I don't think the melee should do more damage but since he is a boxer and not a huge guy, it should be he can punch faster. Say he could do 4 punches in the time it takes others to do 3.
I disagree. I think that apex, being a shooting game, doesnt lend itself well to a legend that benefits from melees. I would say the ideal way to implement a bit of his boxing lore into his kit would be a close-range tactical lunge that does 50 or 60 damage with his fists, and can be used to break doors instantly or quickly retreat
He should have a punch block ability If he's unarmed and uses his ADS binding: he brings his arms up to guard (kinda like seer passive) and reduces incoming frontal damage from melees (and maybe ordinance too, bc punch only is too situational) by 35%. Could even have a few niche interactions like doors taking an extra melee to break if you're guarding behind the door or maybe you automatically guard while you're popping heals and Ult accels

If he does 55 damage per punch that would be op lol. That'd be almost equivalent to mozam/eva8 with decent aim. Make his punch dmg 20, but you can combo it with another dealing 40 if you land the second. That would be more balanced. I can't do maths so uh I didn't mean 55, I meant 45.
Passive: starts with the fortified buff and has 10% increased melee dmg. Tactical: dive in a direction. (Two charges) cannot shoot while diving. Think like the Halo "evade" ability. Ultimate: lobs a shock grenade that saps enemies in its range for 5 seconds, restoring small amounts of shield to your team while active before finally exploding for a small .5 second stun to ALL players still in its range. (Can be destroyed)
Idk about the passive, it's just weak 30+10%=33 like it almost did not make any difference, increasing the passive to 35% i think make it so much better that you have 40 damage instead of the 30 damage and it would make more sense since he's a boxer
The tactical is cool. I was thinking of something like a slip in boxing but couldn't figure out a way to make it work in a shooter game. Maybe he can evade into an enemy and it's a guaranteed punch? Cool way to link the 10% melee dmg in with the tactical although I think he should also melee faster but that wouldn't affect the tactical. Awesome ideas man!
The passive and tactical sound great dude. Ultimate sounds like it would either be broken AF or not useful at all depending on how much it does to enemies vs how much it heals you.
I actually had an idea pretty similar idea to this a while back, a legend called Oracle: Passive (Combat Lenses): Temporarily gain threat vision when being shot at. Tactical (Alarm): Throw an alarm device on a surface or door. They ping their location when an enemy approaches or uses their door. (max 5) Ultimate (Eagle Eye): Enemy locations are highlighted on the minimap. (Think Blackbird from COD). His backstory would be that he is the Syndicate agent leading the hunt for Crypto, but I think Maldera could fit this role well too.
There could be lines about Maldera questioning about how caustics gas works. Or if caustic tags something and Maldera picks it up he could ask if it was sabotaged.
If I’m completely honest, Crypto’s EMP should do what this ultimate does. Like the EMP can be good but it’s honestly kinda lackluster especially considering that if someone destroys it during activation, you need to wait over 40 seconds before u can even attempt to use it again.
Completely agree. The ult should be a recon ability and not involve his drone. His drone is overall just awful, so having all his abilities involve his drone is annoying. He should take out a computer and "hack" an area on the map giving away anyone's location. Basically a worse bloodhound tactical with an infinite range
Since he's a former lieutenant of the PD, I feel like is passive should have something to do with pistol proficiency like faster ADS or weapon swapping. His other surveillance abilities sound solid though.

