I was invited to experience Whisperlodge (An Immersive Theatre ASMR Spa) when in San Francisco! Here is the session/performance in full for you to share with me. I'm wearing in ear mics throughout so you can hear everything I did 💜 Some aspects were very different for me but I absolutely loved it, I felt safe, cared for and unexpectedly found it super tingly. I live about 30 minutes away from this "spa" and the locals always make sure not identify this area with San Francisco. This spa is in Berkeley, California, which people who live in the surrounding cities call "Berzerkley" because the people who actually live in the city all act a bit..... unique.

I understand how people may find this strange but honestly I find this to be really cool. It had to take a lot of courage to organize this Whisperlodge. Of course courage to attend it; tho think it'd be 1000% worth it.
Frankly I found the affirmative consent both silly and off-putting by taking you out of the reverie. I mean if you've gone to this place voluntarily and signed their waiver I'm going to assume youre going to be comfortable with normal actions associated with a masseuse/hypnotist. The constant interruption to ask permission to lightly brush her hand or lead her to another station was to be frank coddling. But I feel the same way about affirmative consent between adults having sex.

After all these years i still come back to this video. For me this is still the best ASMR there is. Its intense while beeing soft, its beeing loud while beeing quite, it feels very authentic with all the little background sounds and echoes. It feels like a combination between the best out of intentional and unintentional ASMR. A real Masterpiece from the performance of the whisperlodge guides to the exeptional recording quality. Dear Emma, thank you very much with the deepest gratitude!
I think it's neat that they put themselves out there with this kind of business. It's always a risk that others won't like it. Personally, I'd be happy to be a regular in an ASMR shop with 1) a low-lighting environment like a jazz cafe OR well lit and I'm wearing sleep mask 2) one or two clients at a time 3) one, maybe two ASMRtist professionals per client, and at least one is a female 4) no group singing or chanting for obvious reasons 5) skin/hair touching is fine as long as it's rated G and limits explained when signing paperwork

This is the future. And I think in the next decade more and more spaces like this one will emerge. I think this is absolutely phenomenal, because we are exploring something never done before. You can literally feel the amount of love and good energy that was in that house.

I would be delighted to go to Whisper Lodge, except I’m the only one in my family that watches ASMR, so my parents would not be willing to take me there. (I’m not old enough to sign waivers without an additional parent signature.)
Frostflame, you'll grow up faster than you think and wish you were young again. Cherish these times, and perhaps introduce trusted friends into the asmr community and create your own asmr safe space. I’m actually surprised how freaked out people are about this. I enjoyed how there was an introduction regarding feeling comfortable and making such a safe space for everyone. The singing they did sounded like Catholic Church haha and is pretty normal amongst many groups, not just “cults” around the world. It seems like their priority was safety and making sure no one felt they were out of their comfort zone. I’m really glad you shared this experience with us and for those who were freaked out maybe it’s not for you but also consider thinking outside the box a bit. Thanks Emma!

Sweet Emma, kept a smile and a kind attitude to all she meets despite the weirdness. I will say that although it does seem rather cult-y, they do make a point to assure that if you feel unsafe you need only communicate it.
Have you done LSD and listened to ASMR? I had done about 150ug and spent several hours listening to DR. T ASMR and his croaky voice made me hallucinate the smell of roasted coffee. Worth it imo, but you know, "don't condone your use of it" and all that disclaimer stuff 👀

Before my dad passed we kind of did ASMR for each other and didn't even know what it was, he would rub my forehead and down my nose, and tickle my forearms and play with my hands, and I would "draw" on his back with my finger, and give him "pretend haircuts", and my mom would brush my hair while I was having anxiety. I'm so glad I finally know what to call it (we called it "warm fuzzies") and that there is a place even on video I can experience it, tonight is the first time I've used headphones during these videos. I didn't think it would be so different, but it is so much better

Aww, glad to hear we weren't the only ones doing this haha, yeah, his passing devastated me, it's been 2 years now and still feels so raw, we had such an incredible bond, and him and my daughter did as well, she's only 6 now and still talks about him every day, I only hope she never loses those memories since she was so young, but we lived with him her whole life and she saw him everyday that he wasn't in the hospital (he was very sick, died of illness, not an accident or anything) I just hope that was enough for him to stay in her mind permanently. Bc he was such a great man, I hate that she won't grow up with him in her life. Sorry, when it comes to my dad I always end up going on and on..
I honestly think the filming style, dim lighting and physical appearance of the bloke are what make this seem so "cult-like". The triggers are brilliant and the audio is perfect! If it was a lighter room and presented more like one of the recent ASMR spas Emma has attended I don't think anyone would call this creepy 💜
I don't even really think it is creepy. I think the point alot of people miss is that this is not meant to be a cinematic experience but rather an in person one. The fact that each room has a theme and different people and you go through different stations with different ASMR experiences is exactly what someone would want out of an ASMR spa. They are whispering and the lights are dim because its supposed to be a relaxing ASMR experience. It is like going to an interactive play.
This Spa would have a less creepy vibe if they just treated it like a normal place where the relaxing starts once you ever a private room and not the entire building.

