When I first moved to Korea I thought cold noodles is a crazy idea and a big no. But now I i love it. Bibim Naengmyeon is my fav between the two 🤤🤤

My American grandmother always had a bowl of what she called "refrigerator pickles" in the summer. The pickling liquid was exactly your recipe, Aaron! She had sliced cucumber, sweet peppers, sliced onion, and then whatever was fresh. Blanched greens, radishes, carrots.. She'd serve a big spoonful on a couple of lettuce leaves every dinner. So yummy!

To anyone who hasn’t had this, def try to find naengmyeon noodles. They have such an amazing texture; there’s really nothing like them.
I’ve used lots of different shredded toppings like raw onion, scallion, Anjou pears, gala apples, red radish, and micro greens. Also sesame seeds, furikake, and roasted seaweed. They all taste great so as Aaron says, just use what you have!

Are you familiar wirh Subak Naengmyeon? Cold noodles tossed in a spicy sauce of rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, sesame seeds, gochujang, and gochugaru. It's served in a carved out watermelon and topped with fresh cucumbers, radish, and a boiled egg.
Thank you very much for this recipe. I've been folowing your videos and making them for my family for awhile. We adore & appreciate all your hard work.

I love this dish i made it it is so yummy! I didnt have a grater so i threw the pear in the blender to get the juice it was amazing then i just drank the rest of leftover pear juice. Made it with somen noodles 😊 with 2 tablespoons of Gochujang and 2 of Samjang ( my spouse cant take a lot of spice) so i did a blend.

Thanks so much for doing a Naengmyeon recipe video!
I made the North Korean variant yesterday. Now I wonder where the difference is. Due to the lack of information on North Korean restaurant food, I improvised. In the end, it turned out looking very similar to the Naengmyeon in the tourist videos, but I wonder if I did everything correctly. (my dream is to have delicious recipes from every single in the world, that's why I made it in the first place xD )
The Bibim sauce tasted absolutely amazing though. Your variant looks just as good, so I'm definitely gonna it next! Keep it up!

Hi Aaron and Claire!! I absolutely love your videos, and the cookbook is one of my favorites on my bookshelf. I have a quick question - as I'm not a fan of raw onion, is it okay to omit it from recipes like this one? I don't want to completely alter the flavor, but it's not something I can tolerate well. What do you suggest @aaronandclaire ???
