Avaryl and I had the same 90’s childhood 💕 Love that Predator was mentioned (same director) Sending you guys holiday cheer and wishing you joy and prosperity for the New Year 🥰
Millennial here, checking in, this is one movie I have NEVER seen lmfao, and it’s not in my list of Christmas movies but this review is probably the only time I’ll ever see any part of the movie lmfao 🤣🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 Nollaig Shona (happy Christmas in Irish)
I’ve never seen Die Hard but I was here for the review. It’s so great learning who played such a big role in everyone’s different childhood experiences.
Yes!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE review Die Hard 3 🙏🏻 I know I’m probably alone here but I might actually like Die Hard 3 better then Die Hard. Which is saying a lot because Die Hard has always been my favorite action film. The dynamic between Willis and Jackson is so underrated in the world of great action duos and Jeremy Irons is EVERYTHING! If there was a way to have Alan Rickman in the movie then it would definitely be the best Die Hard hands down. I would love to see a review (and mostly Andrews reaction) to Die Hard 3 😂
Bob's Burgers has enhanced my viewing experience of this movie. Every time Karl comes on screen, I just hear Louise (Kristen Schaal) shouting, "I am Karl! Ze one vith ze beautiful hair!"
80s and Fabulous! Get me some Aqua net and a satin blouse top with shoulder pads and I am down for anything. Huge crush on Bruce Willis in this movie as a child.
fun fact since you mentioned Shane Black!! he was the one who came up with the name "Die Hard" - he was planning to use it himself but gave it to the producer and used "last boy scout" instead. so he did kind of have a hand in this lol
It is crazy that Robert Davi, Grand L. Bush and Andreas Wisniewski were all in Timothy Dalton Bond films although the latter was in The Living Daylights in 1987 with Davi and Bush being in Licence To Kill in 1989. The casting in this film is insanely good though, had to watch it again when it popped up that Andrew was watching!
@@johngaudet7363 I would love that! I’ve been learning a lot about what other LGBTQ+ men and women think about the franchise recently as well as perspectives from straight women so that would be really interesting.
So I just finished watching a video of a guy talking the latest Bruce Willis movies that have come out and it’s so sad how his career went down. This was his first real action role and in the video I watched, the guy who was recapping his latest movies makes a good point that when you’re as old as him, trying to maintain that cool bad ass movie persona does not work. Also I love Alan Rickman in this movie.
The anti-smoking campaign of my generation (Gen X) was a dolphin jumping out of the water and snatching a cigarette out of the smoker's mouth. "...make sure they know it...you mind very much if they smoke....yeah yeah...don't smoke!" My parents said we forced my Dad to stop smoking because of those ads.
Oh my god PLEASE do an Air Force One retro review!! It landed on Netflix earlier this year and I re-watched it for the first time in a while. It is just SO, SO GREAT. Gary Oldman just devours the scenery throughout the entire movie.
Merryerry! PS the last gunshot with the gun flare pointed at the camera was yet another Hitchcock nod. Same kind of movement and color flare was a big gag in Spellbound when the villain turns the gun on himself. The only frame of color in that film. Continuously floored at Movie Bitches reviews like this. Avaryl's depth of knowledge and Andrew's keen observations are the best fun to watch.
Fun fact about the speed thing: France and Quebec used to translate movie names differently. Speed was called "Speed" in France but "Clanche" in Quebec (clancher is a slang for "hitting it" [speed wise])
I grew up with the fourth, Live Free or Die Hard, then years later went back to see the others. Liked the first, struggled to finish the second and loved, loved, loved the third.
