- This is Brandons 35 gallon (130 liter) SPS Nano Tank with a beautiful aquascape in that all in one set.

Stand: Stand (custom built by my dad) - Ebony stained plywood (25” w x 23” d x 34” t); Canopy - Ebony stained plywood (25” w x 23” d x 14” t)
Sump: No true sump, just the back compartments of the AIO
Grow-out tank: No grow-out tank yet. But a small one is in the works so I have a place to put frags when I need to cut them!
Protein skimmer: Tunze Comline DOC 9004 DC
Carbon/phosphate filtration: BRS ROX 0.8 GAC run passively 24/7 in a media bag (changed once per month); no GFO
Return pump: Innovative Marine Mightyjet Midsize AIO DC Return Pump
Water circulation: 2 Ecotech MP40QD set to Reef Crest Mode anti-sync at approximately 40-50%
Lighting (display): ATI Sunpower 6x24w T5 fixture (running 2 ATI Blue Plus, 3 ATI Coral Plus and 1 Giesemann Tropic 6500k) plus 1 18” ReefBrite Lumi Light Pro Actinic Strip
Lighting (refugium): Innovative Marine Chaetomax 18w Refugium Light
Calcium/alkalinity/magnesium dosing equipment: Old-School 3 channel Kamoer Dosing Pump (going on 6 years old)

Absolutely amazing... sometimes I think smaller tanks > big tanks because it feels more "personal", I don't know. Maybe it's one of those grass is greener on the other side things.

There is no sump, it’s an all in one tank the filtration chamber is in the back of the aquarium.

Ill add one more tidbit of advice to this as far as whats better vs something else as i think this is a perfect example.
As you point out, 130L. Its not the biggest thing you can find but you see how it looks? You see how hes done things right vs cheap? Take a hint from this tank.
You could easily get a setup 3x this size for a price. If youre on a budget, its not going to be as nice as this due to costs. So you get a smaller tank that for the same money as the bigger one, you can stock it fully with greater ease. Additionally it costs less for the gear for a smaller tank.
Wnen i had my old nano, i had this tbing that lifes too short; do it right. So i thought albeit expensive still, what if i had a smaller tank but did it really right? 🤔
I think it was 400 or 500 us? All total for stocking it and such, i had a few corals in and live rock. I used the tropic marin salt too. 👍 great stuff! I highly recommend it. At 82F? Maybe 84F tops? 1.026 SG with RODI water...boom!
My only regret? The light hood failed and money killed it. Other than that, i had no regrets. It was really beutiful. You could go to a chain retailer and get a standard size aquarium thats maybe a little smaller than that. Stock it and equip it like this guy did? I think youd enjoy that more than a 55 or 100+ gal setup as its done right. Less problems. Visually? Its a little slice of a tropical paradise.
Ive thought about something near that size shown here and stocked as densely if i get the chance. Just look at it! Smaller and better to me is worth it more than bigger and OK. This guys setup i think is an excellent example of that.

I think having a 36 inch 60 gallon combined with a 220 6 ft gallon tank is the ultimate combination of having a small but not too big and big but not too big combination

Looks great, but I’d probably switch out the mp40s for mp10s, as they’re a bit of an eye sore on the scape.
Power and money I have a good feeling this was necessary. I the spread needed to kill dead spots in a tank with this little water, and this much coral would be ridiculous.
