Nice idea Steven, I'll be interested to see how you get on with that. I have never used wraps in my life. If the lower portion of the squat is your weak point, you could also try paused squats. However, If you are just trying to overload the bar, you could try banded squats.
Very good point. Squats like every exercise really makes us get the technique part down. I'm on my way back from the World powerlifting championships and I had a couple coaches give me some good pointers that I'm hoping will help me improve.
Hope you had a great time. Just be careful with how often you do overload training. Especially with squats. Tends to wear you out quicker than regular training. Especially at our age.

Thank you Bill. I've also thought about half squats and bar walkouts with the bar overloaded.
I’ve been researching overload eccentric squats. But it’s helpful to have two spotters to remove a plate for the concentric portion.
