"The story that I want to tell you cannot be found in a book. They say the history of the West was written from the saddle of a horse, but it's never been told from the heart of one. Not till now. I was born here, in this place that would come to be called the old West. But to my kind, the land was ageless. It had no beginning and no end, no boundary between Earth and sky. Like the wind in the buffalo grass, we belonged here. We would always belong here. They say the Mustang is the spirit of the West. Whether that West was won or lost in the end, you'll have to decide for yourself. But the story that I want to tell you, is true. I was there, and I remember. I remember the sun and the sky and the wind calling my name, in a time when wild horses ran free."
Mongolia is the only country in the world that has wild horsres any longer. By the end of this century I don't believe you will be able to find any wild horses any longer...
And so I grew, from colt to stallion, as wild and reckless as thunder over the land. Racing with the Eagle, soaring with the wind. Flying? There were times I believed I could.
Honestly, being a movie with so little dialogue, Spirit really relied heavily on its music. The fact that you were able to catch so much of the story in this cover is really incredible
It never really occurred to me before, but no matter how hectic the theme becomes, there's still hints of the Homeland theme. Spirit never stops wanting and actively trying to get home, no matter what's happening around him.
You know, I've always been aware of the parts of the Homeland theme that keep slipping in, but never put into words what that means...probably because it's so obvious. But that doesn't keep it from having a resonant meaning. So thanks for stating it, I love it. :)
Now that you’ve done Spirit, I’d just about die from happiness if you went on to arrange a cover for The Prince of Egypt- one of the best animated films of all time.
same here, I remeber exactly as a child how every time this scene with train occured i couldn't keep up watching beacuse of the tears in my eyes, so many good memories 🥹
I just got hit with the biggest wave of nostalgia, Spirit was the only movie I had as a child due to how expansive and hard movies were to get, I watched it over and over again, this video got me right in the feels. Thank you so much
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimaroon was my daughter's favorite movie as a young girl and into her pre-teens. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, whoever you're with, however you're feeling... day or night, awake or asleep, healthy or sick, happy or sad, I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH BABYGIRL!!!!

I saw this movie in te theaters when I was 3. My famely always tells me that when the narratior said "In the days when wild horses... were FREE" - and then the music came in a roar and all the horses bursted into the screen - I stood up in my chair, full of exitment, and started Rejoicing like a horse "hiii haaa!!!" some pepole in the audiance didn't like it, but many did... This movie means so much to me. It brings back such good childhood memories... Thank you Patrick!
I am utterly speechless. I think I suggested this cover on almost every video u posted in the past year, and here you are delivering in a way I didn’t even dare to hope for. Homeland and Run Free are two incredibly uplifting and touching compositions and you have done the great Hans Zimmer justice once again. Tears to my eyes as my heart filled with pure happiness and nostalgia. Thank you so much, Patrik.
I first saw this movie when it was released in 2002. Over the next nearly 2 decades, I have lost count of how many times I have seen this. I was 20 then and have a 7 year old son now, who also loves this movie. It was Zimmer's absolutely incredible music and Bryan's soulful voice that made this movie from amazing to outstanding. Thank you so much for bringing back all those old memories. A superb piece beautifully put together.
This was my favorite childhood movie. Seriously, I watched it maybe over 100 times all the way through. Amid a turbulent childhood, it was one of my favorite memories. I even plan on getting a spirit tattoo :). Thank you SO much for this, I truly loved every second. It brought tears and laughter to my face.

Since Spirit is my favorite childhood movie, I'll definitely be playing this on loop for a long time. Thanks for such an amazing upload. A marvelous blast from the past.
I have always loved this movie ever since the first time I watched it. I think I have now watched it around 30 times. And I am only 13 years old. I have memorized all the songs and when they play I picture the movie in my head. This is a teenager on my mom’s phone

YES! Finally an arrangement of the Spirit Soundtrack! And such a good one, I had goosebumps all over my body. It's incredible. I heard the music and had the scenes in front of me like I was watching the movie.

