Of course Pau killed it GENUINELY! There's not a phony or pretentious proverbial musical or vocal bone in her or her sisters' bodies. On or off stage, they're 100% real ALL OF THE TIME. That's why they're respected and loved by all of us.
Indeed. The authenticity of the Villarreal sisters is soul deep. One of the many, many reasons I love those women.
Facts
Pau should never wish she was special. She's so very special.
Paulina didn't just sing a cover, she plays her instrument and then reinterpreted the lyrics.🎶
Creep reimagined for the Pau Cam.❤
Damn man… I 100% agree with you. Completely. Every take.
"Creep" is now Pau's song. Stripped down and playing the slightly out of tune family piano. No bells, no whistles. Recorded on her phone. Just Pau's amazing voice! I love your comments from the other performers, Rob. Great job, as usual.
Love your “the Beatles called…” comment
I agree with you Rob. Thank you once again for your pure honesty. Pau's version is the only version that exists to me now.
Right on the money Rob. I never heard the original version and now I wished I never have. If you want a crap song better all you have to do is let the Warning redo it. Even an already iconic song like Enter Sandman they made so much better with the Warning touch. When I saw their cover of Atlas rise they did at whe whisky I was floored. I have seen some Reactors talk crap about Dani not doing any cool guitar shreds or solos but they need to see this. At the end of their set they finished with Atlas rise flawlessly. I can not say enough good things about this band but they have made my life better by discovering them. Viva the Warning and rock on 🤘 ladies ❤️ Great reaction Rob.😊
@@waynecorder7675 I agree with this 100 percent
I really enjoy your sardonic humor - "That ship has sailed." I think that Pau's version is powerful, not just because of the way she sings it, but also by the way she accompanies herself on the piano - the highs and lows, the emphasis and the trailing off, all the emotive techniques that she has at her disposal, because she is not only a great singer, she is also a great musician.
Spot on my friend
When Radiohead singer started singing i was expecting Pau's voice for some reason.
That's what a REAL artist and musician is supposed to sound like! (Pau, of course)
From what I understand, during the pandemic, this song was requested of Pau as an Instagram challenge. Pau learned the song in 4-5 hours and this was the result. She, as well as her two sisters, are real talents. Thanks for the reactions!
I believe she gave 3 or 4 choices to fans and Creep was the one that won . .
That ship has sailed”. 😂😂😂
😆
and sunk
You might have had the most genuine and awesome reaction to Pau’s celebration!!! That was awesome! Still laughing! 😅
I've watched Pau's version of Creep more times than I can remember, and each time I can't help holding back tears. I'm a greybeard dude, old as dirt, and THAT feeling shouldn't be so easily brought to the forefront from a video, but dammit Pau, you have that 'sonething' that makes you so very special.
Glad I'm not the only one!
Pau has a way of touching your soul when she sings.
Right there with you!!
It’s unanimous. 🤘
Never heard "Creep" until Pau did it. I assumed, correctly it turns out, that hers would be the definitive version. Never found a compelling reason to investigate further. This video proves it, beyond a doubt. Also, some of Rob's sarcastic, throw away comments had me rolling. 😂😂
My honesty and uncontrolled comments get me into hot water sometimes... hahaha
Pau = 🌟🌟🌟🌟
⚡️THE WARNING⚡️
In the case of Pau, she asked the fans on Instagram which song she should cover, the fans voted for this one, and since she did not know how to play it, she went away for a few hours, came back, did a few takes before that final one, hence the loud Yes! at the end. 😀
The girls each have a day assigned to them and for Pau it is Saturday, so every Pau day she would try her best to do something with the fans, same for Friday for Dany and Sunday for Ale. Dany was the one who did the most covers, Pau did a few and Ale tended to do more Q&As. Dany even does a monthly masterclass with the higher tier patrons, where she teaches us how to play their song on guitar.
