When Harry Potter's name came out of the Goblet Of Fire, many of the students turned on him, calling him a cheat, but why? Didn't Fred and George try to cheat too?

Harry Potter Folklore I love your videos keep on making them and let the haters hate
Wizard's parent: "Oh boy, I can't wait to see my child come home from Hogwarts."
Teacher: "We hate to inform you that your child died in the Tri Wizard Competition."
That's why I think that students should have got parental permission to join, just like they required permission to go to Hogsmeade.
School students really shouldn't sign up to fight dragons without their parents knowing about it.
@@elephant35e They didn't need parents permission because only students of age were allowed to enter, which in the wizarding world in 17... their parents couldn't have said no... and the dursley wouldnt give af on harry behalf.
Tournament
Now imagine what muggle parents would think of hearing their child wizard die in tri tournament.
@@DonnyDunne And they had plenty of overseers around to minimize the dangers
Yeah the way I saw it was:
Harry's friends - YOU FOUND A WAY, WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP US?
Hufflepuffs - YOU'RE STEALING CEDRIC'S LIMELIGHT
Ravenclaws - YOU WANT GLORY
Slytherins - WE HATE YOU ALL THE TIME
Yep. Some students were convinced that Harry loved his fame and used it to get his own way when really Harry hated his fame and would rather have never been famous.
Pop Addelum Productions that's accurate except Ron comes around and hermione never hated him
Ravenclaw is the best
Ye they all didn’t know it was barty crouch jr who put Harry’s name in the goblet of fire
something doesn't add up about this whole thing Igor Karakrov
I was really irritated with Ron's reaction as Ron knew that Harry was not a fame glutton and I feel he should have believed him.
Actually he was angry because harry didn't told him
I think Ron thought that Harry lies about putting his name in the Goblet of Fire because he himself would not have resisted the opportunity to do so if Ron had the chance to enter the Triwizard Tournament, and he thought he and Harry were one in the same in this scenario. Clearly he wasn’t listening to Harry when Harry said that he didn’t want to take part in the tournament.
Same. But I understand where Ron comes from. He’s been overshadowed by his siblings, Harry’s unwanted fame, and Hermione’s intellect. This was one that became too much for him.
In the book, Hermione said that she thought Ron didn't really believe Harry cheated, and he just thought that way to make himself feel better. But at last he knew he had to face the truth, so he went and talked to Harry again.
@@iamrealishaan It wouldn't be so bad for me except he turned against his friends AGAIN in the Deathly Hallows
"HARREH, DID YA PUT YA NAME IN THA GOBLET OF FIYAH!!!" Dumbledore asked calmly.
You know he can read ones mind, plus, Harry being bad at blocking it.
Cho Chang was THE ONLY ONE who wasn´t bitching on Harry for the fact his name bursted out of the Goblet Of Fire. Great respect for her :-)
Samuel Kohi because she loved harry. I still ship HarryxCho more than HarryxGinny which just happened
Yea Cho was just the bitch who used Harry to know how Cedric died
Hurray! A fellow HarryxCho shipper! Cho seemed to have a bit of a thing for Harry with how she seemed genuinely sorry for not being able to go to The Yule Ball with him so I could see her keeping herself above the mentality that Harry was an attention hog.
Samuel Kohi others aswell such as hermione,Cedric, cho chang
I wasn’t much of a fan for Cho. To me, she comes off as wanting Harry and Cedric more because of their “celebrity” status and less because of their personality.
What if Fred and George Weasley were picked by the Goblet of Fire?
It would be awesome.
Wicked!!!
Mandalorian Marauder they both couldn't be picked
Fred would probably still die
Chloe Weaver only one could be picked
Harry got so much shit from everyone he is so unappreciated honestly. His classmates and friends turn against him so easily, even if only temporarily. Snape and Draco bullied him. The press and government tried to ruin his name when he was just trying to be a normal guy. And the dark lord wanting to murder him when all Harry wants is to go to school and eat chocolate frogs. Honestly, Hermione was the only one who never turned her back on him.