Spirit stallion of the cimmaron really one of my favourite films. As a kid I use to watch it over and over again every single day I know what happens at the beginning to the very end and seeing this brings back memories and so I say well done to the artist who learnt the music to that film.🙂👍😃👍
I’m playing this song when I walk down the aisle 100% 💙💙 my boyfriend loves the songs from spirit and I made him watch it and he absolutely adores it, I told him I want a horse like spirit and rain, and he said I could get a horse just like him and her when we get some property!!! ❤❤
Wow, thank you for bringing back - that magical nostalgic feeling of childlike wonder and rollercoaster of emotions when first watching this movie as a 6 year old kid - for just 10 short minutes, but how glorious they were.
Hallo Patrik, ich möchte dir danken, dass du uns so viele tolle stücke zeigst. Wegen dir habe ich meine liebsten Stücke entdeckt und sie nach deiner Vorlage auch schöner gemacht. Danke
Honestly this is a MONSTER of a piece. This is truly beyond impressive and also to be able to arrange for piano. I’m blown away… trying to learn it but it’s 18 pages and all those key changes… hopefully I make it through 👍🏼 Hans Zimmer is a legend.
I just started with this song, I'm new to playing piano so I must be careful not to start learning how to play bunch of songs and focus on one at the time
I hear the wind call your name It calls me back home again It sparks up the fire, a flame that still burns Oh, it's to you, I'll always return, yeah I still feel your breath on my skin I hear your voice deep within The sound of my lover, a feeling so strong Oh, it's to you, I'll always belong Now I know it's true, yeah My every road leads to you And in the hour of darkness, darling Your light gets me through Wanna swim in your river Be warm by your sun Bathe in your waters 'Cause you are the one I can't stand the distance I can't dream alone I can't wait to see you Yes, I'm on my way home I'm on my way Oh, I hear the wind call your name The sound that leads me home again It sparks up the fire, a flame that still burns Oh, it's to you I will always return Wanna swim in your river Be warm by your sun Bathe in your waters 'Cause you are the one I can't stand the distance I can't dream alone I can't wait to see you 'Cause I'm on my way home Oh, I hear the wind call your name The sound that leads me home again It sparks up the fire, a flame that still burns Yeah, I'm on way, I will always return Yes, I will always return I've seen every sunset And with all that I've learned, oh It's to you I will always, always return
This is an amazing arrangement. It captures the best bits of homeland and run free, so true for a main theme! Just bought your sheet and looking forward to practicing this piece! Thank you for sharing your gift
Thank you for putting the effort into this! A nine minute performance without any mistakes is no easy feat. I'm sorry that none of your recent videos have hit a million views yet, but hopefully it will change. Meanwhile, we're here to support you! Not to sound ungrateful, but I hope it is more longer. Damn. It's perfect. I was very little when I first saw this and until now I still rewatch the movie whenever I want. The feels never gets old. Hearing your rendition melts my soul.😭❤️ Pianist really adds something beautiful in life.
Absolutely stunning! Everytime I hear this soundtrack I am reminded how much I love it and why I should listen to it more. Your arrangement does Hans Zimmer justice, like always. You always manage to create full, accurate, and clear arrangements. Again, amazing!
You've taken me back to my childhood with that beautiful version of I will always return. 🐎This was my fav movie as a kid. I even had a sprite plush toy this movie still holds a place in my heart today thank you 😥😭😊
This was absolutely beautiful! It is my favorite soundtrack ever. When you started playing the “Run Free” bit I got chills. Congratulations again, Patrik. You are brilliant. This now is my favorite video of yours. I got really emotional watching it. This movie and soundtrack are very close to my heart. Thank you!
It's a Friday going into a three day weekend. What could possibly make today any better!? Patrik: Here you go. This is a masterpiece, sir. I can't tell you how much I enjoy your playing.
Wow! I am in awe of how complex this arrangement is and you nailed it. From the bottom of my heart thank you. For giving this amazing movie the justice and grandeur it deserves. Breathtaking.
I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me to hear the music from this movie given the love and respect it truly deserves. I have to agree about how incredible this soundtrack remains and that it is pretty much tied for me with "The Lion King"--which is saying something! On top of that, it also has strong emotional meaning for me. Growing up I had horses myself (or rather, my mom owned them and I got to help her take care of and ride them), so they've always had a special place in my heart. When "Spirit" was soon to come out in theaters, my mother and I were both blown away by the trailers, especially the music, and were planning to see it together. Unfortunately, that same year she developed cancer, and ended up passing before she could see it. I went in her place, for her...I loved it as much as I knew she would have. Saw it twice in theaters, in fact (something that wasn't very common for me to do, outside a few really great movies when I could afford it), and cried both times. In fact I cry every time I hear the music from it (*especially* "Homeland" and its return in the reprise of "I Will Always Return"). I'm tearing up even thinking about it now, and I cried listening to your rendition. Thank you so much, and you really should see it when you can, if you haven't by now. The plot may be predictable, but it's the execution that matters, and some stories don't need to be incredibly original when they have timeless messages and emotions to express (plus, those amazing visuals and the music). In fact I think I'll dig it out and watch it as soon as I can.
Hans Zimmer composed the music of soo many of my childhood movies and i never knew And Patrik just brings the nostalgia like a frickin' truck, he never fails to deliver keep up the good work Patrik!
This was my favorite childhood movie. I liked it so much that when my mom took me to the library, I would sneak it into her book pile, and most of the time the librarian would check it out and my mom wouldn't notice.😆 I am going to watch it again because you just reminded me of how awesome that movie is. Thanks a million, Patrik.♥
I have loved this movie so much ever since I was a little boy. 5 seconds in and I was crying, tears coming out. This is beautiful, thank you for this, +1 like from me! and will be sharing it!
I waited for this Video since i discoverd your Channel 4 years ago and finally it is here. Thank you so much for this amazing and wonderful arrangement. I guess i have to buy a Piano now.

.T_T.
I'm not crying *sniff * you are
Its like watching the movie again. One of the best movies i have watched. How greatly you covered it.
If I see another SimplyPiano ad, I’m going to commit a hate crime
Simply apps are so useless 😂 I’ve had both Simply piano, draw and I deleted it in like five minutes 😂
Hans Zimmer composed the music of soo many of my childhood movies and i never knew
And Patrik just brings the nostalgia like a frickin' truck, he never fails to deliver
keep up the good work Patrik!
This was my favorite childhood movie. I liked it so much that when my mom took me to the library, I would sneak it into her book pile, and most of the time the librarian would check it out and my mom wouldn't notice.😆
I am going to watch it again because you just reminded me of how awesome that movie is. Thanks a million, Patrik.♥
It's always nice to hear you again 😊 Absolutely beautiful arrangement!
I have loved this movie so much ever since I was a little boy. 5 seconds in and I was crying, tears coming out. This is beautiful, thank you for this, +1 like from me! and will be sharing it!
