It’s possible Dumbledore didn’t believe Harry or couldn’t take the risk in regards to the parchment’s authenticity. He would be directly responsible for whatever consequences befall Harry in that scenario anyway since he was the sole caster of the age limiter charm. So the de facto answer has to be the one that gives Harry the best chance at surviving. Maybe Dumbledore had second guessed the charm he produced. I could tell, after seeing the series through and rewatching (knowing the ending), that the one who was most upset that Harry's name was in the goblet was actually Snape. I bet he could tell something was going on, with the presence of 2 death eaters in the castle. He knew of one for sure but I'm sure that he perhaps sensed another was possibly around in the transformed form of "professor moody" aka barty crouch jr
Carlos I think that’s false yes Petunia’s life would’ve been different but she would have been a muggle born witch so she’d still have ties to the muggle world she still could have fallen in love with Vernon and had a child with him Wizards and Witches can fall in love with muggles McGonagall is a great example of this
The tasks I would choose are ones that those watching could actually watch and not sit in stands for an hour watching a lake or looking at the outer walls of a hedge maze and wondered what is going on.
@@bobbarrel7271 yes it was on the pitch but they still couldn't see into the maze or everyone would've known Krum had used an unforgivable curse. They may have been able to see one maybe two rows into the maze on their side but that would be it. The stands are just too short to see into the maze. Remember the hedge walls were about 20 feet tall. The stands would have to be 60 + feet tall to see even half the way down the walls. Take a pice of cardboard and stand it up. Then get only a few inches away and slowly rise straight up, not leaning towards it, and stop when you can see the floor, table top, or whatever the cardboard is on and measure how high you had to move up to see the bottom of the maze. Best to use 10 inch or 20 inch tall cardboard. With 10 inch you will have to double the end measurement as the wall would only be half of what it should be. 1 inch equals 1 foot if the cardboard in 20 inches. So 10 inch cardboard is half the hight it should be so 1 inch equals 2 feet in a 10 inch wall. The only way to see everything that is happening in the maze is to be directly over it. So no, no one with the exception of Moody could see what was going on in the maze.

Moody- sees Draco bullying Harry. Moody- Time to do ring around rose around the tree and put him in someone's pants. My favorite karma scene from that movie.
Task #1- locked in separate timed escape rooms with various creatures and traps. Solve puzzles, use quick thinking, strength and genius to battle creatures and avoid traps. Find your scroll which is hidden in the room and escape in time. Having the scroll when you escape is not required but recommended. Task #2- an obstacle course through the dark forest with bogats portraying your worse fears and dark forest creatures throughout the course. Depending on your place in the first task you will be released one by one and need to make it to the end. The scroll you obtained in task #1 shows directions that will lead you through the specific route you alone will have to take. If you couldn’t get your scroll in the 1st task you will have to find your way on your own with only a few hints trough out the route. This task is strictly a survival test. Final task #3- a battle royale in a giant arena with mini versions of different land masses (forest, ocean, desert, mountain) and weapons pre-selected by the judges. Again, depending on your place in the 2nd task you will be given first choice of weapon and which landmass you want to be on. wands will also be allowed alongside weapon of choice. Use everything you’ve learned and experienced to take out(not kill) the other champions.
Hey. Im not a Potterhead. I just like everything Harry potter based and want to learn everything and own everything. And I've only seen each movie 6 times. Edit spellcheck
I wish Rowling expended upon the Tri Wizarding tournaments. I wish Mahonotokoro Uwagado and ilvermorny had had one too. I’d also be interested to see uwagado students with their wandless magic also dueling wand wielding wizards as well
The books are alot to read, I think audible is best. I at first just watched the movie, then I audible all the books. I'm glad I did this because the movies left alot out and I would have been pissed off. One day when they reboot the series it be best to have the movies 4 to 5 hours long to do justice to the books. The films were misleading at times. There were so many characters missed out of the film. Which made the film seem abit odd in places.