Here are a few of my favorite covers:
Dany - Home (Cavetown cover)
Dany covers of Break in by Halestorm & First day of my life by Bright eyes
Walk - Foo Fighters COVER by Dany
And some acoustic performances of their songs:
Dull Knives (acoustic version) *Patreon Release
The Warning | Pau playing the piano 🎹 Black Holes - Stalker - The End
The Warning LIVE on WMMR Philadelphia - Money (Acoustic) & Interview
The Warning - Acoustic in Montreal @ChomRockRoom
The Warning UK Private Acoustic Show
"Qué Más Quieres" acoustic | The Warning
First Day of My Life gives me smiles for minutes after hearing it - always ❤ and I play it almost weekly
The Radiohead original was an anthem of the angst of the 90s, early 2000s. The video sucks. I really love the song, but that was formative times for me. Jelly Roll was only suggested because you had them on the Alone version. I have no idea who the other chick was - she was filler.
The entire objective of this suggestion was to get you to watch Pau. I knew you would love it.
She did this during the pandemic. She was taking suggestions from their fanbase on songs to perform. The fans suggested a song, and she had 4 hours to practice and perform it. Her reaction at the end was her nailing it, in one take! Thanks for not stopping before that!!!
Jelly Roll looks like he's pissed at his manager for getting him into this.😅
Note that all the performances except Pau’s is done on professional gear. Pau is playing and singing into her iPhone!!! WTH! Amazing!🤘⚡️
1000 percent agree with you sir 👍🏼❤️
Clearly Pau's version is the best. So far my favourite cover version of this song.
That's how great and talented Pau is, she takes a "bad song and makes it better" .
Dude, I couldn't agree more and she recorded it on her phone! Those other versions just don't convey the emotion this song needed and as with all of the Warning's songs it gets what it needs and all that song needed was Pau and the piano.
Yes, Pau it's very special girl! ❤❤
Aloha VC- Another reactor did just this kind of comparison, "Ashlena Reacts" and she reviewed the same artists except, Ashlena left off Serena and substituted Haley Reinhart and Postmodern Jukebox jazzy version of Creep! The result was the same! Pau just knows how to emote, she's so f'n special!!
I looked at Haley Reinhardt but that was just horrible pop. She might have made it further than Serena, but it would have been no better received by Rob!
This was an Instagram challenge. Learned this song in 4 hours. Only 1 Take. That's why the YES!!🤘
Pau is on a different level
Creep is Paulina ..everything she does is awesome
"That ship has sailed" had me rolling on the floor! When your thumbs went up for Pau, I cheered! "G" rated, for me, is fine. You called this 100%, and I had never heard this song done by Radiohead before......I wasn't missing anything. Pau's ability to convey raw, powerful emotion, for these kind of songs, is second to none! But then I knew that!
Rob, I totally get your take on the song. And I was getting worried as you got to the end of the CC, but I'm so glad you enjoyed Pau's version. And that you let it roll to the "YES!" Many reactors stop it when she stops singing, so they miss that very cool part.
Thought you don't like covers.
*Pau version:* During Covid shutdowns. Pau went on Instagram with a challenge with her fans. She will learn a song on the piano. Record it. Then put it out on UA-cam. *Creep* & 3 other songs (never knew those other three) was on Pau's survey. *Creep* won.
Took Pau a couple of hours to learn it. Plus that was her 4th take. That yes at the end meant that's the take she wanted.
--------------
I do believe Pau took her *Creep* version from a UA-cam group called *PostModern Jukebox.* An on-line musician who gets together with other musicians. They take rocks songs. Strip it all the way down to it being raw. Then do a cover of the song in a different genre. Whether swinging twenties, jazz flavor or whatever. *PostModern Jukebox* did *Creep* few years before Pau. Their version, also clean, had that jazzy old gangster sound from the 1930's or 1940's. It's exact same as Pau but their version including brass (horns). It was also taped in black & white. To give the song that old time smoky bar feel.
I like a good cover, but when I am reviewing a "new to me" band, I prefer to hear their originals 1st. But this "Cover Corner" is meant for covers.
@@victorycast- When you replied. I added more to my comment you might want to take a look at.
Way better explanation than I gave! Than you!
With all due respect to your comment. Pau’s version was not taken from Haley Reinhardt PMJ cover. Haley’s version is clearly much jazzier. And stunning. But ultimately I prefer Pau’s stripped down unplugged cover
Love your reactions, there’s something so refreshing about some very raw honesty
Paulina once again ripping our hearts out with her voice! A slightly out of tune piano, an iPhone and a few hour to learn it and a boatload of talent =Masterpiece!