Harry Potter is underappreciated XD poor lad
Secretgirl97 Well said.
Actually Hermione kept taking Ron's side and she screamed at Harry.
Neville didn't turn his back on Harry and neither did Hagrid.
Secretgirl97 What about Ginny?
Billie Klein Was the in the book?
I really felt for Harry that time. I rmemeber Barty Crouch Jr disguised as Mad Eye Moody put his name in the goblet to get him to Voldemort. I can picture Harry angrily telling Voldemort in an image "What is with you? Showing up? Ruining my life? It's bad enough you took my parents away from me but now you've turned my classmates against me". I was most furious at Ron for turning on Harry. So we know Ron was jealous, he should know that Harry didn't ask for all the attention and fame from the very beginning, it's not his fault
Ron should have also known - his trickster brothers could not penetrate that barrier. Harry, while a decent wizard, could only have done so with the aid of either Dumbledore, Hermione or Snape, all of whom are out for obvious reasons.
I hated Ron in this movie
I think I hated his hair style even more lol
Was it because of his hairstyle?
His long hair essentially turned him into a girl that year, hence he was constantly on his period and being a little whiny bitch about Harry being chosen for the tournament.
Ron was more bearable in the book smh
Same
What if Lupin survived the battle of Hogwarts?
Lewis Devlin he would raise his son despite his worries and help Harry as much as he could into the future
*and Tonks AND TONKS
Here's an impossible task for you: what if Voldemort never kills the Potters, Peter never betrays his friends, Harry grows up normally and the events of Harry Potter changes entirely.
Takatora Toudou most likely wouldn't have happened at all. Hell he might have ended up in Slytherin and been friends with Draco.
Takatora Toudou then Trevor would have won the 1st wizarding war probaply
If it was like that, Neville would be dead since Voldemort had two choices - kill Harry or Neville and he went for Harry (it's explained better in the order of the Phoenix)
Takatora Toudou I think Harry parents would have ended up dead anyways because in the OotP the prophecy says something like "the dark lord will mark him as his equal" (I think that's what it says) Voldemort showing up to the Potters' house to kill Harry is marking him as his equal but maybe Lily and James wouldn't have died because Harry's older and the three of them could have fought together
So basically what if trelawney's prophecy was never made.
Hey I just thought of this one: What if Tom M. Riddle was adopted as a baby?
Consider him being adopted by both a normal family, and a magical one.
I also have been thinking about this as well but I think he would might have turned out the same but the events might've been different. He wasn't conceived out of love since his mom gave his dad the love potion. And I am not all that sure he would've been able to learn to love because of this.
Moosky this is interesting either way he would had went to hogwarts but could have been sorted in the same or different house. But it could turn out the same if the family didn’t truly love him
@@desbaldwin J K Rowling said if he was brought up in a loving family he would of learned how to love and mimic normal behaviour, but only if he was raised from infancy
Tom was incapable of human feelings and obsessed with control and eternal life. He would have probably killed his parents
The thing with him growing up in the orphanage made it worse but main fact lasts - he was born with the help of love potion. Therefore he simply can’t feel this emotion
When you get chosen in the tri-wizard by accident and the whole school hates you 😑
Simple... bad writing!
It's funny that when something bad happens to harry everyone rapidly turns against him...
2nd year - talks to snakes - guilty
4th year - his name comes out of the goblet of fire - guilty
5th year - claims voldemort is back - guilty
6th year - proved voldemort was back - guilty
7th year - tries to defeat voldemort and the forces of darkness - guilty
But life isn't fair? - Severus

What if Draco Malfoy went to Durmstrang like his father wanted him to?
Alex Downs then harry wouldn't be bullied and snape doesn't have to kill dumbledore unless crab or goyle do.
Alex Downs I forgot why he went to hogwarts in the end
His Mother wanted him to be closer to home
hyperzombieRS :3
It was because of his mother. Narcissa didn't like the idea of him going to school so far away.
