@@CAMSLAYER13 The numbers before the 4th were something like 160-180k players on friday and on staturday that dropped by about 40k and today there are only about 100k... it is the weekend, the numbers are supposed to go up not down when more people are not working. I suspect 80k players to be the average next week which is about half pf what the weekday average normally is.

I signed up for a PSN account because I didn't realize you didn't need one in the beginning. I am trying to close my PSN account now in protest, and it turns out that Sony doesn't let you do that. When you go to the PSN website section with information on how to close your PSN account, it tells you to contact support. If you click the link to contact support, it tells you to look up more information before you contact support. If you manage to get your way through the nested circles of BS, there is an option to contact a chat rep. It says reps are available between 10am and 9pm. If you click the link to chat with a rep, it says no reps are available. Sony is going on the list of companies I will never buy anything else from, along with Blizzard and Ubisoft.
Make sure you fill the account with garbage info.

Honestly the game is dead in the water for me because I'm not making a PSN just to play the game.
The sad part about that last tweet (and something to keep in mind) is that the actual Helldivers team has nothing to do with this, from the sounds of it. It's a decision made entirely by Sony to force this on players now, after months of it being completely unnecessary.
They're literally shooting themselves in the foot solely out of corporate greed and a sense of control. Remember: no big company is ever your friend. Never.
Thats the community managers trying to gaslight you. This is a planned requirement, it was supposed to launch with PSN linking as a requirement. The official excuse is that they didnt expect the game to be as popular as it was so it delayed integration. When you look at the facts, it paints a different picture though. Arrowhead and Sony knew about the requirement, they knew people were uninformed about it because they made no effort to inform them, and they gambled on it us just rolling over and taking it to boost Sony's sagging PSN numbers for the shareholders. That makes Arrowhead complicit at best, but as far as Im concerned they bear equal responsibility.

The Sony published FAQ on PSN account linking showed it as optional. After May 3rd the FAQ was changed to some games may require it.

Well yeah, it was steams choice. Steam wont allow arrowhead and sony to sell the game to people who cannot play it.
Steam did that, because unlike Sony they care about consumer protections and don't want people to be able to get scammed.

If Sony could simply see the miraculous growth of the game without PSN registration and the disastrous downfall after the announcement, and put 2 and 2 together, they should realize it's more profitable to withdraw their decision.

I wrote a long explanation in my refund request, even citing my local consumer protection laws and they didn’t care, refund rejected.
If the TOS or EULA get changed in any way then we should see our refund window fucking reset.

I love what Arrowhead has done, but Sony really became the straw that broke the camals back. I don't plan on buying any new games backed by major publishers. I am sure I won't be 100% in that promise, but Helldivers 2 was the first game in a long time that I REALLY enjoyed, and Sony's actions, as trivial as they are in some ways, have just got me angry.

I'm french and seeing Metropolitan France in the list surprised me because France has access to PSN. But also, Metropolitan france isn't used as far as i know. All french account on Steam are located in "France". "Metropolitan France" is just another name for the main country (French islands are also on that list and i don't know about the PSN situation over there)
So in short : Metropolitan France = the France country in the EU. France = Metropolitan France + all the french islands (and this one is mostly used on Steam so the restriction is strange)

That launch trailer hits differently now that the community had to turn from fighting bugs and bots to fighting corpos.
Sony's quarter report comes out 5/14. I imagine sub counts are relatively low, starting a new quarter with a large jump in subs, would look great on paper. Another thought is they wish to completely absorb the company. Force the studio into financial destruction, hence the focus on destroying the steam version so completely. And the focus on psn subs. Arrowhead then turns and needs help to stay up, Sony then buys them out completely then does what they will. Cant be certain on the second theory, but we will see.
