A few years ago a couple of us went to McNairy County Tennessee to explore some of the history of Buford Pusser. Several people in different areas of the county gave us pretty much the same information. Many told us to go to the state line and check out the Shamrock Motel and the White Iris. They also cautioned us not to mention that we were looking into Sheriff Pusser's history for any reason as some of the wrong people may find out and think that we were doing an official investigation, which could be very dangerous for us. Amazing how that could happen over 30 years after Sheriff's Pusser's death. We found that he was a great man and may be gone, but he still Walks Tall.