Alex Downs hi
I always thought that Ron got angry because Harry didn't tell him that "he was entering" they talked about it before both saying that they would not want to be in it, so Ron being Harry's best friend was probably hurt because he was not told of "the plan"
for the record Gryffindor only technically started supporting Harry Potter in the tournament after he completed the first task and before that many on them were mad/annoyed that he didn't 'tell them how' he put his name in the goblet especially those who wanted the chance to compete themselves
Why did Snape like Draco that much?
I mean , Draco was a bully himself
Because Draco is a Malfoy.
Draco is Snape's godson and, well, Snape is very close with the Malfoys.
Because of James potter bullying Snape, he enjoyed the fact that his son is now getting a taste of what he got. I don't think he liked Draco a lot tho
to be completely honest, it might be that I got fanfiction mixed up with the books themselves, it's been a while since I read them and as you said, it's commonly used in fanfictions lol my bad if it's not in the books
Snape is Draco's godfather
Cedric Diggory was shown as a bright, hard working and fair minded student in the movie but in the book just about everyone other than the Hufflepuff's thought he was an air head pretty boy. Even Harry talking to him the first time thought he was an idiot.
What if Umbridge Used the Cruciatus Curse on Harry?
MasterJo Cohen it would have hurt
MasterJo Cohen I think he was one who have survived from all 3 unforgivable curses
Has Harry been under the imperius curse before? Sorry, I haven't read the book series whole.
Mayur Jethva he’s never been under 5e imperious curse
MasterJo Cohen Rafay no he has
Even his fellow Gryffindors were angry with him.
Why didn't Voldemort make a inferius out of dumbledores dead body right before the battle of Hogwarts?
DevilHunter6666 maybe he was too scared bringing Dumbledore back in any capacity since he was so great and might turn it around (impossible as far as we know, but Dumbledore), like Madara freeing himself from reanimation
HavokTheAnarchist he didnt have the perks for his conjuration skill tree
#skyrim
Well, as we all know Voldemort liked to collect trophies for his victories. I believe steeling the elder wand from Dumbledore's corpse would have qualified as a symbol of his power. Maybe once Voldemort had recovered the elder wand he felt no real need to publicise his victory further. Voldemort was a sufficiently crude wizard, he liked small but powerful gestures of his ability (like his diary, the potion surrounding slytheriens locker and favouring the imperious curse). I feel enchanting Dumbledore's body to move and attack would have been one step too far. Also he probably still feared Dumbledore in death, it is his two least favourite things. This is just my thoughts and a dealing infesting theory!
Antonio Inostros Reanimate body skill 100
Just found out about the inferi yesterday. SO disappointed they weren't in the movies.
I wish there was a memory of Tom riddle where Tom put his name in the goblet by using dark magic it would show the similarity of Tom and Harry
Hufflepuff students saw it as a insult because while Harry was a fortunate victim of events leading him to high places not all of those would be accepted by his peers and Cedric was the best student in Hogwarts the honor of the Hufflepuffs, meddling with putting Harry in it, just undermined Cedric´s value and achievements to get to where he´s at, Harry´s name being in the cup meant rules were broken even if Harry didnt put his name there and someone else did it, they didnt like the extra attention he was getting.
What if Harry was a squib? That would be definitely a game changer
Book: Did you put your name into the Goblet Of Fire, Harry? Dumbledore asked *calmly*
Movie: HARRY HARRY DIDGAPUTYERNAMEITHEGOBLETOFFIREEE?????
In the dreadful films, Dumbledore's reaction was most puzzling. Book Dumbledore just needed to make eye contact with Harry to tell that he had not entered himself. But Movie Dumbledore In Name Only (DINO) shoves him against a wall and yells at him!
Because they were jealous of harry for getting to participate in the tournament and thought he was a cheater because he wasn't old enough to be allowed to participate in it. They didn't think it was fair
I always though Harry's name coming out of the Goblet of fire was weird. Forcing him to compete was weirder. They should have voided the entry, expelled Harry and sent him to the Salem Witche's Institute or Ilvermorny to break any possible magical consequences and to get him a chance at a restart. Of course Albus had a problem. He WAS literally raising Harry like a pig so he could die at the proper moment, believing it was the only way to destroy Voldemort for good.