May be interrupted by damage). This makes Maldera the first melee-oriented Legend, taking advantage of both his reputation as a police officer, security guard, and boxer. @@darraghmcmullen6205 actually I'm worried this advantage will be deemed by others as "OP" just for being that, an "advantage." But then again all abilities are advantages in themselves and it's easy to counter that by just staying away from him. Bangalore and Octane can easily outrun him, and there are many ways to disable/slow him down. Same reason I wonder why they removed Lifeline's shield: never did I think it was OP when using and playing against her, but apparently a lot of players complained and demanded a nerf, so Respawn just removed it entirely ( o_o )
I've actually thought about this a lot. Hear me out Maldera: Assault type legend specializing in burst ground mobility and buffing damage. Passive: Ring ready. Maldera can punch twice as fast as any other legend. Maybe give him a special animation for this. It would be very powerful off drop but pretty weak overall because legends have guns. Tactical: Bob and Weave: Maldera executes a short range dodge. Can't shoot while dodging. Good for throwing off aim or getting out of line of sight. If you ever played a Hunter in Destiny it's similar to that. Would combo well with his passive if someone really wanted to try a no gun challenge. No team support though. Don't know if this would be really weak or really strong. Ultimate: Fight Night. Deployable that buffs all sources of damage for everyone allies and enemies in a small area. This could be overpowered depending on how strong the buff is, but I think it would be great for finishing fights. I imagine it like a Seer dome but not nearly as big, maybe about the size of a gibraltar ult. If played well you can quick kill off guard teams but also screw yourself if used poorly. I imagine all of this can combo so a Maldera theoretically could throw out their ult, rush an enemy, and punch them to death in a 1v1!
i imagined faster punches as passive as well, it could spice up the early games pretty well. the dodge/dash tactical would be awesome too, but for ultimate i would rather give him something like wattsons ult, but it would slowly refills your equipped guns mag with bullets/or a booster/loader-like quick reload animation
Passive: can see the weapon and armor loadout of enemy teams. Tactical: jammers: has the ability to turn off all enemy scans and information distribution, no pings or anything. Ultimate: probation: all enemy teams in radius have their ultimate and tactical cooldowns reset to 0% forcing to fight with just their guns. Idk just an idea I came up with after reading some stuff here and adding my own input. I just feel like we need a counter this scan meta we’re in. Lemme know your thoughts
Here's something I've come up with. Passive: runs 10% faster whilst not holding a weapon, does 40 damage per punch to enemies without shields. Tactical: can set up to 3 surveillance cameras. The cameras will slowly regenerate shield overtime to teammates and yourself who are in the cameras view. (Like wattsons passive) Each camera has 150 health and a 20 second cooldown once all are used. Marks enemies who enter the cameras view in red. (Like when they enter the room where your teammates are camping) The cameras can be placed anywhere including walls, floors, stairs, roofs, zip lines, rescan beacons, your downed teammates or a gas canister. (Not cryptos drone tho) If a teammate is downed and has their knockdown shield out while being in the cameras view, it will recharge the knockdown shield aswell. Ultimate: All surveillance cameras are brought together to form a turret that automatically shoots bullets at one enemy at a time who are within a 15 metre radius. The turrett has 400 health and can be destroyed. You can also bring out this turret without needing to place the cameras first but it will take a 5 second animation aswell as your tactical will be taken and replaced with a cooldown. So basically he's a support/healing, surveillance, defense and attack legend all in one. A mix of wattson, crypto and rampart just overpowered asf. Of course he can get buffed or nerfed whichever way to make him fair, but I just wanted to share this idea that's been sitting in my brain while watching this.
I think his passive should be something I call -vengeful detective: When a teammate is downed, the perpetrator(s) are marked (3-5seconds) in a similar manner to Maggie’s passive. The main difference being it can mark anyone that has dealt damage to your teammate before they are downed (resets on heal). Meaning if 3 people tagged your teammate then a rando down’s them, all of the responsible parties are marked. His ultimate could be something called Outland’s Finest: Put down some armor that, when collected, grants a small damage reduction to health that wears off after 25 seconds. Tactical Ability could be Homecrasher: Rush forward up to 3 meters with a shoulder charge, destroying doors, knocking back and stunning enemies you come into contact with, as well as dealing 25 damage. Depending on how effective it would be in actual application I would maybe give him a defense buff or small barrier on his shoulder that allows him to negate some of the damage until the ability animation is over.
Passive: Below the Belt Maldera can block melee attacks and decrease grenade damage dealt to him (that he is facing) by ADS'ing without weapons. Tactical: Bulletproof Vest Pick up an extra armor that allows you to keep movement speed and reduces visual clutter when shot. Maldera can drop this and give it to his teammates. Ultimate: Last Resort Charge forward while automatically applying Bullet Proof vest, automatically breaking doors. Enemies hit by Maldera are knocked back, but if they are hit head-on, they are tackled, taking serious damage.
I feel like he could be the perfect combo legend seeing as he's a detective (by combo I mean use both weapons in tandem instead of having 1 for mid-long range then the other mid-close range) where his passive could give all weapons a faster holster time then his tactical could be a single pistol shot from the left hand (so you'd be able to do actions while using the ability eg: switching weapons) that could deal 50-70 damage depending on how ballanced it would be and I have no clue what his ultimate could be maybe something like a doom berserker powerup where it limits you to melee (maybe also let him use his tactical but have the accuracy of it be terrible so you could only really use it as a shotgun blast) but you get a massive damage buff move slightly faster and maybe become invincible (remember you'd be limited to melee so he would need something to close the gap and he could like chase people out of cover for your team to shoot at them think like bangalore's ult except it's just 1 guy running really fast and not to mention how fun it would be to just run at people as they try desperately to run away)
The abilities I think are cool that will fit him Passive: Fist do 15% more damage to enemies. Tactical: the 1 2 3 punch wich makes it so you punch someone 3 times in a row. Ultimate: 25 punches that do 15 damage each but it can only send the punches wherever you look and they keep going in that spot
For the passive I would say 15% faster sprint speed (velocity 343,8) and 20% additional punch damage (36dmg). I'd also love to see some exclusive melee animations like the ones in path's boxing ring on Olympus. The tactal is perfectly fine as long as the cameras can be destroyed (45hp should be fine) and also automatically go off after they scan sb. I have a whole different concept for the ultimate though. It is a little supply drone (not controllable) that can carry up to 4 inventory slots of supplies of any kind (ammo, heals, attachments, survival items, ordnance etc.) And you basically chose the location where you want it to deliver the items and it flies there at a decent speed. When the items have been picked up the receiver has the choice to refill it and send it back or it will be autodestroyed. It has a hp amount of 90 and if destroyed mid-air the items will be dropped on the spot. I believe it's not too op so the charge time should be around 90-120 seconds. Anyway that's my full concept and if he got added like that I'd definitely main him.
so if im understanding it right, the ultimate is a supply drone that scouts the area for given items and goes to its destination to deliver said items?