I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable about movies but somehow, just like Andrew, have never gotten round to seeing Die Hard . But as it was streaming on a platform I have I thought I’d watch it a few nights ago. It was pretty good. Although I prefer The Long Kiss Goodnight for Christmas action.
'Sudden death' is one of my favourite guilty pleasures lol, for a long time, 10 year old me had a massive crush on Jean-Claude Van Damme lol 🤣 I'm literally as I type this waiting for my friend so we can watch 'Die Hard' together, he lives two hours away so we're doing it online because why not right 😁
I saw it in the theatre when I was a teenager, and remember thinking: I like it. Bruce Willis a big macho 'no', but Alan Rickman 'yes'! Ridiculous and far fetched, though. Won't be many more like that. How little did I know....
After watching this the other day, I was watching Mama Mia and they have the zig-zag table with people sat at it at the reception right at the end. Just replace Goony Von Henchthug with a dancing Julie Walters and its practically the same scene.
I love DH2... All I remember from DH1 is the atrocious "German" in it. Schieß dem Fenster! ;oD I guess I was too young when DH1 came out and I was just the right age, when DH2 came to German TV.
Watching this after a first time viewing of Die Hard 2 & 3 and Avaryl has such a correct opinion of this franchise. Just look at William Sadlers ass in 2 then move on to 3.
Retro review suggestion: Sneakers(1992) the best hacker movie( or one of the best), a movie no one talks about, you can't make good hacker movies today. I thought after the best action movie maybe you consider review anther great movie in his genre.... Merry Christmas ho-ho-ho!
Quick info... Obviously i watched few clips of Die Hard 1 here and there. Coz it's staple in Indonesian late night tv movie.... But the only die hard i watched in cinema... Is actually Die Hard 5 (that awful movie with Jai Courtney), i watched it in glorious premier room (with reclining seat and popcorn)... Damn.. I dont even know what im doing in 2013.....
I was kind of coerced to watch this movie some decades ago, and I fucking loved it. I have never been interested in action movies before so this peaked my interest, but that interest died like a villain hanging out a window held by the hand of a pseudo-hero.
Hart Bochner is Jewish. That's why he said bubby. It's a Yiddish word. His character also uses loads of racial slurs, including an antisemitic one. Also, black woman in DH3 uses irony by saying "I'm gonna marry Donald Trump"
I clicked through this video about 30 times trying to find actual clips from the movie but no, every clip was something from a movie other than the one in the title.
Sorry, but I loved DH2 and hated DH3. DH3 was lame as eff. DH is classic! Saw it in theaters as a kid. Bonnie Bedelia is such an underrated actress. She was also in Salem’s Lot, Needful Things and Presumed Innocent.
Alan Rickman was not brought up enough. Love this movie
Love the Dollar Tree Snowman from that Harry Hole movie-perfect touch ✨
Bob's Burgers: (Work Hard or Die Trying, Girl Season 5 Episode 1)
"I'm agent Johnson!
"And I'm Agent Johnson!"
"And we're from the FBI!!"
😁
Holly's hair and Alan's voice need their own screen credits. Bless!
"I liked it" - "Review is over" 🤣🤣
Avaryl and I had the same 90’s childhood 💕 Love that Predator was mentioned (same director)
Sending you guys holiday cheer and wishing you joy and prosperity for the New Year 🥰
Considering my husband and I just happened to watch this last night, I'm calling this an early Xmas present!
Hart Bochner was genius in Apartment Zero
Millennial here, checking in, this is one movie I have NEVER seen lmfao, and it’s not in my list of Christmas movies but this review is probably the only time I’ll ever see any part of the movie lmfao 🤣🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 Nollaig Shona (happy Christmas in Irish)
RIP Alan, one of his best roles. Die Hard is a Christmas tradition in my house.
Genuinely can’t decide if I should share this video with my family or memorize all this information and say it when we watch Die Hard tomorrow.
I’ve never seen Die Hard but I was here for the review. It’s so great learning who played such a big role in everyone’s different childhood experiences.

