Dwana, I’m reading you book now. A great book! May you rest with your daddy and momma now in heaven. You were strong like your daddy, you made him and your family proud!
I have been a huge Fan ever since the original movie premiered in early 70s. I was at that movie even though I was barely a teenager! Well, I finally accomplished a life- long wish to visit Sheriff Pusser Home & Museum yesterday 11-2-24! Met Ms.Dottie and really enjoyed the Tour and meeting Ms.Tina and Mr.Steve that sold me and my gf Amber souvenirs from the Gift Shop and even got pictures of me holding the actual sticks Sheriff Pusser used during his Career as Sheriff of McNairy County Tennessee! Visited the Family that is Adamsville Cemetery. Also had pics and videos of Highway Memorial of Sheriff Pusser. I definitely will return someday again and highly recommend everyone to visit these wonderful Museum and learn about the amazing Life of Buford Pusser Family.❤️🙏
I was 13 when that happened. I remember watching the movie and your Dad instantly became my hero. You have had a tragic childhood and I wish you all the best for the rest of your life. Your Mom and Dad will always have a place in my heart. Take care Dwana. Frank Dagg Maple Ridge B.C.
What a fine lady inside and outside beautiful, who has been through so much. I read her book, "Still Walking." Very good read, and such honesty, and grace, and love.
Met Mr. Pusser while him an Dewanna were vacationing in Florida, an were staying at Holiday Inn. Spent 1 afternoon talking about a million things. Felt like I knew him all my life. He was such a down to earth, passionate about his life, kind of man. We parted as new friends, promising 2 see each other again sometime, somewhere. He told me of a premonition that he dreamed of having an "accident of somekind" and not being able to "see his daughter",. He was telling me this, his eyes tearing up. Very shortly, within days of this, he was gone. Such a sad, sad ending to a courgeous man who had the heart of a lion.
Wow thanks for sharing this poignant story. There are liars and bearers of false against this courageous, one in million man. Evil hates good and will lie like a dog; to take him down. So many tried to kill him constantly. I guess that was the Lord getting him ready to meet his maker. I feel sorry his daughter had to grow up parentless. I know that Buford's mother was there for her while she was alive. Sad, sad story of a great American Hero. Abraham was killed for trying to do good. He defended a catholic priest who was sharing the bible to his church. That is no no for catholics. They have their own bible which is not allowed for the parishoners and they jesuits never forget and that's why he was killed. Very sad world we live in. Fortunately, Jesus is coming back VERY SOON!
Dwana , I got to tour the museum, what a great experience , thanks so much for not giving and opening the museum ! What a great way to honor your dad !!!
I moved from Jackson, TN to Huntsville, AL to work for NASA in 1965. I recall reading fascinating newspaper stories about your father's exploits while being the sheriff. I've seen all the movies but there was one news article that I remember that was one of the most heroic of all, yet this incident was never shown in any of the movies. He was attempting to arrest a man who was trying to flee in a pickup truck. As the man started driving away, he jumped on the step and struggled with the driver as he sped away. The suspect shot him twice but the sheriff still overpowered him and put him in jail! Enjoyed hearing your stories on the Frankie Lax Show today.
Yes your dad was a American Hero. I just finished watching all three of the first three movies again. And watching you tube videos about him. I wish we had more like him.
Rest in peace honey. Your father I will honor my whole life. You were soooooo beautiful. Thank you for sharing your life story with us. Love you. And miss you Dwana.

Me too. Have you read her book "Walking On." It is so good and so full of her life and dreams, and not once is she bitter from all the hatred that was taken out on her family. I just read it again the second time. I was wondering if she was okay since I heard she had MS and we hadn't heard anything more from her until this.
