worst part for me was looking up a guide and following every step word for word to get the "good" blood and wine ending, only to get the worst ending... because I didnt read every single journal entry during some random quest that finished 4 hours before the ending. Only thing in Witcher 3 that straight up made me rage quit... it took half a year before I came back to get the good ending. Looked up five more guides after, and NONE of them mentioned reading every single journal entry. I only found out how to do it because of reddit
The Hornwall horn can be found in the Abandoned Village on Undvik, it makes fighting sirens easier by shooting all of them out of the sky in a radius around you so you don't have to use the goddamn crossbow
That's why hiding them on the map is the first thing I do. I know where a lot of them are by heart now, but it's so much fun just stumbling upon it with no map marker
Yes, more Zanny Witcher 3 content. EDIT: I'm sure he probably already knows this, but the "side quests" aren't really side quests. They're basically main quests about a different story. The side quests will affect your ending, so that's why people want you to do them. I don't want to keep editing my comment, but the alt version of Yrden will knock flying enemies out of the sky. I basically never used the crossbow.
If it helps, throughout Beauclair, when you loot treasures, or just random stuff, you find junk which you would ordinarily sell. You can dismantle them instead to stock base products like green gold, gold nugget, acid extracts, nickel and copper ores. They are how you can make Glowing Dimeritium Ingots and Plates, which otherwise would cost 2000 and 4000 respectively a piece. You could save essentially thousands of Crown even after crafting all 5 Grandmaster armor. But it is a hell of a grind.
The designer who literally did the smuggler caches in Skellige has gone on record saying they are "Terrible." Evidently, they weren't supposed to be question marks. They were supposed to have seagulls circling around them, and it was just a fun thing to find as you went from point A to point B. But then crunch time happened, the seagulls weren't gonna make it, so they last minute pivoted and made them question marks. It didn't actually occur to them that people would do all of them just to clear the question marks, and internally they all agree it was a huge misstep.
@@TheSpongyMallard for super cool end game builds tho you gotta use grand master Witcher gear which is horrible to get. So griffin are our for becoming a wizard, bear for cool sword stuff and one shot potential, and wolf for a balance.
Those two you can't do are underground. Look for tunnels. I can't remember if they're a task or not. The question marks around Skelleger are so painful to do. I did it by swimming in the end after losing my boat so many times to annoying things. I had lots of fab encounters with the Whale that made up for it.
Quick tip for the harpees if you got the Hornwall horn (which if a remember you get from the killing the ice giant and saving a guy quest), if you use it the harpees will fall
For me, the irritating part was not "?" in Skellige themselves, but the fact that doing 5 of them in a row would overburden you, and you won't be able to swim faster anymore. So you will have to return on land, sell or store the items and go back to these locations. Thank the Gods for fast travel on the boat atleast, which allows us to come ashore instantaneously.
Hey zanny, loving the witcher series. unrelated though but if you enjoy rouge likes try risk of rain 2. Sooooo good from the colour and art and especially music and gunplay
Be cool if there was a sea monster to hunt or something. I still remember seeing a whale for the first time when I was doing smugglers cache and it passed in the distance and I felt like I was play subnautica. In witcher lore there are some absolutely terrifying sea monsters to.
I cleared out all the points in the skellige waters over the course of about 4 hours. Trips back to the stash made it longer than i wanted. It was tedious indeed. Theres about 50k crowns out there though, and lots of good upgrade materials that will help with crafting the grandmaster witcher sets in Blood and Wine, so id say its worth it.
Honestly explorations like this may be annoying at times, but its worth it in the end. Because, when you gather items and store them for later, you can store a lot of them to be sold at Blacksmiths or swordsmiths, to gain more coin (Especially in New Game Plus), Incase you want to buy crafting materials you'll need a lot of coin, than to go around gathering materials to craft just one Unique equipment. E.g (Dimeritium plate or Ignot)
I honestly almost quit the game when clearing out the ? in the map in Skellige. I ended up turning the ? icons off in the map screen to preserve my sanity and finish the game + DLCs
I believe one of the devs once said the question marks were originally not supposed to be marked on the map, but rather something you come across while randomly exploring. Would have made the lives of people who try to do EVERYTHING in the game 100x easier.
I started playing the witcher 3 couple day after zanny started playing it, and i finished the game months ago, and zanny is still playing iy 😅 im glad he enjoyed it this much. Its such a good game.
I really wanna watch this but this series made me buy the game and I’m playing it now and don’t know if I wanna be spoiled 😩 but I might cave for Zanny Witcher content
I imagine future Zanny like Captain Hindsight from South Park. Like he exists, he's a person, but he's also just an imaginary concept that lets Zanny slack and in the end, doesn't help much.
@ngepeakfic5716 it's a part of the game, Dante and Vergil aren't iconic just because of the gameplay, but because of their personality and relationship, that's like the people who defend Diablo 4 saying the story doesn't matter
