- Trout Season is officially here! My good buddy Bama and myself set off in search of a great first day experience but we could not even begin to imagine what came to us! Tune in and see what we got to experience in the great outdoors!
That's insane- I've fished PA my whole life and those are exceptional stocked brook trout. Finding that many in one hole on opening day is crazy. Dont feel bad about keeping a few, that's what they are there for. Im sure anyone involved in raising and stocking them would be happy that they were caught by people who appreciate them, and it's clear that you do

I just found out they stock brook trout recently (I fish small streams for native brook trout) and I had no idea I can just drive somewhere and catch brook trout that impressivev

Great catch guys! You know, keeping the genetics of those pigs going in the water system makes years of big fish catching ahead. A great 8x10 glossy picture is as good as mounting them on a wall. I kept wayyy too many big trout and steelhead and now regret taking them out of the gene pool.

That’s absolutely insane. I’ve got a huge soft spot for brookies. An I chase lake run coasters avidly. Biggest I’ve caught is just under 3lbs. I’ve never seen anything close to these that’s absolutely ABSURD!!!! Congratulations. PLZ DO UPDATE WHEN U GET THE DOUBLE MIOUNT BACK!!! I think it’ll turn out dope!!! An don’t feel bad man I rarely ever keep fish either and those fish w no doubt in my mind I would’ve been keeping.

My two daughters and I got into some nice stocked trout in Michigan a couple of years back.

Im just saying, with all the big trout your catching, are you sure this was a keystone select water? Where they stock big ones and you cant keep them? Plus its just artificial lure? Just saying i dont know 100 percent but i help the state stock alot of trout, and streams dont normally get that many big trout. Ok well congrats!
Yeah we thought it was odd at first too just found out this week from talking to people in the area and another comment that said they stocked big fish way up stream for youth day on a private part of the creek, people said they must of gotten pushed down from where they stocked up stream but we were on a part of the creek that the state does stock and is public for everyone fished definitely got very lucky to fish that hole as there was atleast 50 cars in the parking lot closest to that hole, it was only my 2nd time fishing that creek we just got extremely lucky

This was in westmorland, just fished a spot in Washington on Saturday bud for that one will be coming out this week caught rainbows and browns there but they stock some brookies in westmorland

I don’t believe the state stocks Brookies that big in my area, but we do know that they take buckets of fish up to that whole when they do stock, our geuse was that they were leftovers from last year or there could have been someone who privately stocked them way up stream, not sure tbh but definitely happy to find them👍🏽

Maryland DNR needs to be ashamed of themselves. They constantly stock trout very small trout in our state.
PA puts a few nice ones in, there’s been people saying that these ones musta floated down from a Private club way up stream into public water, I never seen the state stock brookies that big
What county were you guys in? And congrats on the monster brook trout! I've been trying to catch one that size for a few years now and haven't caught any brook trout above 14"
