How To Paint A Beautiful Loose Watercolour Seascape, how to lift out sea spray wet in wet watercolor

- / loisdavidsonart www.etsy.com/uk/shop/OwlsAndF... In this video I'm painting a very loose, semi-abstract seascape using 2 colours, paynes grey and prussian blue, focusing on the wet in wet technique to lift out the sea spray and wave crests.
My board is tilted at around 45 to 60 degrees so the water and paint flows nicely.
Materials:
Millford 100% cotton paper hot pressed 11" x 15"/28cm x 38cm
Prussian blue, paynes grey, large hake brushes, small caligraphy brush, water spray bottle

There are several great painters but there are fewer great teachers. You are both🙏
Such a wise piece of advice to draw a pencil mark for the gull, especially for us amateurs. Thanks. Love your work ❤

Thanks so much for your encouragement and lovely comment 💕💐
You can almost feel the wind, pushing that wave, lifting the gull. Stunning!
Thanks so much!
I am really enjoying your loose style. I want to adopt that looseness more and just be free and paint! Thank you so much for sharing.❤
So about your technique:
You said you wet the paper all over but then you said the bottom is wet loosely and unevenly? So do you leave dry areas on the bottom?
Molto belli i tuoi aquerelli. Freschi ed immediati. Sto provando e imparando. Grazie mille.
Amazing and magical . Your brushstroke is fantastic . One go then you have it perfectly done 🌹🌹🌹. I dream one day I can do that 😍
Thank you. This was fun!
Absolument magnifique ; il est vrai que le mariage du bleu de Prusse et gris Paynes fait des merveilles !!!! Bravo Loïs

Fantastic work - within 3 minutes you had a masterpiece!
so kind of you to say Pierre...
I'm still new at watercolour and am far too controlled and aspire to paint so freely. Its exquisite.
Thank you, as you build ij confidence, you will find it easier to paint freely
Super 👍
That is gorgeous thank you
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it 💐
@@LoisDavidsonArt I shall be practising this thanks. Great for a beginner to try.
Another stunning piece of work. Eye catching from any angle. It's the strong contrasts dark and light the demand attention. Not something I could walk past and ignore.
I was thinking about a little booboo with the bird. Easy to transform into another coastal type. A bot of a blob on it's neck, we have a frigate bird, beak out of scale, and there are 2 options, a gannet, or a pelican. Not that you need to adjust anything to meet with a happy little accident. ( I miss Bob too ). Can you feel the sea spray on your face? Hear squeals of delight from the gull, as it enjoys challenging conditions? Feel the rumble under your feet as the waves smash against rocks? That right there is what finishes a painting, when there more than something to see. But life within it.
You're a proper clever clogs. And all in as long as it takes to make a cuppa.
Thanks so much for your feedback and great advice Graham! 😊💐
Belíssimo 👍🏻👏🏻
Thank you Lois for your amazing work, sooooo spontaneous, sooooooo beautiful! Was wondering the brushes you used?
Aloha=Love🐦
You are a great artist, thank you for sharing your talent. It's an honor that I can learn from you.
it looks as though you used some masking fluid? I’m new with using the fluid but i’m sure it would be helpful with waves. really lovely.
Another stunning seascape Lois. You are the master of wet-in-wet! Thanks so much for sharing. You inspire me.
Thanks for your kind words Kathie!
👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️
How do I get both the colors on my paint brush - in this case the blue and pynes grey - for the initial splash?
Also, this is one of the best works I have seen in a while..! Thanks for sharing..!!
Many thanks Surya! Dip your large brush unevenly into both colours with out mixing them together - plenty of paint freshly squeezed from the tube - this way you will apply both colours in the same brush strokes
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎨🎨🎨💕
👌👌👏😍
Thanks!
Hello. I love your tutorials but could you tell me what the paint brush is called again and where you bought it from please? 😊
Hello from France
It's the first time for me and think you for this vidéo ! It's incroyable !
What is this brush using ?