Honestly for the passive I like the sprint idea, but maybe also something with punching? Like does a 1-2 two combo with each hit having separate tracking, and slightly reduced damage per hit, so maybe 25 per punch, so it overall does more damage but only if you can hit both punches
The cameras would be really cool if dead teammates waiting to respawn can switch to his cams that are already placed and give call outs. So instead of just being locked to malderas pov when you’re dead you can watch his back while he tries to respawn you or loot and heal

Legend: Maldera Passive: Floating Footwork -> Moves faster when walking frontwards, backwards and side to side. Applies when aiming down sights (maybe 15% faster like the passive in the video) Passive: Detective Divulge -> Hitting an enemy with a melee strike reveals their teammates location. Works on a ping system. Maldera can melee faster. Tactical: Real Time relay ->Malderas teammates can see any enemies Maldera is looking at. Works like a bloodhound scan(malderas teammates can see the enemy through walls) and is activated through Malderas watch. (Pretty weak tbh maybe it affects teammates aswell?) Tactical: Encriminating evidence -> 3 charges. Take a picture of a radius in front of you (default). If you capture an enemy you receive the option to have them scanned when you want. The more pictures taken of the enemy the longer the scan will be. 1 picture=3 seconds of scan time. 2 pictures= 6.6 seconds and 3 pictures is 10 seconds of scan time. Has zoom feature allowing to take pictures of further away enemies. Enemies only alerted of Malderas scan once he activates it. Tactical: Crime scene capture ->Throw a device that will create a tape (or handcuff like) like dome structure around its location (undecided radius). Tape can be destroyed. Enemies caught in tape are revealed though a scan. Maldera and teammates can walk through tape.
For the detective divulge passive Maldera would wear special gloves as part of his design. Standard mma gloves could work as a base but torn up bxoing gloves that free the fingers could work too
The problem with the Passive presented in this video would be him leaving his team behind when just progressing from point to point. If it's as is, Maldera would need to stop and wait for his team at regular intervals, leaving him alone and exposed. Since it can't be toggled, moving with him will be a lot of rush ahead, stop, wait, then repeat. An alternate passive would be an increase to melee damage, since melee isn't very OP since the removal of the automatic tracking. It'll just mean that, when fighting a Maldrea, you would be better retreating and reloading, because he could probably beat you in a hand-to-hand fight. Alternatively, if you're hesitant to increase melee damage, you could *reduce* damage he takes from melee. Call it "Bruiser" or something, showing that he can take more punches than your average legend. This would encourage Maldera players to look for opponents who carry weapons that require reloads more, like SMGs and most pistols, but avoid direct conflict with shogun users, as that would be supremely risky. I do love his tactical; they should be small and hard to notice, but not damage at all. I'm hesitant to say if they should tell the target that they've been scanned, like Bloodhound or Cyrpto, since these are entirely defensive abilities. By this, I don't mean that they can't be used offensively, but rather that they require an enemy to "trip" them to be useful, unlike the Scan or Drone, which can seek out players in the former's case, and is an active press-to-use ability for the latter. I don't have any real complaints about his Ultimate. It's perhaps a bit weak early game, but as you said, later and later it becomes more and more useful.
@@cucumber7635 Then what's the point of the passive then? Your options are "don't use it" or "leave your team behind." A good passive maintains its usefulness as much as possible. Take Warlord for example; Maggie moves faster with Shotguns, but its no faster than your move speed without a weapon drawn. That just means Maggie can keep pace with her team while their weapons are away with a Shotty out, meaning she doesn't have that awkward moment when you're ambushed and don't have a gun out.
I like the idea of him being a combined version of a recon / assault legend. He could have a reduced stun / slow passive to make him feel more like a combat veteran character or a movement speed passive with handguns similar to Maggie. The cameras would be a cool niche ability allowing him to gain information in the middle of a fight or have the upper hand if people try to take him by surprise. I think the ult should be something similar to a bloudhood ult where he allows his teammates to have "shared vision" where if anyone sees an enemy they are highlighted on their allies screen similar to a maggie passive. While ulted he can also gain some bonus movement speed and climbing speed.
It would be neat if all of Malderas melee animations were variations of punches in different combinations. Jab-Straight-Lead hook for example. Would look satisfying af from a Malderas pov if Maldera could melee faster
His passive should be the toughness perk, we've been needing this in Apex for so long. When shot he does not flinch or get slowed down. This would also give the same affect as his passive allowing him to move faster in some situations as well as giving him an edge in a pure 1v1.
Passive detetcive questioning: when you do a finisher on a downed person you learn the location of their teammates for 10 seconds Tactical boxing dash 2 charges : use the tactical button to dash a few feet forward or hold it in to dash farther but it takes the two slots up. Dashing into an enemy does 30 melee damage. Ultimate tracker dart: fire a dart into someone and deal 20 damage and disables them from using heals. Learn their location forever until they manually pull it out
His tactical can stay the same however his ult should work alongside his tactical much like cryptos ult. When he activates his ult all his cameras in the area go hot and shoot at enemies who are in view but obviously a low damage amount that stacks like caustic gas does. And his cameras can also shoot at things like caustic traps, Wattsons pillars, crypto drones and rampart barriers. His passive should be somewhat like a footstep Monitor. When he himself is not moving or in crouch he can see on-screen footstep directions of enemies who are close by, goes as far as seers heartbeat monitor. Somewhat like Fortnites on screen footstep thing.
I think since he’s a boxer, his punches should make significant knock back (without buffing it’s damage) so that he has a better chance at 1v3 a team that have no weapons since he’ll be better at making space. His tactical should be a dart that he shoots at an enemy, which reveals their location, including other enemies if he’s close enough. Idk about his ultimate though.
if you prefer meele legend make his ability based on meele fight, like his Q is throwing weapon then you get buff to deal 1 hit ko meele attack once after or speed buff or invulnerability or something. his passive when you not holding weapon or in meele for 5 second you got bonus armor +25 or something or invulnerability for 1 shot (sniper counter). make it his ult like that arena boxing that you cant use weapon inside (as big as giblratar dome or 2 times its size.
Wow, that tactical kinda cool. I think its going to be usefull for ranked situation when final ring and you are trying to keep others away from your building.
His passive should be whenever you are punching someone on the third hit it should stun them for like 5 seconds. It’s not overly overpowered bc you’ll take quite a bit of damage from them shooting. It would be useful when you first land to stun the enemy.
Passive: enemy takes a 2 second stun from his melee.on 1st hit Tactical: Taser Gun, when hit by the stun gun enemies are slowed for 3 seconds and they position is revealed to teammates. Ultimate: pull out a magnum pistol with only 5 shot that does devastating damage. Can’t hip fire and Aim down sight speed is a lil slower

