This was the best interview I have ever seen regarding Lillian Axe. The most in depth complete history of this band. The 1st mention of origins when Stiff members joined the band. So Midwest musicians joined this New Orleans songwriter/musician to put out music that was way ahead of alot of music being released at the time!
i'm overjoyed to see that both of you got to speak with the man who created years of musical enjoyment, and the soundtrack to so many of your memories. he was fantastic to take the time, go in-depth, and answer the questions that you have had for years. what a moment, and i hope you both savor it for a long time. i'd love to have that moment with a lot of artists, especially snake and rachel. would love to hear the stories behind a lot of the songs they created. great work guys!
Wasn't that amazing? Never imagined we'd be chatting for two and a half hours. Man, I am right with you. I'd love to hear Snake and Rachel's story, from beginning to end. Thanks for all your support, Brother.
You guys seriously need a satellite radio show on hair nation or something… you two have such good chemistry and do a good interview… thanks for sharing this with everyone!
Excellent interview, been a Lillian Axe listener since the 80's until today. Have got to meet Steve multiple times and is always great with the people.
Thanks a ton, Matt! This interview was a blast to have--I mean, hav eyou seen a more positive and engaging guy than Steve Blaze? Unbelievable. Thanks for your support, Brother!
YESSSS!!! Thank YOU! As a long time actually since album 1 Lillian Axe fan ive wanted to hear Steves past so bad! How he became imo the best rock songwriter ever!! You guys really did great!
This was like watching the Trump, Rogan interview.. Couldn't finish it at once but knew I would watch it all when time permitted. Thanks guys. Legendary. Always hoped for a Stryper, Lillian show.
Great interview! I play in a band with Steve and I learned new things about him from this interview. He is exactly as you see him in this interview. He is an inspiring human being and has made me a better musician since I started playing music with him.
@@HairMetalGuru419 I play in a cover band called Sledgehammer with Steve, Mike Maxx, Danny King, and Brent Graham. We play around the New Orleans area.
Best show ever! What a phenomenal guy. Nice, smart, and humble. I must admit I haven't listened to a ton of Lillian Axe but, I will be checking our more for sure. Definitely the type of guy it would be a pleasure to support. Thanks for sharing this with the world. 💛
You are so welcome, and thank YOU so much for watching and for being such a great friend! Wasn't he just an inspiring guy? Like, talking to him just made me wanna do better in life, ya know? Awesome. Thank you, Lorrie!!
This was such a great interview. I'm so happy Steve is still going strong, I can't express how happy this makes me or how lucky I feel for that. He's also such a nice, approachable guy with a good head on his shoulders. A real role model if I've ever seen one.
Wasn't that amazing. I was actually feeling inspired just listening to this guy's positivity and friendliness--like, he has every reason to be jaded and disappointed, but, no, he's still convinced the best is ahead. I want that attitude for myself. Appreciate you, Brother!!
Great interview Gentleman, and Steve!!! I still contend that Grunge did not kill the 80’s Metal scene, I think MTV and radio stations did and not sure why but that’s my gut feeling. I think Steve confirmed that that very few 90’s bands touring compared to 80’s metal.
Cool interview. Saw these guys on the tour in support of the first record at a place called Fat Jaks in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Loved this band back then.
I must admit, I know the name, but I heard nothing of these guys in Australia. I saw them mentioned in metal mags in the day, but never saw their vids or heard their songs when I was into this stuff. I have since listened to a few songs and think I had better take a deeper dive. Steve comes across as a genuine dude and this was great listening/viewing. His analogies are fantastic! Not much of an 'interview' - you guys had trouble getting questions in - Steve just went with it and was so open and kept going. Congrats on the channel and well done. 7Rock
7Rock!! I appreciate it, Brother. Start with "Love and War" and "Poetic Justice" as the first two albums I'd recommend. You're right, he kind of ran the interview, we just kind of listened and asked for clarification from time to time. But it was awesome!
Has to be, at least for me for the reason of all the new bands I know and love now. Over the past two months I've bought so many albums mentioned on this channel, especially ones Guru and Bryan mentioned. At this time now I am loving Vain's no respect, Danger Dnagers's Screw it and Baton Rouge's Shake your Soul. More to come I'm sure as I've bought 15 or more CDs from the bands mentioned on this channel but have not gotten though them (I save listening to them for my drive to and from work) so I still have more to listen to and enjoy. One thing also that I enjoy is listening to the whole album, not something done much any more with say iTunes where one just buys the one or two song that are known or liked. This way going about it to me is taking me back (early to mid 90's for me as a pre teen and teen) when you bought the whole thing (album) and gave it a listen. I always try and tag Guru and Bryan on Twitter when I post about this great music as they opened a great thing to me as a new listener to many of the mentioned bands and them being them and the info they give in the vids made it a bit magical for me this past two months and I always want to remind them of that. So yeah the best channel and thanks again to Anthony (Guru) and Bryan 🤘
This is such a great interview. All the Lillian Axe info you could want in one place. On a separate note regarding under appreciated bands it would be awesome if you guys could do a tour or maybe just a couple shows with Leatherwolf.
Steve’s mall story is totally true. I worked on the second floor there at MusicLand at Metro Center from 1987-1989 and every time Steve showed up the rock fans would bombard him. He usually seemed to frequent the lower level where Camelot Music stood at the center.
I've always been a huge Lilian fan since the first album. Stevie is a very underrated player I loved the little classical sounding parts in the solos - a bit Nuno like in that respect. Love & War makes my top 50 albums of all time list (I cheated and included both that one and Poetic Justice in the same spot)
I'm right with you, Brother, Love and War and Poetic are so amazing--I bounce back and forth between which one is my favorite. So underrated. Thanks for always supporting the channel, Brother.
This is James Anthony you guys killed it with interview Steve Blaze is so underrated as a guitarist it is really sad Lillian Axe in general is very underrated their first four albums to me are perfect I remember seeing the Show A Little Love video then I was hooked on that band Anthony you and Bryan ruled on this loved it like I always say I got your back my brother
James, thank you so much... you're absolute right, Steve and LIllian are so underrated. Man, I appreciate you always standing up for me and supporting everything I do... I won't forget that.
Casey! Wasn't that awesome? He just inspired me listening to him talk. What an amazing attitude. Hey, Brother, thank you so much for your support, seriously, it means a TON.
Ok. Commenting here, at 36:34 of the video. I NEED a collab with Blaze and Jason Bieler.... NOW. And hit me over the head with a club if it's already happened and I don't know.
More people need to know about this band and why aren't they played on Hairnation (Not that I listen anymore. Too much repetition.) The 1st four Lillian Axe albums are CLASSIC! The album to start with is "Love and War".
Lillian Axe was better than Britny Fox, yet Britny Fox got on the Poison Open up and say ahh tour for 4 months, 50+ shows, but BF was on Columbia not the graveyard.
While I am a huge Britny Fox fan, you're right, Britny got the great tour, and Lillian got the shaft. And "The graveyard," comment made me laugh... ;-)

