I am amazed at your painting technique of swiping on colors, turning your board around and ending up with that beautiful sky. If I did that it would look like mud. Thanks for the video.
So happy and grateful that you've shared your watercolor paint demos. I have been painting along with you as an absolute beginner and finally feel like I'm understanding watercolor and totally enjoying myself. I plan to paint along with all 400+ videos! Truly a gift to myself of a relaxing hour of creativity. Thank you!!
Lois I adore your work and your presentation. I'm devouring all of your content and trying my best to pick out any pointers to try and improve. Your skies are always divine!
Your new brushes seem to becoming more and more popular with watercolorists... you had me worried initially, but my word, you pulled it off! Excellent painting! 🙏🎨
WOW..........Thank you for your lovely way of sharing and teaching Lois ! Your paintings are exquisite, I’ve learned techniques from you that my private lesson teachers never shared. You are such an inspiration.....the best Christmas present. Hope your day was blessed !!
Hi Lois. I have exactly the same sky this morning ... with the same colors. Your painting is magnificent. I still love your way of teaching and your simplicity, which makes us want to try it every time. Have a nice day.
Your work is so beautiful Lois. I've recently taken up watercolour and your channel is an inspiration so thank you. I'm slowly adding to my paints and those sky colours just went to the top of my list!
Hi Lois.I admire all of your watercolour tutorial. I 'm a french watercolour beginner and apologize for my english .I try to reproduce not exalty what you have painted but "like you"! Thanks for your explanations Dominique
Merry Christmas Lois. I am relaxing a little before I go back cooking for Christmas Eve. This beautiful painting has set me in the right atmosphere of the day. Thank you for your gift of beauty.
So soft. Brilliant! This is my first video from you. I am going to look at your channel. You have a new subscriber. I have a 1" that look like yours and a 2" W&N hake that has shorter hair and is stiffer. You gave me the inspiration to use them. Thank you for sharing.
This turned out great, Lois. I don't see anything wrong with these brushes. You'll get a lot of use out of them. Beautiful sky! You've done a wonderful job! :)
Brilliant colours in the sky Lois, certainly had to use your skills with the brushes able to take more water. You've achieved good depth in this painting, thanks for sharing greatly appreciated stay safe and healthy. Good new year ahead to you and family
Beautiful painting and great recovery from that juicy brush. I love hake for applying water but really dislike painting with them. Between the loose hairs and the textures amount of water they hold I don’t enjoy them. You did a great job and allowed the painting to do what it wanted to do! Thank you for sharing!
Lois you are brave using new brushes for the first time for us! Needless to say that its SO helpful for me to watch your process working through that. So thank you! Do you have a picture of the South Downs? Being from the US I will probably never get there but I'd love to see what you're seeing. This painting tells me its lovely. I love how the sky, mist, trees et al happened. It's a beautiful painting!
love your demos. They have really helped me get back "my art spirit". TY. I must say I am learning about the colors I need to realize that yellow and blue make green and find a blue shade that doesn't blend to a green lol. I have to find blue shades with red in them so I don't get green-is that correct what are some of these shades? You mentioned one-cobalt turquoise red shade-TY. The book "Making Color Sing" has taugh me a great deal about color but still it is to my mind confusing.
Merry Christmas Beautiful way of blending colours ..yet I prefer sky should hv been little more lighter to blend with horizon & foreground. Best wishes for next..
Hi, I cannot find any of the Chinese brushes that you use on eBay. I am in America so maybe that’s the issue? Any help would be wonderful thank you and keep up the excellent work you’ve been doing
Thanks, i do use hot press but it's a much trickier paper for beginners, and here I like to do demos and tutorials that even beginners can try, and succeed with with a bit of practice, so probably not
I have the identical hake brushes, & they definitely have a learning curve. They still drop hairs on every painting I create, something to be aware of. For me, they are a "pita,". What is imperial size? 1/4 sheet? And I LOVE the gorgeous skies you always create! This one is so happy.
Thanks! Yes, they did shed some hairs, thanks for your feedback, i shall keep an eye on that in the future! 1/4 imperial sheet is 11" x 15"/28cm x 38cm
I too bought a couple of cheap brushes like those online but the hairs keep falling out! Any tips on how to “fasten” them or should I just Chuck them out and buy new??
Gorgeous! That sky is so beautiful.

That sky worked out really nicely. Nice fresh looking image.
Lois, how well you feel the light. Beautiful work, and sky is especially beautiful.
I love how loose you are here with your painting! It makes such a nice misty effect, perfect for winter :) I'd love to get brushes like that!
Lois I adore your work and your presentation. I'm devouring all of your content and trying my best to pick out any pointers to try and improve. Your skies are always divine!
I love this , the sky looks so real-just like the sunrise over the high Weald where I am.
Very nice example of a wet in wet landscape.

Thanks, its a heavy linen-covered cardboard canvas for painting with oils or acrylics, i use it as a board instead