Die Hard 3 and Die Hard are very well matched; i think I've probably seen Die Hard 3 more but they're both outstanding.
Bob's Burgers has enhanced my viewing experience of this movie. Every time Karl comes on screen, I just hear Louise (Kristen Schaal) shouting, "I am Karl! Ze one vith ze beautiful hair!"

Went to an ugly sweater party, precovid. Turned an old grey sweater I had into the sweater from Die Hard.
Bonnie Bedelia is the aunt of Macauley Culkin . Also she was in Sordid Lives the series as Ty's mother
"No Harrier jets." No, they waited until Die Hard 4 for that. At that point, John McClain was an unkillable superhero.
Idk why this review made me want the True Lies Retro Review now
WHERE IS THAT

I need MovieBitches to talk about some more Bond films. I feel like Avaryl has lots of thoughts
@@johngaudet7363 I would love that! I’ve been learning a lot about what other LGBTQ+ men and women think about the franchise recently as well as perspectives from straight women so that would be really interesting.

It's funny they mention Death Wish in this review, because Willis does seem to be following the late-career trajectory of Charles Bronson.
@@RLanceHunter I feel like it’s Charles Bronson meets nic cage. Anything for a paycheck I suppose
Favourite soundtrack audio bite - “Flash, Flash I love you! But we only have fourteen hours to save the earth!”
Tracy Reiner, Thornburg's assistant/Betty from A League Of Their Own is Penny Marshall & Rob Reiner's daughter
Wonder if Avaryl likes the movie "Hudson Hawk"..? 🤣
It has Richard e grant hamming it up in every scene, so I would think yes?
Please do a Schwarzenegger month! Kindergarten Cop was one of my childhood faves. Maybe that, Twins, True Lies, and Commando?
total recall!

“Again, what are you doing… what are you doing?” Made me laugh out loud VERY loudly after the oceans 13 comment. Lol
Loved seeing Avaryl’s passion for this AMAZING move!!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you both, Avaryl & Andrew ... from TruHor Honor :-)

"Die Hard on a plane" = Passenger 57, which is one of my favorite films from childhood (I had a very interesting childhood).
Bruce Willis’ undershirt gets so dirty in this movie, omg lol
This was a delightful Christmas treat!
i've done a lot of drugz and i don't wanna do them anymore, but both Requiem and Fear i adore and are one of my favorites of all time
Merry Christmas! 🎄
'Sudden death' is one of my favourite guilty pleasures lol, for a long time, 10 year old me had a massive crush on Jean-Claude Van Damme lol 🤣

The 80s Coke guy directed PCU
Sounds like Andrew needs to witness Big Trouble in Little China. It's Kurt Russell being confused af while everyone him knows what's going on haha
I saw it in the theatre when I was a teenager, and remember thinking: I like it. Bruce Willis a big macho 'no', but Alan Rickman 'yes'! Ridiculous and far fetched, though. Won't be many more like that.
How little did I know....
I liked Hudson Hawk. It's fun and silly! Anyway. Die Hard is great movie.
Yes! Please, review Romancing the Stone! It's amazing 👏
Love Hudson Hawk 💖 😃 I mean the hiest songs alone ...
After watching this the other day, I was watching Mama Mia and they have the zig-zag table with people sat at it at the reception right at the end. Just replace Goony Von Henchthug with a dancing Julie Walters and its practically the same scene.

I love Sneakers. I will watch anything with River Phoenix!
Also, I LOVED Howard the Duck sooooo much and even though I now recognize it's not a good movie I still love it.

The Bruce Willis movie, Hostage , is a good movie.
that naughty hat>>>>>>
Do it! Ahnold Week!

What movies has Andrew seen? I know I’m 7 years older but…WTH HAHA 😘
I clicked through this video about 30 times trying to find actual clips from the movie but no, every clip was something from a movie other than the one in the title.
And not one word about Carl Winslow?
Supergirl 1984 Retro Review please ❤️
“Jackie Brown” is another soundtrack that has clips from the movie on, and I heard it before seeing the movie. I’m definitely pro “Fear and Loathing”
Back then Bruce Willis had some hair
He smoked in airports, no one cared
And in the end, Alan Rickman
Fell out of a window, boo hoo
Die Hard, Home Alone, & Love Actually are the best Christmas films.
Romancing The Stone is sooooooo good. Ugh.
Buddy ball ball
Merry Christmas 🎁🍷🍷🎁

Thanks bitches!
If you combine toxic masculinity, racism & explosions you get this movie
I was born in 1988 too Andrew! 😃👍🏼🍷
