I have the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB + the Pulsefire Surge RGB and it has always been like this for me. Even when my pc starts up it already has the right color I set for it
The cable on the right side makes sense to me. Seeing as more and more people have temperated glass sides on their case and RGB lighting so they will have the PC on the desk to show it off that largely means placing it on the right hand side of desk and the cable being on the right of the keyboard then means its closer to the case
I picked this keyboard up about a month ago, and I have to say that its the best one I have gotten. Everything about it for the price its amazing, It's very solid all around the switches feel great for gaming, and sounds good too. Hyper X gear is always high quality :) I have the Alloy FPS TKL with Cherry MX Blues and it's lasted really well. The metal board makes a massive difference for durability
It makes perfect sense, if someone uses a wired mouse the cable usually is on the right, so the desk stay more organized with two cables near each other or together.

The cable is on the right side so you can cable manage the wire from the keyboard with the wire from your mouse, given you are using a wired mouse that is. Pretty convenient if you want to minimize desk clutter which most people using a TKL want, a clean and minimal setup. That's my spontaneous guess at least.
@xen Well not necessarily, there are still those that prefer a wired over a wireless for the reliability when gaming, and they too, can be a minimal setup kind of person, don't you think?
@Piotr Góździk well firstly, its still in beta - secondly its way less intuitive. thirdly; running through windows store is never a good sign for decent software.
Alice Vex Draconia Frost not really man. If you check out videos of people that have had their huntsman te for a while you’ll see that the stabs are still pretty rattly. Don’t get me wrong they’ve stepped up a bunch but they still have some things they need to work on
Without lube stabs will have a noticable rattle. Unfortunatly lubing stabilizers while mass producing the keyboard isn't really feasible since that is something someone would have to do by hand. I would say it is worth the effort to desolder switches where stabilizers are to remove the stabilizers and lube them which is not a difficult thing to do, just not everyone has a soldering iron and keyboard lube on them. Disclaimer: I'm a bit of an mk enthusiast so what I consider pretty simple and worth it is also pretty biased. But damn lubed stabilizers are so nice to type on. You get the deep thock sound without the high rattle sound from the larger keys that need stabilizers.
8BitLlama there are a lot of prebuilt companies that have really good stabs so it can’t be too hard. Leopold, varmilo, ducky, obins lab and more all have good stabs
You actually don't have to have the software open to sync the lighting effects. Once you have your custom lighting effect made, all you have to do is click on the Presets option and then choose which key (F1, F2 or F3) you want to sync the effect to. Once its synced, you can close the app!

I've been using this keyboard for a couple months and honestly I love it (except for the software) honestly I was doubting hyperx's keyswitches but they're probably my favorite switches that I've used.
@@Tshirtman09 honestly still works like new and the switches still feel great. Only thing is I would recommend replacement keycaps because the paint on the stock ones can scrape off fairly easily but that’s just how it is with most backlit keycaps so it’s not too big a deal and so far has only happened to 2 of my keys. The software also still kinda sucks as far as effects go but I mainly use static RGB so for me it’s not too big a deal.
Wow, what a coincidence. I purchased this keyboard last Sunday (April 19) not even knowing it was a new release from HyperX, and now I see a Frankp video on it! Thank you Frankp for reassuring me on this keyboard purchase! Can't wait for this bad boy to arrive on Monday.
I have recently done a review on this same keyboard but with the Red switches and they are also very smooth with a bit heavier force to actuate than the Cherry MX Reds, in general a really solid keyboard for 90USD and the build quality is extremely well done, it feels like a premium keyboard in the hand.
I think the cable being on the right side is a better idea. For those that like to do cable management it makes it so the mouse and keyboard cable can be closer together making routing them so much easier. I think the left or middle is just really bad design honestly.
it HAS the ability to SAVE THE LIGHT SETTINGS, the problem in this case is that you are not using the software as you should. Try to explore the software more! There is a button on the top right that you can save your profiles/presets as you can see at 6:28, then close the software or even uninstall it!! the profile will be saved!!