Have you even read the books ?! Barty Crouche was under the imperius curse the whole time by his son that's why he made Harry to participate in tournament.
True. Even in the movie, we also see there that Barty Crouch Sr. made the final decision. But it makes one wonder what he would’ve said had he not have been imperiused by his son.
Harry had a rough childhood tho. He is so advance and matured at such his young age to kill professor quirell with voldemort also killing a gigantic basilisk.
The only part that I really have a complaint about is that scene. It’s Dumbledore yelling and being furious at Harry. Whereas in the book he knew Harry had not done it and was very calm. Literally just portrayed him the opposite and it really hurt the scene.
Ron was a jealous jerk, who wanted to be famous, Hufflepufs were furious because believed Harry "steal" their glory. Draco Malfoy was enemy of Harry and used every opportunity to fight him. Ravenclaws were I guessed furious that Harry supposedly, not one of them, found a way to fool the Goblet.
woudnt you be jealous if your friend was so famous and gets all the attention while people just ignore you beacause you are too mediocre in real life most people will be understand the phychology here and don't be stupid
They thought he had cheated to get his name in there, and Gryffindors do not lie or cheat.
Nope Ford and George were trying to cheat and everyone supported them
Did they? As I recall it, many of them were at first also against Harry in the Goblet of Fire... Harry, to participate... and according to Ron, "everyone told about it behind (his) back"
1. What if the prophecy about Harry had never been made?
2. Why did so many people think that Harry and Dumbledore were lying about Voldemort being back?
3. What if Peter never betrayed the Potters?
4. What if Dumbledore had been the secret keeper for The Potters?
1 everyone has a Prophecy
2 . they did want to believe Voldemort was back they were scared
3. Voldemort would have never killed the potters and probably would have killed wormtail for not telling him
4. Voldemort would have never killed the potters and harry would have lived his parents
Thanks Hermione they didn't want to believe mold e mort was back because they where afraid of him
with 4 then he would go after the longbottoms
I'm so glad you cleared this. Great going.
Put simply, the rest of the students are jealous, and Ron (who was always pushed to the side at home by his parents because any achivement he did had already been achived by his brothers/he wasn't the girl his mother wanted) is also pushed aside whenever Harry is around because of the fame that Harry has. Harry was refered to as 'The boy who lived' and the 'Choosen One' (during his 6th year at Hogwarts), as well as the saviour of the wizarding world from birth. To add, Harry had been in several situations where he faced Voldemort or some life threatening beast (eg. dementors) and, while Ron has been in life threatening situations himself, it doesn't compare to what Harry has done.
I am surprised none of the students bothered to figure out if a grown up or someone much older could of put his name in the goblet. Instead of logically understanding the basics of how and why one can or can't put their name in, they just get easily angry like a mob. I guess this part of the book was to make the students more focused on the reaction instead of thinking. So much for Ravenclaw (not trying to insult your inteligence). Great job on the vid :)
True, it just showed everyone's true colors.
Igor Kararov That's the only person that looked suspicious
Just like people in real life when someone tweets a different opinion.
I forgot what the reactions are like in the book because it's been so long since I've read it, but in the movie, even Gryffindor was against Harry being chosen as a champion. The major cast in the Gryffindor House was seen revolting against him, basically siding with Ron and completely isolating Harry.
I only have one sentence to say to the students of Hogwarts..
"Judge him if you're all perfect."
Questions
What would happen if Sirius Black
did not go to azkaban?
What would happen if Peter Pettigrew went to azkaban instead of Sirius ?
