Because Triton is so concentrated I had to add the wave pump. It was immediately precipitating and falling to the bottom of the sump. Easily fixed with the tiny pump and you're right, it does keep the sump a little cleaner 😁
I'm also raising coral in Korea. Almost the same equipment in foreign countries. You're using it. The video list coral is so pretty, periodically. I'll keep an eye on you. Thank you for the good video. I wish you happiness.
Was great to have a detailed run through of your sump mate, a good tip on the "soda lime" too, some of the products that add reefing tax are ridiculous, the clarisea is an awesome bit of kit, cant wait to upgrade so I can get one!
@@NanoTankReefer Yes please that would be super helpful. I love your setup trying to copy it. I unfortunately have the same issue with my red sea skimmer.
Yeah that red sea skimmer is one of my worst reefing purchases. Thankfully my LFS were cool about everything and let me just return it and pay the extra for the nyos
The most difficult part of reef tank is maintaining the live corals. My tank with dead corals combined with colorful fake corals look like this. lol! Fake corals are made of natural coral crumbles and they look and feel real on hand and they are perfect when put underwater.
I’m subbed.. one suggestion or constructive criticism really is you should start your playlist with older vids first then newer vids last.. that way ppl can watch your tank progress over time and not have to keep searching though vids to find next vid. I plan to get into reffing with the 250 soon
Have you cleaned the sump before taking this video? Looks extremely clean. I have the same size Clarisea, but some particles (like a dust) still pass even through fleece, so the bottom is slightly covered by this dust.
Honestly there's not much thought behind it 😂 I just dont like any metal in the water 24/7. I know there's zero risk of it rusting but it's now just a habit to take it out and place it where it is
Great video. I love the idea of having a wavemaker under the dosing lines, I need to copy this on my next build 👍. No UV steriliser? Why not? I've been tempted by one that's all. Thank you.
I've considered UV before but I don't have the space for it. I thought about having it mounted outside the cabinet as I'm all out of room inside. They are pretty ugly pieces of equipment so I decided against it 😂
Hello! Thanks for sharing your Sump. I have one qustion, don´t you strugle with air bubbles in your GHL Dosing Pumps tubes , I am strugle with bubbles :(
Is this Clarisea SK-3000 with 10 cm rolls? I have an option to buy Bubble Magus ARF-S (10 cm/25 m) or ARF-M (15 cm/25 m) at the same price, but I'm not sure if extra 50% of roll surface is worth loosing quite a lot of extra space in the sump. What would you choose? Tank size is same as yours, only different sump.
It's just the same as having a skimmer and a filter socks. The roller removes the undissolved organic waste and the skimmer removes the dissolved organics. Having a roller means I don't have to change out socks every 3 or 4 days
Hi, When you fitted the Clarisea what sump modification was needed? I gather removing the two filter socks, but did you have to remove any internal walls or add internal walls? Thanks
Hello- Great video! extremely informational..just a quick question, I have a 250 as well and wanted to get this clarisea and wanted to ask if you had to modify your sump in order for it to fit?
I have the same tank as yours and also have the same clarisea installed. I like the skimmate collected by your nyos skimmer. Im using bubble magus curve 5 skimmer but havent had luck to have that kind of thick skimmate i see in urs. My nitrates are ok but cant seem to bring my phosphate down. Not sure if it would help if I upgrade the skimmer. What are your thoughts? And do u mind sharing your nutrient and parameters?
My phosphate is controlled by using lanthanum chloride. The skimmer plays a key part but I do have to dose lanthanum to the tank to remove the excess phosphates. Without lanthanum dosing my po4 reading is 0.1 and I bring it down to 0.04
Thats what I started to use too. I am trying out dosing Brightwell Phosphate-E. PO4 is now 0.17, down from 0.5 3 weeks ago. But im dosing up to 15ml/ day now so im thinking it could get expensive. Anyway thanks for sharing.
Hiya, great video to show the overview of your sump. Could I kindly ask you something, I am in the process of buying a Red Sea Reefer 170, would you recommend me to do the same that you did regarding taking the filter socks out and putting the Clarisea? or an overkill for the Reefer 170? thanks a lot mate, have a great day,
Nice video thanks- could you do a video explaining how do you use your GHL System and if you would buy it again or would you go another route, like the APX, the Hydros or another, is this equipment going to be here for a while who knows. It has always call my attention- with APX is always been here and always backwards compatible, and they keep improving it. I am inclining for the Hydros so far I really like it and I think I am going that route, it is easy reliable and seems promising I just hope it will be here for a while. Not many people explain about this Device ReefBum has it but does not explain much either.. any how only if you can if not I understand have a good day and thanks for the videos... nice tank..
Take away the monitoring and dosing and just leave what is under the tank. You will see a decline if everything is left to manual. Considering you won't have time to dose and test yourself. This tank is not as simple as you think.
I like the wave pump below the dosing lines. No precipitate and keeps your sump more clean.👍
Because Triton is so concentrated I had to add the wave pump. It was immediately precipitating and falling to the bottom of the sump. Easily fixed with the tiny pump and you're right, it does keep the sump a little cleaner 😁
Nice set up with good kit. 👍 Keep the content coming.
Cheers dude, I sure will 😁
Got myself a red sea 170, that DIY cabinet idea is smart. May look into some shelving on top of my sump. Too much height space
Nice clean sump! I love looking at “under the hood” tank vid to get some inspiration
You and me both dude!
Tanks looking mega mate loving the channel

Defo need to get a co2 scrubber. Never really thought about looking for lime soda other that aquatic shops. Great vid mate

@@NanoTankReefer yeah I definitely want to upgrade to a bigger tank next year, still not decided on what one yet tho mate
Red sea are ok but if I were to go for another off the shelf tank it would probably be a Waterbox
Damn that roller is cool!
Pretty neat isn't it! It's alot less maintenance than filter socks believe me!
Really nice
Setup!!!

Would love a guide on how you installed your clarisea. Looking to do the same thing
Unfortunately I didn't record any footage of the Clarissa install. If you want I can give you the link to the reef to reef thread I used

Nice walk through your sump video Tris. Does the dirty roller matt smell at all??
Surprisingly not... Or maybe I'm just so used to the smell of fish 💩 I don't notice it 😂

I appreciate the sub dude 😎
I have the same skimmer they are fantastic.

looking great bro

Attach your intake on co2 scrubber to the top of skimmer and it will be a recirculating co2 scrubber, really saves a ton on co2 media.
Wow!

Filling that hidden RO water container must be a pain, especially trying not to spill water
I just siphon a 25L barrel of RO in once weekly bud. Piece of cake and zero spills 🙂

I’m sorry but this is not a basic filter setup
Mechanical filter, skimmer and some media. I would say it's pretty basic. No refugium or algae reactor
That is not simple. It costs many hundreds of dollars.