I was recently deciding between the huntsman TE and this hyperx TKL with aqua switches (I''ve tried the hyperx reds, too, and honestly they are one of my favorite reds on the market). Just as a heads up, my Huntsman also reverts to default lighting when I close Razer Synapse, which is a bummer. Although Razer has some lighting profiles stored that you can access without synapse by using Fn + Ctrl + (1-7), which is nice when I travel with the keyboard - I still wish you could store your own lighting profiles on the board (your custom profiles that go into onboard memory only store macros and keybindings). Ultimately, even for the price difference, I went with the Hunstman because of the doubleshot pbt keycaps (The hyperx keycaps are very low quality/flimsy even for ABS keycaps), and because I hate the Microsoft store that much (Synapse isn't through the MS store). Really enjoy your reviews and videos, keep up the great work !
When you think about it, most of the towers out there have the glass/acrylic side on the left side, so you have to place your pc on your tight side (like me). I think thats why they put the port on the right side instead of the center.
No you don't, you're wrong about the software. The keyboard has three presets F1 f2 f3, once you assign you macros and RGB setting to F1 for example then you don't need the program open anymore. As long as you are on F1 or whichever preset you chose it works
Neh, I would still prefer the Huntsman TE just because of the keyswitch stabilisers. It's a great alternative as a maraca whenever there's a party going on. _la_ _cucaracha_ _babeh_
Huntsman TE: if you want competitive advantage in switches, pbt keycaps, detachable cable on the left, better software. Alloy Origins Core TKL: aqua switches(tactile), good sound, good rgb, good price, gunmetal build. These are the good factors for both if you want.
Would recommend the Alloy Origins. Detachable cable and standard bottom row can come in very handy if you want to switch keycaps and/or replace the cable. Corsair still uses a non-standard layout so most custom sets won't fit, and their cables, whilst very thick, are often stiff and you run the risk of fraying if you move around a lot.

I love the right side USB!
I keep my stuff in the right :)
Fr, I have the usb slot on the right top side of my desk
I don’t know where I get it from, but I feel like you like the color blue.
Bro the colours in this video fit so well
Editing is on point 👌
When you think about it, most of the towers out there have the glass/acrylic side on the left side, so you have to place your pc on your tight side (like me). I think thats why they put the port on the right side instead of the center.
Dude, where did you get your wire? It looks sickkk!

No you don't, you're wrong about the software. The keyboard has three presets F1 f2 f3, once you assign you macros and RGB setting to F1 for example then you don't need the program open anymore. As long as you are on F1 or whichever preset you chose it works
Guys please like this so he can change the video as it's the only main complaint he has which isn't even an issue 😁
Just got one today, really like that forest green combo
Before this i got an ad about coffee and some old man said “its like cocaine, its good”
Neh, I would still prefer the Huntsman TE just because of the keyswitch stabilisers. It's a great alternative as a maraca whenever there's a party going on.

Is the sound boosted in the sound test? Because it sounds really loud, but it shouldn’t be super loud.
Huntsman TE: if you want competitive advantage in switches, pbt keycaps, detachable cable on the left, better software.
Alloy Origins Core TKL: aqua switches(tactile), good sound, good rgb, good price, gunmetal build.
These are the good factors for both if you want.
its better on the right side of the keyboard because its better to organize your wires from your mouse
When he was pressing on the keys it sounded like something building in a lego game
Love this keyboard! its 79.99 on Amazon now and I am seriously contemplating picking it up!
Me too
Finally ordered it! Only crap thing is that it went back up to 89.99 before I could order it... RIP
Should I get this or the Corsair k70. It's on sale for 120 and I have 10 percent off
Would recommend the Alloy Origins. Detachable cable and standard bottom row can come in very handy if you want to switch keycaps and/or replace the cable. Corsair still uses a non-standard layout so most custom sets won't fit, and their cables, whilst very thick, are often stiff and you run the risk of fraying if you move around a lot.
i love ur vids frank keep up the good work dawg
Thanks so much this review really helped me