Thank you
Ash Whitman well if Sirius was still the keeper harry would have to live with his parents and Voldemort would still live but if Peter was the keeper and Sirius caught him and to proof that peter was the traitor they would done legenmentry harry would live with Sirius and Voldemort would have been killed but would had came back alive because harry didn’t live with his aunt for protection (if you read the books you know what I mean). If Dumbledore didn’t let Harry live Sirius, Voldemort would had died in the forest
But I suppose snape liked draco a bit since hes lucious malfoys son , and in snapes hogwarts days , lucious's group was something snape wanted to be apart of
Love love love your channel!
Um unconfirmed but Ron never believed that harry put his name in the fire he was just jealous hermione said that Ron just didn't like being second best to harry again but that he decided to hide it by showing it as dislike that harry put his name in the cup
Calum Gallagher it's because he's a moRon that's it.
Proud Hufflepuff here XD
i am not offended, better, i understand you, all of you....
I always thought the same, gryffindor good, slytherin bad, ravenclaw smart/nerds and hufflepuff the rest
But after a few years i saw the movies again, and started to watch potter video's on YT. a few moments later i was on pottermore, and got sorted into Hufflepuff. I did my research, and now? I love my house ;-)
i will just say two things: Be proud of your house, and do your research before judging the house of someone else
I’ll never understand why harry didn’t scream bloody murder about not putting his name in the cup. If that was me, I’d be shouting to the mountain tops how I didn’t do it.
Amazing vid Harry Potter Folklore
I love your videos so much and really appreciate the hard work you put in but it would really make me like your chanle even more if your vids were a bit longer, thx
I haven't started the video but I think it's just because they assumed he was just trying to get more attention.
Jeremy Wilson that's exactly what I said and I haven't watched the video
hi harry potter folklore i love waching your content
Great vid
thank you for explaining this!!! I remember being soooo confused
This question daunted me every time I watched the movie. Thanks a lot for making this video
Well snape didnt really like draco but since he made the unbrakeable vow , he didnt really have a choice , he had to stick up for draco
ImShane No.1 what are you talking about?
Thomas Raines , some one in the comments said why did snape like draco since he was a bully , but I was just saying like snape didnt like draco
ImShane No.1 but why were you talking about the unbreakable vow? Snape didn't make it until the half blood prince
Ye ino but still hahaha
He was on good terms with the malfoys. When he attended Hogwarts, Lucius and him ran in the same social circles, which included other future Death Eaters. They were friends. Obviously he would look out a little bit after his son Draco when he is at Hogwarts.
Finally my question has been answered. Thnx!
Love the video btw
I think the psychology is understated her, but mostly accurate. I wish you'd focused on Ron and Hermione's reactions more (Ron's was of anger and Hermione's was of fear.) I also don't think Ron truly believed Harry put his name in the Goblet. Ron spent his whole life being the little brother. Then at school, he's Harry's side kick. I think the frustration of not being able to get out of the shadows of others is what got to him most and not his belief that Harry could hoodwink the Goblet. Especially when his own brothers, who are older and more talented than Harry, couldn't do it.
Love you thank you keep it up please
If anything they should have been impressed that Harry was chosen as a champion. With Dumbledore and the other judges preventing anyone under age from entering, everyone should have been impressed that Harry was able to either outsmart or magically overcome the protections in place to keep someone like him from entering.
If a 4th year can outsmart Dumbledore and the other judges, it shouldn't matter that they cheated to enter the tournament...they deserve some respect.
Why did they believe it at all though? Especially Ron? Yes Harry was famous and yes he'd been involved in some dangerous things, but most of them had seen him around the castle or heard about him and they would know that he wasn't exactly the next Merlin. So why would they believe that he could have or would have entered his name in the tournament?
Even if they believed that he wanted to enter...like Fred and George...why would they believe that he was powerful or clever enough to pull it off? I could see Hermione maybe being able to come up with a plan, but not Harry.
Ron turned on him immediately which is completley ridiculous. If anyone close to Harry was going to accuse him of entering it would have been Hermione who thought he was reckless.
The school shouldn't have turned on him. They either should have supported him for the sheer brashness of breaking the rules and getting his name selected despite obstacles meant to keep him from being chosen, or they should have believed him when he said that he didn't enter and the entire school should have been searching for the person that did "hoodwink" the goblet of fire.