He's just an awesome dude, seriously. Hey, man, thanks for watching and the kind words, I appreciate it!
Finally got to watch the whole interview, that was top notch! It was awesome hearing all those amazing Lillian Axe stories from Steve!

Stevie blaze is a favorite of mine for many years
Same here, man. What a great dude and great player
Great to see a rock star that's humble and down to earth... Good interview.
Right?! Just a genuinely good guy. And thanks, man, I appreciate it.
Wow I never would have imagined his little brother was one of the first drummers in BLS that is so awesome to learn this 🤟
Right? I had no clue. Amazing stuff
Great interview! I play in a band with Steve and I learned new things about him from this interview. He is exactly as you see him in this interview. He is an inspiring human being and has made me a better musician since I started playing music with him.

Every time I see Steve in an interview he is so down to earth and kind as hell. This guy gets it. Cool interview Anthony 👍🏼
Thanks, man, I really appreciate it. And you are exactly right. He's one of the good ones.

I've gone to see Lillian live since the Circus Comes to Town days, pre-record label. Hands down, still my favorite band.
Wow, that'a amazing! Hey, thanks for watching, man, I appreciate it.

Appreciate it, Christopher! You're right, there were a lot of factors that led to the downfall of hair metal. Thanks for watching, man!
Cool interview. Saw these guys on the tour in support of the first record at a place called Fat Jaks in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Loved this band back then.
Wow, I would have loved to see one of those early shows. I've actually never seen them live--uggh. Anyway, thanks for watching, man, I appreciate it!
What a nice guy! And great interview Guru!!!

Thanks Anthony. This interview was awesome! 👍 I clicked on the video as soon as I saw it.

Look at the Guru's eyes light up when Steve mentions 'The Day I Met You'. I have heard him talk about this song before :)
