I remember the oils from multiple concerts in the late 70's and early 80's. I can say with all my musical knowledge that they are one of the best bands that ever there was not to mention their messages which STILL S T A N D TODAY
I feel so lucky to have been all 3 nights at this tiny club, Martin told me after one of the shows that they hadn't played a place this small since the 70's.
I was at this show at the front of the stage - probably the back of my head in the video - a truly religious experience - that they are now returning to the stage at the same time as the resurgence of worldwide fascism is clutch! Thank you for posting ~
love this band! amazing, inspiring, original.. make me remember my Young age and the album "diesel and dust" I just couldn't keep aering. with others, they pushed me to practicing music. regret I've never been to a concert.
They were never afraid of their back catalog or b-sides, this crowd didn't know what it was hearing that night! What an unusual set: Truganini Power and the Passion Dreamworld You May Not Be Released (!) What Goes On White Skin Black Heart My Country E-Beat King of the Mountain Cemetery in my Mind (early version) Comfortable Place on the Couch One Country Forgotten Years U.S. Forces The Dead Heart Blue Sky Mine Don't Wanna Be The One (Encore) Blot Best of Both Worlds Beds are Burning
+Robert Daniels If you check out the "Oils on the Water" show from the 1980s you'll see the same thing. They switched back and forth more than once over the years.
+Timothy Durbin Yeah, I just watched another Oils on the Water clip the other day and noticed that - I've watched Oils on the Water numerous times, but clearly failed to notice or remember that they were switched for that show, too. The 9 times I saw them they were always Jim, right, and Martin on the left.

Great to see Midnight Oil playing the smaller places... it's like watching a 1978 Oils gig at the Antler Hotel in Sydney

E-Beat is one of my very favorite Oils tunes. First live version I've ever heard. This is an awesome document of a nearly lost period.

In fine form here with a good mix of old-ish and new. To think they're coming back 20 years after this show... cannot WAIT!
Inspirational gives me a feeling of hope, go the Oils
I can't even believe this artifact exists. What a special gig.
Extraordinary quality! Thanks for the awesome upload.
They are returning to New York City almost 20 years from this date. Webster Hall, May 2017!!!!
