  • Released by Pathescope as a 2 reel film, August of 1950, this has been one of those sound films that has proven hard to find in the 9.5mm format, Call Her Sausage 1933 - The Taxi Boys' released by Hal Roach with Ben Blue and Billy Gilbert.
    Ben proves to be the undoing when Billy opens a new deli. There are 10 film in the Taxi Boys series released over a 12 month period through MGM, this was the eighth film in the series.

    So great! No comedians today could come close. No filthy language or sexual innuendo. Even little children could watch and enjoy this!

      I guess because they were short lived I always though that the Taxi Boys have been over looked, but your right good clean honest fun!

    Ben Blue is rather irritating here and almost like a third rate Stan Laurel.

      I am not sure where Hal Roach was going with the Taxi boys series, of the 10 shorts that were made this one never seems to get off the ground, you cant help but think there was an attempt to mirror the Laurel and Hardy success as I guess that was the standard of the day, but Ben and Billy dont get even close
