I love living in Lancaster County. Soooo many places we can slip into for a beautiful natural experience. I get out almost every weekend in the warmer months. Can’t wait!
My Boy Scout troop had camping trips here almost a decade ago. We got to sleep in the barn before they refurbished it. Dirty, dark, and absolutely freezing cold in January. They did a really good job refurbishing it
Climbers Run is in what was formally the Lancaster Boy’s Club’s Camp Snyder. It was donated by the C. Abram Snyder family. The Climbers Run stream is unique in that it has native trout in it. This is pretty rare for a stream this far south in the populated part of Pennsylvania. The entire property is now owned by The Lancaster Conservancy who has acquired properties in Lancaster and York Counties for the purpose of keeping woodlands open to the public.
Beautiful place, bet that water is ice cold from snow melt. Lots of slab stone houses in south Mo. Always wanted to live in one. Thank you Cliff for the hike,
Thank you so much for that, what a beautiful place. That stream with the little waterfalls was awesome. Really enjoyed that thanks Cliff. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
Climbers run used to be called “Camp Snyder” when the Boys and Girls club used to own/lease the property-there was also a juvenile offenders facility on the spot where the parking lot is now- I spent two summers there with the Boys and Girls club as a kid. ) (6 weeks each summer and weekends at home) 25 years later and I was just down there hiking with my wife and the same cabins are there in the meadow down from the barn...
Don't remember what I said lockdown restrictions n Ireland Horrible Woodsman Is Free not me!? He's Lucky! Heartbreaking looking on But Gd N Hope from W. W.
Hi Cliff, a beautiful area, I can only imagine how pretty it looks covered in snow or in the late Spring/early Summer. That old stone house was very cool to see, I wonder what it's history is and how long it has been standing there for. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 🙏💖
Loved this video! What a beautiful place! I am curious. What type of rocks made up those cliffs and overhangs? I live in Kentucky now. We have limestone in the Louisville area. ... a limestone/sandstone mix in the Red River Gorge area.
Hey. Cliff that house I believe is for rent through VRBO and I believe the Lancaster Conservancy which owns this has summer camps or activities the building that other building when you first come in is an environmental education center usually for school age kids
1. I accidentally left the sole of my shoe at 6:25 , it started to rain so I booked it and forgot it. 2. I climbed to the top of the rock at 10:24 , on the way up a turkey vulture hopped out of a small cave/hole straight towards me, scared the crap out of me, I thought it was a skunk at first, thank god it wasn't.
Great video! I grew up there. Since I didn't have to cross a road to get there. I was allowed to play there. We spent countless hours fishing, building forts and rock climbing. You can go south to Pennsy Rd and park to explore the the rest of the creek all the way to the head waters. You can also park on Stump Rd to access the Climbers Rum. Thanks for the video
Do you find you do more exploring/hiking because you need material for your channel than you would if you weren't making videos? That would be a good thing. The stream is especially beautiful bc of the hemlocks.
Thanks!
beautiful stream - thank you.
thanks for doing this, I watch most of their bird Cameras and now thanks to you I get to see some of the rest of park.
Beautiful place

Yeah lots of limestone around here. Do you have high iron rocks there?
@@vonschweringen8321 Not that I know of. I shall ask someone with more knowledge of that issue. Thanks for replying to my question.
I Googled for an answer! Mostly sedimentary rocks around here... some shale.
Damn! I thought I was going to see some climbers running. Oh well. Carry on.
Very funny 😂
I can feel the frigidity of the water! Brrr! :)

Come and see hyner view in Clinton County
That other hiker you saw that gave some weird vibes is Either he's cooking meth, moonshine or mary joint pick one
Do you ever carry a metal detector with you
Never see those kinds of rocks here in the river. That must be sedimentary with all the layers and lines. Nice under water action. 👍

Cheap, Cheap....little extra for those nasty creeks....cold or warm! Pair of flip/flops and a stick!!
Those rocks look the water may have passed over them in time passed.
The terrain there looks a lot like Indiana.
Absolutely beautiful area.
I recommend a video / hike of Saint Anthony’s Wilderness (Stony Valley).
thanks
Ever hit up anything in huntingdon pa?
I have been there a number of times.
There's a whole lot of water coming down at 9:00. Does all this come from a spring?
My hometown!!