I read the book years later after watching the movie. I gotta say. The book became my favorite of all 7 and I got really upset when I realized how much they have left out from the movies. Its not the TWT itself but the quiddich world cup also. The fourth book wss crowded with amazing things
I would choose: 1: A large game of chess (as seen in the philosophers stone bk&movie) against an intelligent fiend. 2: Fight a basilisk in a forest fire at midnight. 3: A pyramid the size of a stronghold with scattered traps, skeletons with muggle flint-locks, and at the roof would be a clock of disasters that constantly changes time and land around the pyramid.
I've always wondered if the Yule Ball was a way for the organisers of the Triwazard tournament to vet the champions "People they will sorely miss" for use in the Second Task. What better way to assess the four champions than in a social setting. At the Yule Ball (both book and movie versions), Harry and Ron stuck together after getting ditched by their bored dates, Hermione and Cho were clearly romantically involved with their partners Krum and Cedric, and though we don't know much about Fleur's experience at the ball, maybe she talked a lot about her little sister?
I really like this video. It shows how the movies and the books are different. Those kind of video's make me appreciatie the movies as well as the books. Would you do one book-movie video's for the other onces too?
an interesting aspect is that Hagrid himself thought he would never have seen a triwizard tournament in his lifetime I would like a book about this speculated previous tournament
2:27 "Although, how such an object can make such a decision from a mere piece of parchment with a name remains quite questionable." The Goblet of Fire uses psychometry for the purpose of selecting strong champions. This keeps the competition fair and weeds out confident yet unskilled students from entering an already highly dangerous tournament. The Goblet is described as an exceptionally powerful magical artifact. We know of another exceptionally powerful magical artifact that uses legilimency to gain knowledge of a person to make decisions: The Sorting Hat. Though, unlike the Sorting Hat, I believe the Goblet was granted only semi-sentience due to its narrow purpose. I came to this conclusion because the Goblet could not be "confused" by a simple confundus charm or other methods cast by a student. Barty Crouch Jr. was able to do it with great difficulty and he was already a powerful wizard. The confundus charm and similar spells affect people, animals, and objects with a degree of sentience. You cannot confuse something which has no thoughts.
I love your videos!!!...so informative, I can really tell you do your research...plus your accent is pretty sexy 😏 Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work
For those who have not read the books, consider the audio books. They're nothing short of magical. :) Jim Dale does the narration and absolutely nails it.
Not quite, it's never directly mentioned in detail, but Percy Weasley had a pen friend from Brazil who went to a school there (Ron mentions in the goblet of fire book) and Harry sees a group of foreign witches reading the 'Salem Witches Institute' magazine which hints at there being American magic users, and they must've gone to school somewhere, just Ilvermorny and the detail around it wasn't invented until years afterwards.
I always wondered how large the student body was at hogwarts since they have never stated how big it was The closest that we know of was that in the final quidditch game in Prisoner of Azkaban, it says that there are 200 Slytherins in the stands (plus the 7 players) but they've also mentioned that Slytherin is the smallest of the four houses So how many students go to Hogwarts every year?
dragonweyr44 Math really wasn’t her strong point it seems. Harry’s year only 32 students in it, and if we assume each year has the same it would only be 224. But yet in the books all the students didn’t know each other super well. Harry’s year must’ve had few students by far.
I think there was a lack of students in Harry’s year, and a couple on either side that had less students because of the first Wizarding war where potential parents were killed.
I think JK Rowling once said Hogwarts has 1000 students, but that doesn't make a lot of sense. I also think it's been stated that each dorm has 5 students in it, and if there's one male and one female dorm per house and per year, that makes 40 students per year with a total size of 280 students. That number seems reasonable but probably fluctuates because they probably don't control how many wizards are born each year in a given region. On a differnet note, does anyone else wonder what the Hogwarts graduation ceremony is like?
@@Ctrees904 I think you're confusing dorm rooms to dormitories. Each dorm room had 5 in it but who knows how big the male and female dormitories are Also to correct my earlier statement, Slytherin had 200 banners on display at the final quidditch match not just 200 students but they were still the smallest of the four houses
I’m much more of a book person when it comes to HP, but I really enjoyed hearing the way you explained the tournament for film watchers. I don’t look down on people who prefer the films but I do think some of the intricate twists and turns in the books get left out quite a bit in the films and so videos like this are a really good idea. I’ve subscribed to see what your other vids are like😊
I think Harry and Ron would say that the second task was trying to find a date for the Yule Ball. And that, to them, may have been the most challenging.😉😆
Absolutely love all of your videos. However, you could kick up the volume a little bit. I'm on my phone, full volume, and the video is still quiet. Keep up the good content bud!