i really like the ult but i think he should have sensor traps that act like a placeable trip wire that when triggered it gives a special ping icon, he would get 2 or 3 traps that could be placed at the same time but his passive since in most scenarios you wouldn't get into a fist fight i would say lower the movement speed to increase 10% and give him a melee damage increase by either 5 or 10 points that would make his melee do 35 or 40 damage per hit and if that would be too op then ea could tweak it back to just a movement increase of course if he has his fists out
Change passive to this-> Punches faster(so 4 in the time it takes to do 3, but he also can “JAB JAB” on his punches so like he hits you twice with one click. Seems a little OP but if he was a boxer giving him the upper hand in every non-weapon fight seems okay with me.
a good passive could be a slight melee damage buff with a noticeable melee speed buff. The idea of combo punches and he’s quicker to throw another punch. Tactical and ultimate are fine but I feel like not that exciting, perhaps more support based abilities? Like a syringe that he hits teamates with to do some health and slight damage/speed boost. Like Ana in overwatch.
I've read a bunch of comments saying that he should punch faster, but I think that it shouldn't just be a flat out speed increase, rather a system like the Deadeye's Tempo, where each consecutive punch gets faster and or stronger with possibly a final blow after 5 or so consecutive hits that stuns the enemy. Or you could just make his punches deal concussion damage making affected opponents slower with blured vision (essentially a stun) he also should have the boxing ring melee animations. His tac seems fine but just a little underwhelming, maybe when opponents get detected they're scanned for like 8 or so seconds to really encourage players to watch out for these things and not just leyroy Jenkins in. As for his ult it just seems like a weaker seer ult, unless the aoe is massive and maybe it scans traps too? Overall, I'd love to see him in the games.
i think maybe have passive as a slightly reudced melee damge (to around 20) but a faster swing speed so you still win in punch fights against other legends
New idea for a charcater. It would be an assassin. They would be able to akimbo small weapons in the game. (Not just pistols but anything about the size or smaller than the prowler with exceptions like the r99 or wingman) and they run 25% faster with a gun in their hand(akmibo or not). However they take 25% more damage while holding akimbo and 10% with any other weapon. (Also akimbo would only take one weapons slot so technically 3)
I think as a boxer it would make more sense for his passive to either be stronger melee (duh) or less tagging when shot or damaged (due to the fact he's used to moving while taking hits)
Hear me out. For his passive how about when he doesn’t have any weapons drawn, he can enter into a boxer’s stance. It’s activation is like seer’s passive, just ADS while not holding any weapon. This allows Maldera to lock on to a target automatically (aim tracking) within range. Melee attacking while using the passive grants access to a new set of melee attacks. They are quicker than normal animations, but deal the same damage. Maldera cannot lock on while airborne. Sprint and jump are disabled while in this stance. He can one hit doors in this stance, stunning enemies behind them.
If a punching ability is added to this game, it should be a tactical that has 20 second cool-down and last for 10 seconds and in that time can do double the amount of damage in a punch
Madera. Either higher punch damage or better MRVN loot since he is freind with pathfinder or maybe he can insert that little wire into the MRVN to see is any teams where there?
Ill add to the passive a quick one two, punch, with 70% of the normal melee, each...with some cool animations like liver punch or uppercuts...jab - upoercut. Just imagine killing soneone with o liver punch..
That passive is cool but it’s like Mad Maggie w/o a shotgun. I think being able to throw two punches back to back and them being worth more damage would be way cooler and more fitting.

Bro he should be melee centered. Make his passive as it is with a 1.5 punch speed increase. His tactical should be the cameras. But his ultimate should be almost octane speed, 3x punch speed, reduced damage taken by 50% and his crouch is twice as quick to activate and travels at normal walk speed. This seems overpowered but he wouldnt be able to heal, throw grenades, use a tactical or hold a weapon in this mode. It lasts for 45 seconds but can be canceled. However if you cancel the ult you have to wait for the timer to recharge depending on when you used it. (Example: 30 seconds rests it at 25%. 20 seconds: 45%. 5 seconds : 85% so you'd have to be wise to know when you're gonna use it. Best for when you're low on health and want to chase that player that is low but are scared of getting killed instantly.
For passive maybe do a extra punch/kick with 15 dmg and decrease dmg recieve when weapon unequip? 45 melee dmg is actually quite a lot when you need to finish off somebody
I think it would be good but my only issue is I think the satellite should hit the enemies with some damage or atleast make them a little like seer and show the enemies health bars not only so that way you know if your able to rush them because they all have grays or something but also so that way you know if you can solo each one of them in a 1v1. What do you think bobz?
Just one: The ultimate make a big dome that give the enemy zone efect and heal teammates. And when you kill one enemy all of his team will be revel to you and your teammates 2 times:))

i like the first 2 but his ult should be boxing gloves that take all of your health or sheild if you hit them it would hit in the range of the normal punch or a little bit farther
I don't think the melee should do more damage but since he is a boxer and not a huge guy, it should be he can punch faster. Say he could do 4 punches in the time it takes others to do 3.
I disagree. I think that apex, being a shooting game, doesnt lend itself well to a legend that benefits from melees. I would say the ideal way to implement a bit of his boxing lore into his kit would be a close-range tactical lunge that does 50 or 60 damage with his fists, and can be used to break doors instantly or quickly retreat

