Yeah. I just took an exam and was told none of this would be on the state portion, just state law. SURPRISE! There were about 10 questions and without prep I know I probably got them all wrong. I wish there was a settlement math prep course somewhere. The video is great but I need to test myself over and over before I go back for the re-take of the exam.
@@jbmcdoogle PSI website has practice tests for $20. Go to their website. That's how I'm studying. Instead of studying everything, I take the practice tests to see what I know. Then, I study the questions that I get wrong. Instead of studying through the book, I look for prep agent or UA-cam videos on the topic. Then, I just use the book to review after the video has taught me what I need to know.
Great video, would like to see more information on examples that relate to the questions asked in the exam. i.e. Debit Seller Credit Buyer examples, still finding that part hard to understand, how to remember who gets debited and who gets credited for certain items.
@@VirtuousBeautySalon I'm still confused about how to calculate the proration for property & HOA at closing, between the buyer and seller. Do you mind explaining if you know?
When it comes to real estate, are everyone understand what is trust & Trustees? When proof of real estate come with life and how many are in the family?? Insurance means protections. Thanks
I wish I found this video sooner 😭 thank you! Been using your course and watching all webinars and all videos. Failed for the 3rd time but prepping to try again in a week 💪
Can you make a video on calculating the sun the seller will take at closing, and who pays what as far as credit report, transfer tax, mortgage payoff, etc.
Joe, great video. Are there settlement statement math prep exams out there somewhere? I'd like to do problems and see where I need improvement. I think doing repetitive problems would help me a lot.
I felt so dumb going through this section in the book but this video simplified it. Thank you!
Yeah the book is never simplified
Same. I also got thrown off based on how I understand the definition of credit/debit in Accounting terms lol
Almost always get debit credit questions wrong.
When you pass state exam youre credit with a license and a load of fees as a new agent.
Me too

I still don’t get it, but I’ll find a way
Debit is a deduction.. credit is an addition.. .. think debit take away and credit add to me

@@danaallen6946 I don't get it either...
So, basically, it's the opposite of how debit & credit cards work.
@Jaye you won't get it wrong anymore! Thank you PrepAgent!!!! I passed on my first try, keep studying, believe in yourself.
I wish I could understand this concept .... so frustruating to not be able to get it when others think this is so simple.

How are prepaid taxes calculated at closing? Is it debit for the seller, or the buyer?
Credit-seller
Debit -buyer