In the second task, grindelows indeed trapped fleur but she was awarded 23 or 25 points because she used a perfect charm or spell underwater. It was just that she failed to retrive her sister.
one question that i has always stuck with me is. Since the name on the paper was written by the students, wouldn’t the teachers check and see if it was harry’s handwriting?
I dont get why harry tried to save 2 people. It's not like they were going to kill ron or fleur's sister, because they didn't sign up for the tournament, so they shouldn't be bait to get killed, otherwise that wouldve been so sickening and F'd up. So harry saving 2 people was just stupid showing he didnt understand the competition or thought Dumbledore would allow people to die? Like in the 3rd challenge in the movie, they made it look like fleur died, but she was fine after. Idk why he got extra points... plus victor was bewitched, Voldemort wormtail and barty couch jr were involved and killed cedric shouldnt the tournament have been considered tampered with and considefed not fair? Plus Barty basically cheated for harry in every single challenge. Harry basically stole the tournament and prize money almost as bad as biden stole the election and destroyed democracy.
Fleur earned 25 points in the 2nd task for good use of a bubble head charm. She said "I deserved zero." She got 25. Also Ron states she put the fire out quite easily.
Someone who didn't read the books doesn't even know what is a blast-ended scrout.... Sorry but if you haven't read the SOURCE MATERIAL you're not a potterhead. realpotterhead.
if only they could put an enchantment to the goblet or sumthn so that it would know if the person on the paper was of age then it wouldve been more perfect meaning harry wouldnt compete and cedric not dying. sorry im still salty about cedric's death like he's such a powerful and amazing hufflepuff and hogwarts student:((((
It's in Snape's memory that Harry collects while Snape was dying. Dumbledore always suspected that Voldemort unintentionally formed a horcrux when he tried to kill Harry, but he didn't know how many other horcruxes there could be until he talked to Slughorn.
I love how, even it's an event with 3 schools, the head Master of ONE school (Dumbledore) can just give points to his champion if he freaking wants too.
Dumbledore is the head of the Wizard's version of the UN and sits on the British Supreme court. Oh and he's the most powerful wizard alive hardly just a headmaster.
Just a question. As 3rd years went allowed to go to the yule ball, if the goblet of fire happened in Harry's 3rd year of Hogwarts, would he go to the ball
ya i doubt it would sap them of there magic if that was possible im pretty sure voldemort would have done it im just assumeing its the same thing as a unbreakable vow

Viktor: Blinded the dragon
Harry: Used his broom
Cedric: Dog

3. A big mine made by goblins in which the champions have to face different creatures, goblins and traps while trying to find the deepest part of the cave where the troffee lays, which they have to bring back to the surface personally.
Your idea for the third task sounds amazing!
One question though: Where would the champions get the magical beast for the second task?
@@elephant35e research which one they will find suitable...and i think HAGRID or any other CMC teachers cud bring them....hmm if my opponents havent seen death andi have then i am sure to bring thestrals
Who noticed in the thumbnail Harry’s parchment was shaped like Australia
Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!
Yer a wizzard mate.
Goblet Of Fire is my favorite book in the series . I love seeing the other wizarding schools .
Mutant X Order of the Phoenix >>>>>>>>>>
But the movie lacked in content
I could tell, after seeing the series through and rewatching (knowing the ending), that the one who was most upset that Harry's name was in the goblet was actually Snape. I bet he could tell something was going on, with the presence of 2 death eaters in the castle. He knew of one for sure but I'm sure that he perhaps sensed another was possibly around in the transformed form of "professor moody" aka barty crouch jr
Could you do a video about, “What if both Lily and Petunia were wizards.”
I agree
@@ddtalksingh4118 nuuuu.....can you imagine!? dudley could be a wizard!...the horror...