If he's unarmed and uses his ADS binding: he brings his arms up to guard (kinda like seer passive) and reduces incoming frontal damage from melees (and maybe ordinance too, bc punch only is too situational) by 35%. Could even have a few niche interactions like doors taking an extra melee to break if you're guarding behind the door or maybe you automatically guard while you're popping heals and Ult accels

Passive: starts with the fortified buff and has 10% increased melee dmg.
Tactical: dive in a direction. (Two charges) cannot shoot while diving. Think like the Halo "evade" ability.
Ultimate: lobs a shock grenade that saps enemies in its range for 5 seconds, restoring small amounts of shield to your team while active before finally exploding for a small .5 second stun to ALL players still in its range. (Can be destroyed)

Idk about the passive, it's just weak 30+10%=33 like it almost did not make any difference, increasing the passive to 35% i think make it so much better that you have 40 damage instead of the 30 damage and it would make more sense since he's a boxer
The tactical is cool. I was thinking of something like a slip in boxing but couldn't figure out a way to make it work in a shooter game. Maybe he can evade into an enemy and it's a guaranteed punch? Cool way to link the 10% melee dmg in with the tactical although I think he should also melee faster but that wouldn't affect the tactical. Awesome ideas man!
The passive and tactical sound great dude. Ultimate sounds like it would either be broken AF or not useful at all depending on how much it does to enemies vs how much it heals you.

I actually had an idea pretty similar idea to this a while back, a legend called Oracle:
Passive (Combat Lenses): Temporarily gain threat vision when being shot at.
Tactical (Alarm): Throw an alarm device on a surface or door. They ping their location when an enemy approaches or uses their door. (max 5)
Ultimate (Eagle Eye): Enemy locations are highlighted on the minimap. (Think Blackbird from COD).
His backstory would be that he is the Syndicate agent leading the hunt for Crypto, but I think Maldera could fit this role well too.

If I’m completely honest, Crypto’s EMP should do what this ultimate does. Like the EMP can be good but it’s honestly kinda lackluster especially considering that if someone destroys it during activation, you need to wait over 40 seconds before u can even attempt to use it again.
Completely agree. The ult should be a recon ability and not involve his drone. His drone is overall just awful, so having all his abilities involve his drone is annoying. He should take out a computer and "hack" an area on the map giving away anyone's location. Basically a worse bloodhound tactical with an infinite range
Since he's a former lieutenant of the PD, I feel like is passive should have something to do with pistol proficiency like faster ADS or weapon swapping. His other surveillance abilities sound solid though.

𝗧𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟: Security Cam - Deploy security cameras with a 180-degree field of vision. Enemies that enter their field of view will be highlighted and trigger a security alarm that will alert only you and your allies of their presence (3 charges).
𝗨𝗟𝗧: Under Arrest - Upon coming into close contact with an opponent, you may execute an "arrest" which will lock them in a 3.38-second special Finisher animation which afterwards instantly knocks down the enemy even if they are at full health and shields (similar to a stealth finisher. May be interrupted by damage).
This makes Maldera the first melee-oriented Legend, taking advantage of both his reputation as a police officer, security guard, and boxer. His passive Stamina gives him an advantage in CQC and pursuit, working in conjunction with his Ultimate ability to help him get close enough to the opponent and tackle them with an arrest.
Just imagine his voice lines whenever he "arrests" a Legend, especially for "criminals" like Caustic, Mad Maggie, Loba, Revenant, and Crypto.
If not "Lockdown" another fitting name for him would be "Pursuit."

But then again all abilities are advantages in themselves and it's easy to counter that by just staying away from him. Bangalore and Octane can easily outrun him, and there are many ways to disable/slow him down. Same reason I wonder why they removed Lifeline's shield: never did I think it was OP when using and playing against her, but apparently a lot of players complained and demanded a nerf, so Respawn just removed it entirely ( o_o )

Maldera: Assault type legend specializing in burst ground mobility and buffing damage.
Passive: Ring ready. Maldera can punch twice as fast as any other legend. Maybe give him a special animation for this. It would be very powerful off drop but pretty weak overall because legends have guns.
Tactical: Bob and Weave: Maldera executes a short range dodge. Can't shoot while dodging. Good for throwing off aim or getting out of line of sight. If you ever played a Hunter in Destiny it's similar to that. Would combo well with his passive if someone really wanted to try a no gun challenge. No team support though. Don't know if this would be really weak or really strong.
Ultimate: Fight Night. Deployable that buffs all sources of damage for everyone allies and enemies in a small area. This could be overpowered depending on how strong the buff is, but I think it would be great for finishing fights. I imagine it like a Seer dome but not nearly as big, maybe about the size of a gibraltar ult. If played well you can quick kill off guard teams but also screw yourself if used poorly.
I imagine all of this can combo so a Maldera theoretically could throw out their ult, rush an enemy, and punch them to death in a 1v1!
i imagined faster punches as passive as well, it could spice up the early games pretty well. the dodge/dash tactical would be awesome too, but for ultimate i would rather give him something like wattsons ult, but it would slowly refills your equipped guns mag with bullets/or a booster/loader-like quick reload animation

Tactical: jammers: has the ability to turn off all enemy scans and information distribution, no pings or anything.