Pau sounded like the Rocker she is and Radiohead and everyone else sounded CREEPY. I think I like this new cover corner segment. 😎
cool, I hope it continues to go ok
Another cover, probably my favorite very early cover by The Warning, is their cover of Resistance by Muse. Pau's drumming dynamics, Ale switching between pick and no pick on the bass, and Dany handling guitar and piano duties as well as singing, is very impressive to me!
“That ship has sailed” 💀🤣
😆
“That ship has sailed” 😂😂
😅
Pau sang the version heard on the radio by saying ''very'' instead of the F bomb.
The piano a little bit out of tune is their family piano ( breathe was recorded on this)
It was a social media challenge during the pandemy. she had 4 hours to do so the Yeeeees at the end
You took the words out of my mouth with your "sad clown" comment!😂😂. Pau can make any song work! Even the hokey pokey! Excellent reaction. Thanks.
What makes the version that Paulina sings so different is that it feels honest, the others who performed the song give the impression that they did it just to show off, in one way or another, instead Paulina interprets it as if she herself I would have written it, I liked this song a little when I was young and didn't know any English, I just liked how it sounded, when I learned a little more and knew what it said, it disappointed me a little, although I won't deny that in His time sounded everywhere.
Paulina Villareal the best drummer, singer, lead singer, song writer and genius artist.
This is the first time I hear the original, and it sounded like what you can expect of someone thinking he is dope and does not care. The second try by Viking Barbie crashed directly, mainly due to to much bosom and that the guy is sorry for not getting lucky. None of those two seemed to be aware of how to fit in. The guy was completely wrong. The song flatlined and I really don´t care to bother about weather it has survived or not. Serena: I fell asleep, it was like listening to paint drying. Then comes PAU, BOOM. Musicianship, voice, feelings, aware of the words she´s singing.
We got a winner.
Your reaction, made me laugh.
When Paulina sings, I cry immediately ⚡️🤘
I felt the EXACT same way after each version. Thanks for the reactions. So glad you cut the one short. It was playing too long already, lol.
😂
...that ship has sailed! Good god, laughed out loud. Does that make me a bad person?! Def agree with your take on these. Never heard Pau's version before, great to see. Rock on \m/ (TWA)
Body shaming a bit though.

Might have something to do with working in the bush and always needing to know if there are other animals around….
The first time that I hear Creep by Paulina, I cry. Just was a challenge and in an hours she had your own version and was this emotion in her voice, how say the song she sang like an angel. Greetings from Argentina
Yes she is amazing in not using the F word. Total class!!!!!
Rob please do Danys cover of Break in by Halestorm and watch in wonder she sings it better than the original.
The Warning is near impossible to beat..certainly not by any band today
Also, the only exception cover by Dany !
Completely agree with you. Never heard the original until today. No wonder I fell in love with Pau's version! 🤩🤩🤩Pau Pau! 🤩🤩🤩
Dude! The look on your face sometimes!!! I’m only 30 seconds in!
And 4 minutes in! 😅😅
😉
😅
Chills 🤘🤘🤘
The ladies from The Warning not only perform their songs, they become their songs.
BTW - the suggestion for House of the Rising Sun - I think every suggestion on that song is solid. That doesn’t mean you will like it, or listen to its entirety, but they are all generally of much better quality! And unlike this one, I don’t care which one you chose! Because I had zero doubt who you’d pick tonight!
There is Paulina Villarreal and there is everyone else for second place.
I’m not a fan of the changes to the notes in jellyrole version 🤔
Bro’ that was cos they were singing out of tune 😜
La versione di Paulina è la migliore per me... i like when you smile
I’m a crepe
I’m a weird dough
What the challah am I doing here
Pau is pure power and class... in whatever she does.
For me, this is Pau's song... I need no others!!!