@Carlos you look like a fanatic, and yes i read all the books, i think you´re overreacting, it´s just a joke ,calm down.
Carlos I think that’s false yes Petunia’s life would’ve been different but she would have been a muggle born witch so she’d still have ties to the muggle world she still could have fallen in love with Vernon and had a child with him Wizards and Witches can fall in love with muggles McGonagall is a great example of this
If Lilly and Petunia were Wizards, they would have been named Larry and Patrick.
The tasks I would choose are ones that those watching could actually watch and not sit in stands for an hour watching a lake or looking at the outer walls of a hedge maze and wondered what is going on.
I think in the boooks the maze was on the Quidditch pitch and the audience could actually see.

Why didn’t he just do that, he learned about it already. I mean it’s easy enough 🙈
Lol I get mad at people in my class who ever likes Harry Potter
Friend 1. “I watched all the movie I just forgot.”
Friend 2. “I saw the first movie so now I will read the second book cause I think it’s the same.”
Are we just not going to talk about how flure(?) was only able to finish the first task.
She could've finish the third task if she was not attacked by Krum who was under the control of Barty Jr. let's NOT forget :)
She also almost died in the third task. Thankfully, Harry saved her just in time.
What if there was tournament
And there was a champion in the third year! could they still go to the yule ball ?
Before the tournament was canceled it I believe it was open to any year. So back then, yeah. It does seem unfair, Rowling should have wrote it as every 4 years
To Harry Potter fans who don’t like to read books I would really recommend the audio books on audible read by Steven Fry. They are unbelievably good.
Fax.. it’s not the same if u just watch the movies
Moody- sees Draco bullying Harry.
Moody- Time to do ring around rose around the tree and put him in someone's pants.
My favorite karma scene from that movie.
I thought younger students could dance WITH older students at the Yule Ball
Family Lapraik they can cause Ginny Weasley went to the ball with Neville Longbottom
I know! Seeing the other students face their dragons would’ve been super cool to see! I really wanted to see what the other dragons looked like.
Your numbers were correct!

Talking about the begin Harry Potter should had 4 moives for 1 year
I read the book years later after watching the movie. I gotta say. The book became my favorite of all 7 and I got really upset when I realized how much they have left out from the movies. Its not the TWT itself but the quiddich world cup also. The fourth book wss crowded with amazing things
Binge watching your videos. Loooove your accent.
Krum should have gotten second place in the second task smh that transfiguration was dope
What if Dumbledore never hired Mad Eye to teach that year?
Cedric would be alive
But then again the storyline would have been broken
Then Crouch Jr. just would have impersonated who ever was hired.
@Michael Cosentino Point.
Then the book would have been called Harry Potter and the bloody boring school year.
I would choose:
1: A large game of chess (as seen in the philosophers stone bk&movie) against an intelligent fiend.
2: Fight a basilisk in a forest fire at midnight.
3: A pyramid the size of a stronghold with scattered traps, skeletons with muggle flint-locks, and at the roof would be a clock of disasters that constantly changes time and land around the pyramid.
What if someone sees the eyes that person would die I think that's dangerous
Ginny was a 3rd year at the time of the Tornament and she was dancing with Neville
If the Goblet chooses the three people, I would assume it was similar magic as the Sorting hat
it definitely means they can't be "Potterheads" lol. they can be fans of the movies though.
I want to scream everytime I watch GOF since it was my favorite book but the movie left out so much.....
My favorite task was the lake just wish there was more scenes with the merpeople 🧜🏻♀️🧜🏻♂️.
Harry Potter Folklore: Thanks for returning to my channel Me: I never left it.
an interesting aspect is that Hagrid himself thought he would never have seen a triwizard tournament in his lifetime I would like a book about this speculated previous tournament
Imagine being that 1 person who disliked
2:20
Let me put it to you this way, Harry Potter Folklore, do you think Krum was selected randomly?
I loved the book 😊 read it first time when I was 13 years old ❤
Yeah my favourite book 👌🏼
Harry should've used used acio as soon he caught eye of the egg before walking out there blind to where the dragon is.
2:27 "Although, how such an object can make such a decision from a mere piece of parchment with a name remains quite questionable."