Here's something I've come up with.
Passive: runs 10% faster whilst not holding a weapon, does 40 damage per punch to enemies without shields.
Tactical: can set up to 3 surveillance cameras. The cameras will slowly regenerate shield overtime to teammates and yourself who are in the cameras view. (Like wattsons passive) Each camera has 150 health and a 20 second cooldown once all are used. Marks enemies who enter the cameras view in red. (Like when they enter the room where your teammates are camping) The cameras can be placed anywhere including walls, floors, stairs, roofs, zip lines, rescan beacons, your downed teammates or a gas canister. (Not cryptos drone tho)
If a teammate is downed and has their knockdown shield out while being in the cameras view, it will recharge the knockdown shield aswell.
Ultimate: All surveillance cameras are brought together to form a turret that automatically shoots bullets at one enemy at a time who are within a 15 metre radius. The turrett has 400 health and can be destroyed.
You can also bring out this turret without needing to place the cameras first but it will take a 5 second animation aswell as your tactical will be taken and replaced with a cooldown.
So basically he's a support/healing, surveillance, defense and attack legend all in one. A mix of wattson, crypto and rampart just overpowered asf. Of course he can get buffed or nerfed whichever way to make him fair, but I just wanted to share this idea that's been sitting in my brain while watching this.
Passive: Bangalore’s sprint
Tactical: crypto’s drone
Ultimate: Seer’s micro drones
I think his passive should be something I call -vengeful detective:
When a teammate is downed, the perpetrator(s) are marked (3-5seconds) in a similar manner to Maggie’s passive. The main difference being it can mark anyone that has dealt damage to your teammate before they are downed (resets on heal). Meaning if 3 people tagged your teammate then a rando down’s them, all of the responsible parties are marked.
His ultimate could be something called Outland’s Finest:
Put down some armor that, when collected, grants a small damage reduction to health that wears off after 25 seconds.
Tactical Ability could be Homecrasher:
Rush forward up to 3 meters with a shoulder charge, destroying doors, knocking back and stunning enemies you come into contact with, as well as dealing 25 damage. Depending on how effective it would be in actual application I would maybe give him a defense buff or small barrier on his shoulder that allows him to negate some of the damage until the ability animation is over.
Maybe he takes up Forge's name/title since he knew him?
Also, I wish we had a legend that dual wielded pistols (off-hand having reduced damage maybe)
You would have to disallow the wingman but other than that a dual wielding legend would be cool
There's datamined concepts for a dual wielding energy pistol. Respawn's at least experimenting with the idea so there's hope.
Passive: Below the Belt
Maldera can block melee attacks and decrease grenade damage dealt to him (that he is facing) by ADS'ing without weapons.
Tactical: Bulletproof Vest
Pick up an extra armor that allows you to keep movement speed and reduces visual clutter when shot. Maldera can drop this and give it to his teammates.
Ultimate: Last Resort
Charge forward while automatically applying Bullet Proof vest, automatically breaking doors. Enemies hit by Maldera are knocked back, but if they are hit head-on, they are tackled, taking serious damage.
I actually like that security camera tactical, could be really cool to have something like that

I feel like he could be the perfect combo legend seeing as he's a detective (by combo I mean use both weapons in tandem instead of having 1 for mid-long range then the other mid-close range) where his passive could give all weapons a faster holster time then his tactical could be a single pistol shot from the left hand (so you'd be able to do actions while using the ability eg: switching weapons) that could deal 50-70 damage depending on how ballanced it would be and I have no clue what his ultimate could be maybe something like a doom berserker powerup where it limits you to melee (maybe also let him use his tactical but have the accuracy of it be terrible so you could only really use it as a shotgun blast) but you get a massive damage buff move slightly faster and maybe become invincible (remember you'd be limited to melee so he would need something to close the gap and he could like chase people out of cover for your team to shoot at them think like bangalore's ult except it's just 1 guy running really fast and not to mention how fun it would be to just run at people as they try desperately to run away)

Tactical: the 1 2 3 punch wich makes it so you punch someone 3 times in a row.
Ultimate: 25 punches that do 15 damage each but it can only send the punches wherever you look and they keep going in that spot
For the passive I would say 15% faster sprint speed (velocity 343,8) and 20% additional punch damage (36dmg).
I'd also love to see some exclusive melee animations like the ones in path's boxing ring on Olympus.
The tactal is perfectly fine as long as the cameras can be destroyed (45hp should be fine) and also automatically go off after they scan sb.
I have a whole different concept for the ultimate though. It is a little supply drone (not controllable) that can carry up to 4 inventory slots of supplies of any kind (ammo, heals, attachments, survival items, ordnance etc.) And you basically chose the location where you want it to deliver the items and it flies there at a decent speed. When the items have been picked up the receiver has the choice to refill it and send it back or it will be autodestroyed. It has a hp amount of 90 and if destroyed mid-air the items will be dropped on the spot. I believe it's not too op so the charge time should be around 90-120 seconds.
Anyway that's my full concept and if he got added like that I'd definitely main him.