My prediction: Many people knew underage wizards weren't allowed to put their name in the goblet and were upset about that. Also the professors knew how special Harry was and didn't want him to die.
Zanybandz yet dumbledore was calmed in the books while in the movie he was angry.
Anyone else notice at the end of the book of the goblet of fire the students got the horseless carriages harry Potter did not see the Threstials
Because to see a thestral you need to of seen death and accepted it. At the end of GoF Harrry saw Cedric die but hadn't accepted it yet
That makes sense
But he also witnessed his mother's death aswell, did he not accept that either?
King Kiwi He was only 1 years old. He couldn’t possibly comprehend what just happened.
Hi I love your videos and Harry Potter 😁😁
Great job with the choice of this subject
It was not the only time of course that he was under scrutiny by his fellow students. In Chamber of Secrets, horrified by Harry's ability to speak to snakes, many students speculate that Harry was a descendant of Salazar Slytherin. Only on that occasion, Ron was on Harry's side, especially when it became clear to him and Hermione that Harry wasn't aware that he was speaking a different language
HARREH, DID YA PUT YA NAME IN THA GOBLET OF FIYAH!!
- Dumbledore asked calmly
People view Hufflepuff as the worst house, but we just don't brag.
I think they wouldn't have hated him so much if he hadn't claimed innocence, I think if he had publicly accepted the tri wizard competition and stuff I think a lot more of the school would have stood behind him, it's also possible that would have spared him from the fight with ron
I love his intro
“Why are you being so tough on that Harry kid? It’s just a contest“
-“ dude , I have the early signs of PTSD every time summer ends now because every year some psycho $h!£ Goes down That is inexplicably linked to that boy, and every year it gets worse… Like “oh a giant snake was Paralyzing everyone… can’t get worse And then you come back and there are flying depression ghost around the school inextricably linked to you guessed it! him… i’m fairly Certain someone’s going to be straight up murdered this year.... so yeah I’m a little on edge around him....(pulls flask from school robes downs Fire whiskey)”
You deserve Oscar award!! For your incredibly excellent effort and knowledge of your video! Hope you consider doing this part of your future career.
Another excellent video! Another 10 points for your house...
Your my fav youtuber 👍
Also cedric told everyone to stop hating on harry
Where can you find the opening Dumbldore quote, the same version as at the start of the video?
Love this
It actually hurt my heart with this. Harry didn't want to be apart of it but he was. No one would let him explain anything! That's what makes me irritated. Ron in this movie is the full reason why I wanted to punch him in the face. You actually think your own best friend wanted this?! Sure he maybe the boy who lived but he probably wanted to be the boy who wants a break! Slytherins were nowhere near helpful..,wait they never were. To me , the only true friend that Harry had and then tragically lost was Cedric.
I'm pretty sure Ronald Weasley didn't really think that Harry Potter put his name in the Goblet of Fire. I feel that Hermione Granger explained Ron's reactions quite well. That he was jealous, and that he had been shunted to one side.
You should make a video on the peveral family , if u haven't already
Their reactions should be taken as not canon. Ron's reaction too. Ron was clearly jealous of Harry. Ron felt that he should have been the one to put his name in the cup.
The movie made it look like the Gryffindors turned against Harry as well.
I love your content! But I love HP more... Anyway ❤️❤️❤️
See even Neville supported harry
pleaaze do What if harry killed Bellatrix in the order of phonenix?
I totally agree I'm fellow slytherian and If I were in the goblet fire and would have Harry's back the entire time you can put money on that for sure i feel slytherians should have been helpful and nicer to Harry
Poor Harry tho people think he loves his fame and glory but all he wants to do is eat all that candy he bought with his parents money in first year
HARRY DID YA PUT YA NEM IN DA GOBLET OF FIYAAHAHAHAH
Bc they where jealous and insecure. True friends would not turn their back on him.
Wizard could have done a finger print test
ummm, i thought it was revealed that someone else put Harry's name in the Goblet without his knowledge.