The Goblet of Fire uses psychometry for the purpose of selecting strong champions.
Hermione also had the idea of Harry using his wand.
10:39 She did receive points, she thought she shouldn't and was upset that she was given points.
I love your videos!!!...so informative, I can really tell you do your research...plus your accent is pretty sexy 😏
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work
For those who have not read the books, consider the audio books. They're nothing short of magical. :)
Jim Dale does the narration and absolutely nails it.
Filch dancing with Mrs. Norris is my favorite part of the movie... even though it’s not in the book (or maybe it was it’s been a while)
So the America wizards never got the chance to participate?
neither did any other school in existence, Canada not the middle east have wizarding schools
No. It's a European Championship. Anyway, they weren't real until a few years ago
RDKRL well when the cup was created America never existed
Your awesome videos make me want to read the books again.
I always wondered how large the student body was at hogwarts since they have never stated how big it was
The closest that we know of was that in the final quidditch game in Prisoner of Azkaban, it says that there are 200 Slytherins in the stands (plus the 7 players) but they've also mentioned that Slytherin is the smallest of the four houses
So how many students go to Hogwarts every year?
dragonweyr44 Math really wasn’t her strong point it seems. Harry’s year only
32 students in it, and if we assume each year has the same it would only be 224. But yet in the books all the students didn’t know each other super well. Harry’s year must’ve had few students by far.
I think there was a lack of students in Harry’s year, and a couple on either side that had less students because of the first Wizarding war where potential parents were killed.
Harry's year had 40 students. Hogwarts normally has around 35 students per house per year but after the war there was a population decrease
Each dorm room had 5 in it but who knows how big the male and female dormitories are
Also to correct my earlier statement, Slytherin had 200 banners on display at the final quidditch match not just 200 students but they were still the smallest of the four houses
id have something to do with the room of requirement
I’m much more of a book person when it comes to HP, but I really enjoyed hearing the way you explained the tournament for film watchers. I don’t look down on people who prefer the films but I do think some of the intricate twists and turns in the books get left out quite a bit in the films and so videos like this are a really good idea. I’ve subscribed to see what your other vids are like😊
I’m reading the books and I wish they included everything in the books 😕
I think Harry and Ron would say that the second task was trying to find a date for the Yule Ball. And that, to them, may have been the most challenging.😉😆
Can you do that who invited the try wizards 🧙♂️tornumint
What if the Triwizard Tournament involves all the wizarding worlds?
But the name would have to change it to the Omniwizard cup
Absolutely love all of your videos. However, you could kick up the volume a little bit. I'm on my phone, full volume, and the video is still quiet. Keep up the good content bud!
You ruin your own experiences by having expectations. That goes for everything in life.
Out of all things in the world falsifiable, handwriting is the easiest to do.
The Triwizard Tournament
The Tri Nations Of Hogwarts
wow I'm early :D hope the video is awesome!
Of course, it’s Harry Potter Folklore
Third-year students can go to the Yule Ball of invited by an upper classsmen
Thank you Dean for another great video.
I wanna who you think would have won the tournament had Voldemort and Harry not been involved. I said Cedric because of his showings in the tournement
I would choose to Escape a Exact Azkaban Replic with bogarts (ik its dum)

Wow! Thanks for the video!
if only they could put an enchantment to the goblet or sumthn so that it would know if the person on the paper was of age then it wouldve been more perfect meaning harry wouldnt compete and cedric not dying. sorry im still salty about cedric's death like he's such a powerful and amazing hufflepuff and hogwarts student:((((
Wow I am early
Make a video about the life. of Stan shunkpike
Can you make one explaining when did dumbledore find out that Voldemort was immortal, I’ve been trying to figure that one out for the longest.
Search up the question online. It answers it. I'm not gonna type it out because its long.
Dolly: “I think the TriWizard Tournament should be renamed the TriWizard Torturement given it has a 625 Year Torturous reputation ha ha ha ha ha ha.”
The other Tri-Wizard contestants were overlooked because the movie was called "HARRY POTTER and The Goblet Of Fire"! Enough said!
Am I the only one who appreciates the use of "Institute" "Academy" and "School" in the school's names?