Honestly for the passive I like the sprint idea, but maybe also something with punching? Like does a 1-2 two combo with each hit having separate tracking, and slightly reduced damage per hit, so maybe 25 per punch, so it overall does more damage but only if you can hit both punches
The cameras would be really cool if dead teammates waiting to respawn can switch to his cams that are already placed and give call outs. So instead of just being locked to malderas pov when you’re dead you can watch his back while he tries to respawn you or loot and heal
Way back in season 0, when apex legends released the teaser where Blisk talks about the legends and stuff, I think we saw someone who looked like Maldera when Blisk asked if he got what it takes

->Malderas teammates can see any enemies Maldera is looking at. Works like a bloodhound scan(malderas teammates can see the enemy through walls) and is activated through Malderas watch. (Pretty weak tbh maybe it affects teammates aswell?)
Tactical: Encriminating evidence
-> 3 charges. Take a picture of a radius in front of you (default). If you capture an enemy you receive the option to have them scanned when you want. The more pictures taken of the enemy the longer the scan will be. 1 picture=3 seconds of scan time. 2 pictures= 6.6 seconds and 3 pictures is 10 seconds of scan time. Has zoom feature allowing to take pictures of further away enemies. Enemies only alerted of Malderas scan once he activates it.
Tactical: Crime scene capture
->Throw a device that will create a tape (or handcuff like) like dome structure around its location (undecided radius). Tape can be destroyed. Enemies caught in tape are revealed though a scan. Maldera and teammates can walk through tape.
For the detective divulge passive Maldera would wear special gloves as part of his design. Standard mma gloves could work as a base but torn up bxoing gloves that free the fingers could work too

The problem with the Passive presented in this video would be him leaving his team behind when just progressing from point to point. If it's as is, Maldera would need to stop and wait for his team at regular intervals, leaving him alone and exposed. Since it can't be toggled, moving with him will be a lot of rush ahead, stop, wait, then repeat.
An alternate passive would be an increase to melee damage, since melee isn't very OP since the removal of the automatic tracking. It'll just mean that, when fighting a Maldrea, you would be better retreating and reloading, because he could probably beat you in a hand-to-hand fight. Alternatively, if you're hesitant to increase melee damage, you could *reduce* damage he takes from melee. Call it "Bruiser" or something, showing that he can take more punches than your average legend. This would encourage Maldera players to look for opponents who carry weapons that require reloads more, like SMGs and most pistols, but avoid direct conflict with shogun users, as that would be supremely risky.
I do love his tactical; they should be small and hard to notice, but not damage at all. I'm hesitant to say if they should tell the target that they've been scanned, like Bloodhound or Cyrpto, since these are entirely defensive abilities. By this, I don't mean that they can't be used offensively, but rather that they require an enemy to "trip" them to be useful, unlike the Scan or Drone, which can seek out players in the former's case, and is an active press-to-use ability for the latter.
I don't have any real complaints about his Ultimate. It's perhaps a bit weak early game, but as you said, later and later it becomes more and more useful.

@@cucumber7635 Then what's the point of the passive then? Your options are "don't use it" or "leave your team behind." A good passive maintains its usefulness as much as possible. Take Warlord for example; Maggie moves faster with Shotguns, but its no faster than your move speed without a weapon drawn. That just means Maggie can keep pace with her team while their weapons are away with a Shotty out, meaning she doesn't have that awkward moment when you're ambushed and don't have a gun out.
I like the idea of him being a combined version of a recon / assault legend. He could have a reduced stun / slow passive to make him feel more like a combat veteran character or a movement speed passive with handguns similar to Maggie.
The cameras would be a cool niche ability allowing him to gain information in the middle of a fight or have the upper hand if people try to take him by surprise.
I think the ult should be something similar to a bloudhood ult where he allows his teammates to have "shared vision" where if anyone sees an enemy they are highlighted on their allies screen similar to a maggie passive. While ulted he can also gain some bonus movement speed and climbing speed.
It would be neat if all of Malderas melee animations were variations of punches in different combinations. Jab-Straight-Lead hook for example. Would look satisfying af from a Malderas pov if Maldera could melee faster
His passive should be the toughness perk, we've been needing this in Apex for so long. When shot he does not flinch or get slowed down. This would also give the same affect as his passive allowing him to move faster in some situations as well as giving him an edge in a pure 1v1.

Tactical boxing dash 2 charges : use the tactical button to dash a few feet forward or hold it in to dash farther but it takes the two slots up. Dashing into an enemy does 30 melee damage.
Ultimate tracker dart: fire a dart into someone and deal 20 damage and disables them from using heals. Learn their location forever until they manually pull it out
I like the interrogation idea.
His tactical can stay the same however his ult should work alongside his tactical much like cryptos ult. When he activates his ult all his cameras in the area go hot and shoot at enemies who are in view but obviously a low damage amount that stacks like caustic gas does. And his cameras can also shoot at things like caustic traps, Wattsons pillars, crypto drones and rampart barriers.
His passive should be somewhat like a footstep Monitor. When he himself is not moving or in crouch he can see on-screen footstep directions of enemies who are close by, goes as far as seers heartbeat monitor. Somewhat like Fortnites on screen footstep thing.

I think since he’s a boxer, his punches should make significant knock back (without buffing it’s damage) so that he has a better chance at 1v3 a team that have no weapons since he’ll be better at making space. His tactical should be a dart that he shoots at an enemy, which reveals their location, including other enemies if he’s close enough. Idk about his ultimate though.
His passive is probably telling what type of guns your opponents have
if you prefer meele legend make his ability based on meele fight, like his Q is throwing weapon then you get buff to deal 1 hit ko meele attack once after or speed buff or invulnerability or something. his passive when you not holding weapon or in meele for 5 second you got bonus armor +25 or something or invulnerability for 1 shot (sniper counter). make it his ult like that arena boxing that you cant use weapon inside (as big as giblratar dome or 2 times its size.

His passive should be whenever you are punching someone on the third hit it should stun them for like 5 seconds. It’s not overly overpowered bc you’ll take quite a bit of damage from them shooting. It would be useful when you first land to stun the enemy.