Pau’s version definitely the best here…she got a tear from me again with her emotional singing 😢❤😊
Pa Pau ! 🤘⚡️🤘
NEVER have I like this song NEVER. Until Paulina did it. Wow every time & I knew she wasn’t gonna curse when I first heard it as well. The emotion is unreal. Nice Rob🍺
You know what??? You are absolutely 100% my favorite reactor and critique artist, love ya. Pau is a true artist, and realized a better message in this song, you nailed it. Also, loved the comment about "that ship has sailed" to jellyroll (LOL).
Thank you so much
I literally broke out in laughter when you said that ship has sailed
All The Warning fans were beging you to wait till the end for . . YES . .
Great reaction . . Im not a Radio Head fan and have only ever heard Paus version 😱😱 . . In fact i was surprised there was the f word in the song . .
What can be said . Paus voice . Superb . . Her class 100%(for not including Fword) .
Till next time take care
Bye from NZ🍻👍🇳🇿twa
You hit the nail on the head. Great reaction Rob !
I agree. Never a fan of radiohead but Pau owned this song.. now for your other cover corner. Maybe entersandman. Thier are a ton of covers from the warning to liliac to VOB. Also Simon and Garfunkel sound of silence. Disturbed did a awesome cover
I always Love your honesty!!!
Dude mad props for this reaction. If you were truly watching those other covers and hearing the song for the first time, this is the my first time seeing this reaction of yours to this song and with other covers first which is just a bonus because they sucked. Anyway we reacted the same exact way through those other covers I swear laughing at the same time shaking our head same time software where someone improvised your face over top of me actually looking at myself because we reacted exactly the same way. Now I already knew having watched this cover for the warning of Creep by many other reactors that she didn't use the f word but I wouldn't have needed to see other reactions to know that she wasn't going to use that word. I was waiting to see when you saw their version how you were going to react when you saw pal didn't use that word whether you're going to truly appreciate it and you sure did stop the video and everything it was awesome. And also all the jokes you made were hilarious and on point. The Beatles haircut, the false emotion, just everything all of it was hilarious. Again Mad props, which in case you didn't know means big respect for that reaction. I've watched a lot of your reactions but this one did it for me I'm now going to subscribe. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
That is awesome! Thank you. And as always, I never watch the videos or listen to the song 1st (other than to ensure sound quality with some fan stuff). I believe a "REACTION" should be a true 1st time listen. If I have heard them, they go in my review section of videos.
This was so much fun, Rob.😂 You‘re devastatingly eloquent in your criticism. And I KNEW you will notice the missing f-bomb in Pau‘s version.🤘
Thank you
Pau proved that creeps can be very special.
There’s one other cover of this that I think you might like, it’s from a band out of Nashville called IMY2 - it’s a authentic cover but the singer Annalise puts her spin on it, OK she uses the F 💣 but she adds the sort of emotional energy to it that Pau does (almost); Pau makes me cry with this no matter how many times I watch it, Annalise does too!
Lots of people do covers, and that's just what they are, covers. Pau can take a song and make it hers, The pure emotion she can convey with her voice is astounding, and her talent is undeniable. Pau doesn't have to "wish" she was special, she is special, and her sisters are special as well. When you put them all together you get one of the best bands of this generation. Mark my words The Warning is destined for the kind of fame that very few bands will ever see. Great reaction Rob, keep on being honest, it's a rare thing. 🤘💯
Always love your honesty
I do think pain and channeling whatever the artist is feeling, even if it’s dark, is woven into the fabric of art going back millennia. Slapping a possibly fake positive message onto the end wouldn’t make said art more valid, actually could do the reverse.
That and some of the comments on personal appearances aside, I don’t watch reactions for confirmation bias, I want your honest take. And that’s what I got and it was interesting and entertaining.
Definitely one of the best channels out there.
I had another comment with a similar take to yours. I do not disagree, and to be sure, art has always conveyed deep and dark emotions. I just was putting myself in that scenario and I think, for me, it would just make me fall deeper into the void and would be needing a message of hope. That is just me.
Radiohead is named after a Talking Heads song.
❤❤❤❤❤
Great Reaction 🎬🤘⚡🤘 She is a Amazing piano player 👏👏
Pau...Fantastic!
With that Beautiful and powerful voice Pau s performed Creep masterfully
Excellent my friend...excellent!!!
