@Shinya You are correct. But this is not very clear. It took me too long to realize how to do it than it should. They should have a use on board toggle like on g hub
Dude, the Aluminum case, the floating switch and key, the vibrant colors, the smooth tactility. This is the ultimate keyboard for me. I feel like I wanna stock pile them lol. I have the Aqua, but im consider getting red linear so i can switch them out. I like Tactile for FPS games but for games like OSU i like Linears. Especially since they fixed the software and now able to save 3 presets to keyboard
Love the channel! Gotta say I do prefer the ads being at the beginning of the video personally. Kinda throws off the flow of the video for me. But no biggie
Appreciate the feedback but guys my size don't get a say in the matter when you're working with a company as big as Squarespace. Its at the advertisers request.
I've taken apart this same series of keyboards and they do have a small amount of lube on the stabilizers but its extremely inconsistent and even missing on some stabs.
Great review, Brian. I hope HyperX is watching. Their hardware is good (keyboard and mouse)... but HyperX, please fix your Ngenuity software. Also, nice cat! Is that the BadSeed Tech editor? ;)
Fully agreed. I sold my Hyper X Alloy RGB, mostly due to the poor software that eats up disk space like no ones business (over 1 GB!!! for not even half the features Corsair's software does...).
just ordered it! will be here tomorrow! i’ll update on the keyboard, i currently have the tekware phantom 87. thanks to you and frank, i was fully convinced
Would like to see more audio content such as audio interfaces, headphones, DAC/AMPs etc. And would looooooove to see you getting into the mic game as well! Keep it up my bearded friend!
As far as I can tell, HyperX switches are most likely made by TTC. I believe these are similar to TTC Browns but with tighter tolerances and a raised and more intense tactile bump.
Is it just me or is the quality better? Keep it up brotha! You're one of the few UA-camrs that can keep reviews direct and entertaining at the same time, God bless!
Ngenuity can now be minimised to taskbar, still havent added many other lighting effects but the software is smoother overall I feel, have no regrets with my tkl version of this
Brian P I just want to say your videos are a joy to watch and you are one of the best personalities I have ever seen on UA-cam. Keep up the amazing work
I got super excited for a second because when I saw that they had aqua switches I thought that you meant that they added zealios aqua zilent switches lmao Great vid
I would love to see larger UA-camrs like you to lube the stabs as well since they're plate mount they're relatively easy to lube without desoldering.. that's what I did with my keyboard and it really made it sound a lot better than before.
if the software situation wasn't so bad I think this would be my perfect dream keyboard. I'm honestly so disappointed in where keyboard are right now it seems every keyboard has at least one fatal flaw that prevents it from being a viable option and companies are discontinuing older keyboard that more represent my needs/preferences making them impossible to obtain, especially new.
I have the tenkeyless version of the Origins. With the aqua switches a little lubing goes a long way in terms of stabilizer feel/ sound which sounds better/ far less rattling along with a more refined and better tactile feel than a modified MX brown (MX browns out of the factory don't feel all that great and Cherry needs to stop resting on its laurels).
You could run the coil to the left then loop it back around (coil to the left, 'u turn' the cable back to the right) I think that would solve the cable issue. Well make it better at least.
Good review. I was starting to get impatient, wondering if he was going to let me hear the keys, but there he was! lol Thanks for your review. Very informative.
I really think it might be this new recorder - I'm literally typing on it right now and its loud but not loud and pingy like the video. Probably gotta ditch that thing.
I feel like the full keyboard would sell better if it had dedicated multimedia keys, kind of like Logitech g810 orion spectrum. The scroll bar for sound is so great, why would you want to press those keybinds to change volume
Just as I was thinking about a black logo, you showed the TKL one. Definitely a much better look. Wish they did the same to the spacebar too, that logo it's just not really nice to look at.
I have the NK65 keyboard by novel keys which also has the usb port on the right side. I just lay my coil right to left then the straight cable off the back of my desk into pc.
Towards the end of the video you clicked a keyboard on the right, which was quiet. Was that a TKL keyboard? If not, can you recommend a non-mechanical fullsize TKL keyboard?
Best alternative to HyperX Aqua????? I absolutely fell in love with these switches today however HyperX does not sell the switches (and the HyperX keyboards are sort of meh with god awful software to boot). I loved how stable they felt, really smooth - just the perfect fit (also their low noise level is perfect). Really need help finding the closest alternative given the previous stated limitations .... Gateron or Kailh browns perhaps? (lazy answer is obviously cherry browns - - but I'm asking the community, of all the tactiles, which would be the closest to the Aqua.... please please please
Not everyone runs with a custom coiled cable on their desk as they are not really cheap. After you spend 100€+ on a keyboard expecting to cough another 20-30€ for a cable is a hard sell. I myself, and I suspect other as well, do enjoy the cable on the right side as the PC with a TG usually sits on the right side of the desk and this way the cable management is a lot cleaner.
You say the ABS show fingerprints (2:49) but isn't the part you actually touch in the video covered by the dye and therefore not actually ABS? I might very well be wrong and am wondering this since I have an ABS board with dye sub myself [Corsair K70 series] as far as I can tell - I am very new to this.
I had a similar keyboard with silver speed switches and didn't have an issue with NGENUITY. I could close it and everything still worked but maybe we're talking about different things
i got this from 50 bucks in mexico its really good , i tried gateron brown but didnt liked it im really happy with the aqua switches for typing but kind of makes me wonder how good a more famous switch like the glorious panda actually are then ? would be better than this?
Would DEFINITELY take this in a TKL for sure. It was pretty weird playing with a full size board again. Had it at a weird angle in the video because my usual angle had me smacking my thumb against the board the whole time lol
I have been using their older model, the "Alloy FPS RGB". Their software wasn't a Microsoft Store app at first and it allowed you to save your presets on the memory of the keyboard, so they downgraded a lot with that shitty app.
I currently run hte TKL version of this board and have loved it for gaming. I've recently started working more remote so working and typing all day and that keyboard has gotten loud and annoying. Are these Aqua switches swappable? If so what would probably be my best option for another quieter switch that could still be good for gaming? Thanks
I do lots of gaming but also lots of schoolwork and typing. I have a membrane right now and I was thinking of getting this keyboard. I'm not sure what I like because I haven't felt them. Should I get the red switch or Aqua?
Really appreciate the no-filler information delivery. A video respectful of my time
cant believe its 2020 and companies still think its ok to require you to run their software 24/7 with no on-board memory.
Was honestly really surprising. It had me at MS Store app and then it finished me with "minimize to taskbar" lol
wish synapse could save ONE single Lighting profile on the keyboard/mouse itself, but no it doesnt.
Why I would not buy another Razer product even tho the Mamba is not bad tbh
Right? And I guess Mac and Linux users just don't exist either. What were they thinking?
@Shinya You are correct. But this is not very clear. It took me too long to realize how to do it than it should. They should have a use on board toggle like on g hub

Closest to Zealios compared to the other he listed, which is still an odd comparison considering the complete difference in spring weight.
At the end, does it feels more like linear? Or Is it closer to a clicky switch because of the bump?
