If a car is for sale for a long time is does not always mean that there is a good deal to be head.
In a normal situation where car prices are decreasing there are a few strategies you can use to get a stellar deal and compensate some of that depreciation. In the upper segment we saw rgar discounts can be had in markets with a high carried over inventory rate combined with high price reductions on unsold inventory.
For all of these markets with a low carried over inventory rate but high discount percentage, it can pay off to pay close attention to the specific car you are interested in. If it has been sitting around for a while, you know that there is a good chance that there is some wiggle room in the price. Instead of waiting for the price to drop, it could pay off to simply talk to the seller.
Finally, we look at situations where cars are not selling and also not being reduced in price. These are the more risky purchases. You could get a good deal as the market is gaining strength, but also end up overpaying. Doing market research to understand the price trend and drivers is key.
When it comes to the strong markets, it is of course very difficult to find extraordinary deals. Prices themself hardly display any winter dips but price changes for unsold inventory do. You should then also look for cars than have been for sale longer than average and are still for sale in the winter.

Good video. Add this to the consideration- a car sitting for a long time and discounted will also have poor residual value. At trade in time, you could lose another 10-20% below comparable cars because that one has a poor color combination, few options, or high mileage. Even though it was a bargain going in, getting out will be painful and cost of ownership will be high

you need to identify each car model or class being graphed on every chart and not just rely on having "said" which car you're talking about. it will make your videos better and easier to understand

@@fourwheeltrader each time a chart is shown, you should include what model the chart refers to, even if you've said it. it just reinforces what the chart is about. also when ppl want to skip forward, they can see the data chart and know what you refer to without having to rewind for the audio

Dealerships are high if they think the Nissan Z is worth the huge "market adjustment" they keep tacking on top of the MSRP. And sadly it will reflect poorly on the car's selling performance for Nissan because dealers are being greedy, so that will hurt the future of the car if Nissan can't sell them.

Seems like the market is better over 🌊 than here in the usa the price range is still out of control extremely bad on the Porsche bulid app and inventory finding most dealers still marked up

im seeing a lot more porsche 911 inventory at dealers now, and even new 2024 models when there were no new ones in inventory last year. This should be pushing down the price of used ones but 2020 used are still selling for what they were when new. I dont understand this.. when I priced a 2020 out in 2020, it was 156k for a 4S.. they buyout was around $90,000.. now they are selling for $150 to 170k.. its crazy

Used gt3 s 992 are still over MSRP by quite abit. The RS is even higher. Has nothing to do with time of year or how long the cars are on the lot.

You will see that those markets are exceptionally strong and outperform the general market. This video is mainly about aggregates.
US Tax refunds are down 57% this year. THAT has never been seen before. Banks are tightening credit even for GOOD clients. Costs of borrowing are going higher. More bankruptcies than ever. The EAST working very hard to dethrone the USD. Commercial Real Estate is crashing. The housing bubble is bursting. Layoffs are increasing. There aren't enough REPO guys to repossess ALL the vehicles in arrears. Banks are starting to offer Forbearance on loans in arrears because they are flooded with repos!! ALL these things indicate MORE than a contraction of the economy. I suspect that by year end we will start seeing prices never seen before. We might even see manufacturers going bye bye.