Thanks for listening
I always like your commentary even when I disagree. Keep going with this format it is very entertaining 😮
I appreciate that!
Another early Warning cover you should listen to is Resistance by Muse. Knowing you, you’ll hate the Muse version. But I love the Warnings cover. It really showcases how talented they were at an early age. Solid drumming. Ale switching between picking and plucking. Dany playing both piano and guitar. And 3 different voice parts in places.
noted
Pau is incredible.
Pau kills this. You also missed one other fantastic cover of this song by Haley Reinhart.
Pau has a magic ability to connect with your soul. I think she could do that reading the phone book if they still published them. I wish you'd included Haley Reinhart's version with Post Modern Jukebox; I'm pretty sure you'd have still picked Pau's version, but I honestly can't say one is better than the other. Haley's jazz version is a vocal masterpiece. Looking forward to your next CC!
Thanks brother
Radiohead could depress a laughing hyena. OK Computer was a good album but I can’t watch them, it’s a load of pretentious guff for art students. Did see them in my local pub back in the early 90’s, got a photo as a reminder of a thoroughly depressing evening tbh..
As for Jellyroll and Barbie, jeez, almost singing in a different key to the instrumental part 😮
Pau’s version saved this song big time, well done to her 👌
I thought I was the only one who noticed that the Jellyroll/Barbie version was going off-key. Good call !!
@@thomasmalatesta7331 I forgot to mention the lack of any dynamics in their flatlining performance as well!
LOL, on the Jelly Roll comment, I saw somewhere he lost a lot of weight and ran like a 5K or something. Surprised you didn't include the Haley Reinhart + Post Modern Jukebox version as well but that one is mostly a demonstration of Haley's vocal prowess rather than emotional performance.
I have seen that mentioned a few times now. Honestly I did the bands that were submitted to me.
Always appreciate your honesty Rob. I do like the original and the girls are big Radiohead fans. Doesn’t mean you have to be of course. Pau’s version is the best of course. Her lyrics were from the Radio edited version. They obviously couldn’t play the album version on the radio. But totally agree with everything you said about the other versions
Leave it up to someone from The Warning to save the day.
Saved the best for last. Pau, and The Warning in general, has made covers into The Warning songs, IMO, and made songs I normally wouldn't listen to, into songs I listen to by them.
🤍
As for raw, Pau's is the go to version. For production version. Mimi (15) & Josie's(13) version is awesome. They did as teenagers on The Voice Kids Germany. That one was so good, they had them do it twice during their audition(Wish I spoke German. They, did the song twice, plus was on stage an additional 8 minutes with the coaches sitting on the floor talking before picking a coach. Would love to know what they were talking about.) And they did it again during the completion. They won the competition that season.
Its interesting how often TW get comparisons to that famous band with statues in Liverpool. We are witnessing something very special.
The Warning have already been a band longer than Beatles were together.
I don't really agree with you that this kind of music encourages people to be miserable/hurt themselves. To me, that's like saying rock/metal music encourages people to be violent/shoot up their schools. Music doesn't do that, mentally ill people do that.
As someone who used to suffer severe depression years ago, music exploring negative ideas/experiences didn't make it worse. Music was an outlet to help me feel and process those emotions in a healthier, safer way. Without darker music, I probably would have been more likely to kill myself, not less. I definitely couldn't have afforded therapy, something had to be there to keep me company at the bottom and show me the way back up.
EDIT: I don't disagree with you on the quality of the performances though.
Thank you for your thoughts. I am happy to hear you are doing well, and if this style of message helped with that, then good. I just feel that it would be a better message to say "OK this is how bad I feel but there is hope. Just my opinion. Music does truly help people and for that I am grateful.
@@victorycast Thank you, I appreciate that. I definitely think there should be more positive messages too, I'm definitely not saying people shouldn't do that. But sometimes people aren't ready to hear that kind of message yet. I think it's valuable to have something that just says "I get it" without judgement, expectations or advice. Sometimes you just need someone to listen to you without interrupting you to give you answers you already know.
De acurdo contigo, una gran interpretación de Paulina
A surprise winner!!
Paulina is the best, she does everything she does very well, it's amazing.
