What astonishes me is further it’s not just the overt abilities but the AI's ability to recognize and incorporate very specific nuances that make it sound so real. Most people have no clue about the intricacies happening "behind the curtain." For instance, in the music industry, AI-generated music often mirrors the current standards, such as the use of AutoTune and pitch correction. You can test this yourself by having AI generate vocal music by decades. As you approach the 2000s, you’ll notice the introduction of AutoTune (think Cher's "Believe" and Hip Hop/Rap vocals), and by 2010, pitch correction is added on top of it. The AI is keenly aware of these trends and integrates these nuances seamlessly.
Anyone who has been in charge of a project, event, or production knows that creation involves combining various elements to form something new. Whether by design or emergence, this level of generation is unprecedented. And let's not forget, this industry is truly in its infancy.

@user-tx9zg5mz5p I agree. For many obvious reasons, the US government will at least know about and have access to AGI before the public does. If you think about it from a pragmatic and security point of view, it's clear that it can be no other way. I'd rather the US government get AGI first than the Chinese government. AGI really is a matter of national security, so I can't honestly argue that the government shouldn't have it first. If it goes the way the internet has gone, the public will get full use of AGI, but the government will regulate its usage for national security. It is always a balance kf freedom and aecurity in America. China has no balance.
@@aisle_of_view when you add in job security, vacation time, flexibility, work/life balance, pension, and the work culture (working for the government is not nearly as stressful), many people will choose the government job.

Kurzweil has said we would have AGI by 2029 since the late 1990s. He doesn't change it every six months and he doesn't come out grandstanding and acting like he is the reason for AGI even though he has a lot more to do with it than Musk. When the AI asks "What is my purpose?", instead of telling it to better humanity, tell it to think of ways to better humanity, then it won't get stuck on one singular purpose like "Humanity would be at its best if there was only one human left alive, must kill all humans to better humanity". When it just has to think of ways, then maybe it will actually think up a way to better humanity.
I suggest you condense your videos by delivery a clear message with concise language. They could be a lot shorter and more engaging.

The answer is simple: Real is whatever is undeniably tangible.
Understanding is when reality is shared with others, as most experience the same level of tangibility. There is a word for classifying different levels of tangibility, called granularity. When we speak of granularity, we're talking about the understanding that everyone has a different depth/mastery of knowledge and competences.
To a genius, reality is very granular with many opportunities. For them, even fantasy (of others) can become reality when pursued in reality. They have the power to transform ideas (arguably untangible information) into something tangible that can be understood.
Real is anything you can perceive, feel, or direct, but not what you can think or interpret. For someone who is blind from birth, seeing colors is not real. Conversely, if a genius automates hardships away through mechanical or software devices, reaching that point seems unreal to those who don't know how to make technical devices work; they lack the ability to turn their ideas into something understandable. But surely, the devices are tangible, since the impact on common life that is automated away, is relatable by experience. Therefore, even if the path towards an outcome is unreal, the outcome does not have to be perceived as such. A blind man can accept that color exists. But it does not mean color suddenly becomes tangible to that man. I'm saying that impact and process are distinctly different things. Most people confuse the two, and think that if a process can be perceived, it must be real. Nope. Seems to me a lot of people frustrated, when 'their reality' is not accepted by others. Its because they're following a process as opposed of making an impact, communicating a tangible outcome.
Therefore, reality is whatever you can effectively make someone else feel or perceive. If you remove the external observer, then real is whatever influences your perception or experience. Many people don't test their ideas with others due to fear of criticism, making their fantasies real to them but not to others. This state of being is called 'delusion'.
Reality is the opposite of delusion. Do others accept your actions or vision? Then it’s understandable because it’s appropriately tangible, making it relatable.
Thus, reality is whatever you can relate to others. Perhaps its more accurate to say that reality does not dictate how an interpretation is done, but it is something that can be worked with even without your involvement. A tree will be a tree even if you don't tell it to exist or tell someone else what its purpose is. Any idea flowing from those things is technically a delusion. Usability in this sense, is not real. Actually applying the usability makes it real.
However, if you align the fundamental basis of your ideas with others, you're experiencing a delusion inspired by reality, which we call creativity. If only people had the competence to make their inner creativity tangible, everyone's fantasies could become real!
This is why I believe creativity is so appealing: it allows you to stay in your head where it’s safe (no imposed impact from other people, because in your head other people are not real) without losing the full connection to reality.

We have entered a phase where AI is being productized. Google and OpenAI (to a lesser degree) are exceedingly late to the game. Is it Safety Teams holding them back? Could be... now Google is locked into the new phase of things. Meanwhile, OpenAI is twiddling their thumbs while probably sitting on a gold mine of tech until somebody else launches something that would beat them. Doomers want to slow things down, but there are too many players -at all levels - who simply will not. Progress is inevitable. Anybody who waits around will lose big in the New Gold Rush, same as so many corporations lost when they hemmed and hawed against the onslaught of the internet. VEO and SORA should be available now, damn the torpedoes and full steam ahead. Let the governments be the ones playing catch up.

On a different note.... I will never pay for any of these AI services.... never. I will find a way to run it myself or on colab.
They are ALL way too expensive. eg, OpenAI with their lazy $20 a month jumps up to $33-35 in AUD. Not going to pay the same price as 2 streaming services for something I won't use as much as those streaming services. It's ridiculous.
I am a futurist and love speculation and learning about emerging technology and believe that AI will be one of the final huge milestones for our species.

I believe that in the future we will have digital versions of people. We will have a digital avatar or simulation of loved ones that have moved on.
I also believe that AGI will be a lot closer than Elon suggests. I think by the end of this year we will have something that very closely resembles AGI.
Google is the absolute PR agent of this space. They can't be seen to be doing ANYTHING wrong so they play it super safe to avoid impacting their profit margin. If that means they lose the AI race then so be it. They will just buy a company that is still in the race.