See for me, idk that that’s necessarily the weird part... I think it would be more being in a group of people whilst doing it, if that makes sense? Asmr has always come across as something somewhat intimate between the person doing it and the one receiving it, so when they were together in that first room it was a bit cringy, but when they went into the separate rooms where it was more one on one wasn’t as strange for me. However the “IS IT NOWWWWW” part would be weird as shit, group or not 😂😂

I mean if you've gone to this place voluntarily and signed their waiver I'm going to assume youre going to be comfortable with normal actions associated with a masseuse/hypnotist. After all these years i still come back to this video. For me this is still the best ASMR there is. Its intense while beeing soft, its beeing loud while beeing quite, it feels very authentic with all the little background sounds and echoes. It feels like a combination between the best out of intentional and unintentional ASMR. A real Masterpiece from the performance of the whisperlodge guides to the exeptional recording quality. Dear Emma, thank you very much with the deepest gratitude!
I think it's neat that they put themselves out there with this kind of business. It's always a risk that others won't like it. Personally, I'd be happy to be a regular in an ASMR shop with 1) a low-lighting environment like a jazz cafe OR well lit and I'm wearing sleep mask 2) one or two clients at a time 3) one, maybe two ASMRtist professionals per client, and at least one is a female 4) no group singing or chanting for obvious reasons 5) skin/hair touching is fine as long as it's rated G and limits explained when signing paperwork

This is the future. And I think in the next decade more and more spaces like this one will emerge. I think this is absolutely phenomenal, because we are exploring something never done before. You can literally feel the amount of love and good energy that was in that house.

I’m actually surprised how freaked out people are about this. I enjoyed how there was an introduction regarding feeling comfortable and making such a safe space for everyone. The singing they did sounded like Catholic Church haha and is pretty normal amongst many groups, not just “cults” around the world. It seems like their priority was safety and making sure no one felt they were out of their comfort zone. I’m really glad you shared this experience with us and for those who were freaked out maybe it’s not for you but also consider thinking outside the box a bit. Thanks Emma!

Before my dad passed we kind of did ASMR for each other and didn't even know what it was, he would rub my forehead and down my nose, and tickle my forearms and play with my hands, and I would "draw" on his back with my finger, and give him "pretend haircuts", and my mom would brush my hair while I was having anxiety. I'm so glad I finally know what to call it (we called it "warm fuzzies") and that there is a place even on video I can experience it, tonight is the first time I've used headphones during these videos. I didn't think it would be so different, but it is so much better

Aww, glad to hear we weren't the only ones doing this haha, yeah, his passing devastated me, it's been 2 years now and still feels so raw, we had such an incredible bond, and him and my daughter did as well, she's only 6 now and still talks about him every day, I only hope she never loses those memories since she was so young, but we lived with him her whole life and she saw him everyday that he wasn't in the hospital (he was very sick, died of illness, not an accident or anything) I just hope that was enough for him to stay in her mind permanently. Bc he was such a great man, I hate that she won't grow up with him in her life. Sorry, when it comes to my dad I always end up going on and on..

I honestly think the filming style, dim lighting and physical appearance of the bloke are what make this seem so "cult-like". The triggers are brilliant and the audio is perfect! If it was a lighter room and presented more like one of the recent ASMR spas Emma has attended I don't think anyone would call this creepy 💜
I don't even really think it is creepy. I think the point alot of people miss is that this is not meant to be a cinematic experience but rather an in person one. The fact that each room has a theme and different people and you go through different stations with different ASMR experiences is exactly what someone would want out of an ASMR spa. They are whispering and the lights are dim because its supposed to be a relaxing ASMR experience. It is like going to an interactive play.
This Spa would have a less creepy vibe if they just treated it like a normal place where the relaxing starts once you ever a private room and not the entire building.
I think that's what it's selling point is and what makes whisperlodge different from other spas

See for me, idk that that’s necessarily the weird part... I think it would be more being in a group of people whilst doing it, if that makes sense? Asmr has always come across as something somewhat intimate between the person doing it and the one receiving it, so when they were together in that first room it was a bit cringy, but when they went into the separate rooms where it was more one on one wasn’t as strange for me. However the “IS IT NOWWWWW” part would be weird as shit, group or not 😂😂