Tactical: Taser Gun, when hit by the stun gun enemies are slowed for 3 seconds and they position is revealed to teammates.
Ultimate: pull out a magnum pistol with only 5 shot that does devastating damage. Can’t hip fire and Aim down sight speed is a lil slower
Passive 15% more punch damage 8% movement
Tactical 2 camreas does 5 dmg to who it sees and marks them
Ult res you or a team mate for a lil bit then they go back down and marks who down them
i really like the ult but i think he should have sensor traps that act like a placeable trip wire that when triggered it gives a special ping icon, he would get 2 or 3 traps that could be placed at the same time
but his passive since in most scenarios you wouldn't get into a fist fight i would say lower the movement speed to increase 10% and give him a melee damage increase by either 5 or 10 points that would make his melee do 35 or 40 damage per hit and if that would be too op then ea could tweak it back to just a movement increase of course if he has his fists out

Change passive to this-> Punches faster(so 4 in the time it takes to do 3, but he also can “JAB JAB” on his punches so like he hits you twice with one click. Seems a little OP but if he was a boxer giving him the upper hand in every non-weapon fight seems okay with me.
a good passive could be a slight melee damage buff with a noticeable melee speed buff. The idea of combo punches and he’s quicker to throw another punch. Tactical and ultimate are fine but I feel like not that exciting, perhaps more support based abilities? Like a syringe that he hits teamates with to do some health and slight damage/speed boost. Like Ana in overwatch.
I've read a bunch of comments saying that he should punch faster, but I think that it shouldn't just be a flat out speed increase, rather a system like the Deadeye's Tempo, where each consecutive punch gets faster and or stronger with possibly a final blow after 5 or so consecutive hits that stuns the enemy. Or you could just make his punches deal concussion damage making affected opponents slower with blured vision (essentially a stun) he also should have the boxing ring melee animations. His tac seems fine but just a little underwhelming, maybe when opponents get detected they're scanned for like 8 or so seconds to really encourage players to watch out for these things and not just leyroy Jenkins in. As for his ult it just seems like a weaker seer ult, unless the aoe is massive and maybe it scans traps too? Overall, I'd love to see him in the games.
i think maybe have passive as a slightly reudced melee damge (to around 20) but a faster swing speed so you still win in punch fights against other legends

New idea for a charcater. It would be an assassin. They would be able to akimbo small weapons in the game. (Not just pistols but anything about the size or smaller than the prowler with exceptions like the r99 or wingman) and they run 25% faster with a gun in their hand(akmibo or not). However they take 25% more damage while holding akimbo and 10% with any other weapon. (Also akimbo would only take one weapons slot so technically 3)

I think as a boxer it would make more sense for his passive to either be stronger melee (duh) or less tagging when shot or damaged (due to the fact he's used to moving while taking hits)
He could have a passive called "Interrogation" which would highlight the surviving team members after a finisher

Hear me out. For his passive how about when he doesn’t have any weapons drawn, he can enter into a boxer’s stance. It’s activation is like seer’s passive, just ADS while not holding any weapon. This allows Maldera to lock on to a target automatically (aim tracking) within range. Melee attacking while using the passive grants access to a new set of melee attacks. They are quicker than normal animations, but deal the same damage. Maldera cannot lock on while airborne. Sprint and jump are disabled while in this stance. He can one hit doors in this stance, stunning enemies behind them.
If a punching ability is added to this game, it should be a tactical that has 20 second cool-down and last for 10 seconds and in that time can do double the amount of damage in a punch

Ill add to the passive a quick one two, punch, with 70% of the normal melee, each...with some cool animations like liver punch or uppercuts...jab - upoercut. Just imagine killing soneone with o liver punch..

That passive is cool but it’s like Mad Maggie w/o a shotgun. I think being able to throw two punches back to back and them being worth more damage would be way cooler and more fitting.
just make the passive a bonus like having a blue stabilizer and/or stock on your gun regardless of attachments

Bro he should be melee centered. Make his passive as it is with a 1.5 punch speed increase. His tactical should be the cameras. But his ultimate should be almost octane speed, 3x punch speed, reduced damage taken by 50% and his crouch is twice as quick to activate and travels at normal walk speed. This seems overpowered but he wouldnt be able to heal, throw grenades, use a tactical or hold a weapon in this mode. It lasts for 45 seconds but can be canceled. However if you cancel the ult you have to wait for the timer to recharge depending on when you used it. (Example: 30 seconds rests it at 25%. 20 seconds: 45%. 5 seconds : 85% so you'd have to be wise to know when you're gonna use it. Best for when you're low on health and want to chase that player that is low but are scared of getting killed instantly.

For passive maybe do a extra punch/kick with 15 dmg and decrease dmg recieve when weapon unequip? 45 melee dmg is actually quite a lot when you need to finish off somebody
I think it would be cool if they adapted Forges’s unused/fake kit in someway for Maldera.
I think it would be good but my only issue is I think the satellite should hit the enemies with some damage or atleast make them a little like seer and show the enemies health bars not only so that way you know if your able to rush them because they all have grays or something but also so that way you know if you can solo each one of them in a 1v1. What do you think bobz?

passive: 30% faster melee speed and also that the punches have thrust like pre nerf punching
tactical: he can jump to the side like a side jump can't shoot while jumping (charges 3)
ult: throws handcuff's/shock grenade that stop enemies from sprinting, jumping or crouching for 5 seconds (the enemy can still walk)
i like the first 2 but his ult should be boxing gloves that take all of your health or sheild if you hit them it would hit in the range of the normal punch or a little bit farther
