Adam is a very good singer and doesn't need to be compared to anyone. His style is unique and stands on its own merit. Those singers you mentioned have a very different style and I actually prefer them over Lambert because I like R&B, but Adam is a true talent and not to be compared at least to that genre of singers.

The performance wasn't a contest to see who sang the better version..Adam is trying to win AI, and you can't say the arrangements weren't done well. So it is a bit unfair for us (I tend to do this too :)) to be comparing these contestants' versions to the original versions. Adam is a great singer and performer.
I saw Smokey Robinson many years ago in San Carlos at the Circle Star Theater - I actually feel asleep - his performance had no life to it and his voice wasn't strong- just humdrum.

This song was the start of my Adam obsession. He was so exciting on Idol. From week to week you never knew what he would do or how he would look. He's ruined Idol for me because I know there will never be another like him. So I no longer have a desire to watch Idol.
