This is the most difficult Death Grips album to appreciate at first, yet, their best work, the crystal clear production, the bjork samples, the cryptic lyrics, the IDM feel that it has, 10/10

At first listen a very disjointed and weird album but it grew quickly to be one of my top 3! The Björk vocal samples were played entirely on a V drum set by Zach Hill. That's how the songs were written and arranged. Amazing.

the bjork samples were actually programmed as midis on v-drums. so every time a bjork sample plays, especially towards the end, that's zach playing

I don’t see how this half isn’t abrasive 😅. I love the fact that it’s so surreal that it comes from a different world, that’s the appeal to me. Makes me feel validated in my weirdo and freak qualities, so you talking about how those things put you off reminds me of all the times I’ve alienated people and been outcasted because of it 🥴

Yeah, people talk about this album as if it's not easily the hardest first listen in their entire discography.
EDIT: I just realized you were responding to DAVECHER and not responding to how a lot of people talk about this album; my bad. The kind of abrasiveness he's talking about, absolutely. But a lot of people talk about this album like it's a good jumping off point.

Damn he said the outro to big dipper was boring that's whack, the production through the entire album (including the Bjork samples) were triggered by Zach Hill playing on a V-Drum kit, that whole outro piece was Zach just ripping the kit apart I think it's really cool