I've got a video idea for a what if video but it'd be really, really, really hard if not impossible but what if Voldemort was put in Gryffindore
what if Sirius was found innocent and raised harry potter, and how powerful would harry be while raised and taught by Sirius Black
Good explanation. I recently saw this great film and I was wondering how and why did the motionless, seemingly mannequin style bodies of the 4 Champion's loved ones find themselves at the bottom of Black Lake? When they came to the surface, they came to life. How is this?
'' DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?! '' he said calmly.
Thought for a video how do you become a professor in order to teach at one of the wizarding schools
I have a question after rereading Chamber of Secrets.
What *exactly* what Lucious' intentions in giving the diary to Ginny?
I've read different responses and would love to hear a knowledgeable response.
Thanks!
Because as we saw the horcrux could seemingly drain the life out of someone eventually giving Voldemort a proper body for his soul to inhabit. As for why Ginny it's probably because he already had a dislike for the Weaslys and she was just there at the time for him to give it to her.
He choose Ginny because she was a pure-blood. I'm sure of that and have read that elsewhere.
Your response is interesting, because many people I've read say that Lucius *did not know* the diary was a Horcrux. Apparently, some were saying that only Voldemort knew about his Horcrux's.
I would really love if someone who knows the answer could chime in here!
REDRAGON12345
Dumbledore gives his guess to that topic.
*Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Chapter 23*
[Professor Dumbledore:] (Not important stuff before that) *"Of course, Lucius did not know what the diary really was. I understand that Voldemort had told him the diary would cause the Chamber of Secrets to reopen, because it was cleverly enchanted."* Had Lucius known he held a portion of his master's soul in his hands he would undoubtedly have treated it with more reverence - but instead he went ahead and carried out the old plan for his own ends: by planting the diary upon Arthur Weasley's daughter, he hoped to discredit Arthur, have me thrown out of Hogwarts and get rid of a highly incriminating object in one stroke.
*Chamber of Secrets - Chapter 18*
‘A clever plan,’ said Dumbledore in a level voice, still staring Mr Malfoy straight in the eye. ‘Because if Harry here -’ Mr Malfoy shot Harry a swift, sharp look, ‘and his friend Ron hadn't discovered this book, why, - Ginny Weasley might have taken all the blame. No one would ever have been able to prove she hadn't acted of her own free will …’
Mr Malfoy said nothing. His face was suddenly mask-like.
‘And imagine,’ Dumbledore went on, ‘what might have happened then … The Weasleys are one of our most prominent pure-blood families. *Imagine the effect on Arthur Weasley and his Muggle Protection Act, if his own daughter was discovered attacking and killing Muggle-borns.* Very fortunate the diary was discovered, and Riddle's memories wiped from it. Who knows what the consequences might have been otherwise …’
Lucius intended to use the opening of the Chamber of Secrets by Ginny to discredit her father, Arthur Weasley, and Dumbledore.
Excellent! This is exactly what I wanted.
And it's basically what I had thought. It seems that some people think Lucius was somehow trying to reincarnate Voldemort, but that was not his primary or even secondary goal with the Diary.
Huh interesting. Been a while since I've read the books, didn't know that was mentioned beyond chamber of secrets.
Even his housemates were not supportive of him until he won the first competition.
He's not even "7" yet!
I honestly think people hate on Ron too much for what he did. Sure, he was definitely a jerk but Ron’s biggest insecurity was having to live up to his family and even friends. Bill was Head Boy, Charlie was Quidditch Captain, Percy was Head Boy and Prefect, Fred and George played Quidditch and were incredibly popular, Harry is the most famous person in the wizarding world and Hermiome is the top witch of her year and Ron is just this average student. Let’s not forget Ron was poor as well and Harry got this fortune from his parents so imagine having a chance to compete in a tournament for eternal glory and 1000 galleons. It kind of makes sense for Ron to do that given his insecurties.
Question: Have you done a video on Neville's life story? If not, WHY NOT?!
