    500 miles ? That's two days riding . Maybe four at the most . Baffles me why someone would purchase a motorcycle then not ride it. Other than cars are actually coming at you and to the side of you . They get scared . And the road moved below you , lol . Great video as usual Bill ! People should defiantly follow you if they want help with whatever motorcycle your working one . Very good step by step processes on repairs as always !

      I've heard good things about it if you're going with just the slip-on you can get away with not doing the tuning but if you're getting rid of the cat or doing the headers and the cat delete and everything then tuning should be your next step

    Awesome break down, gives me confidence to work on my own bike.
    Just wondering if you know the torque specs for the main 4 bolts, that hold the tank in place.

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  Рік тому

      I don't know the exact torque specs. You could probably look them up on a Google search but it's always a good practice to use some blue loctite and torque them until they're snug they don't have to be super tightened down. Perhaps maybe 15 to 30 ft lb tops I would imagine. 30 might even be too much.

    • @PsyOps404
      @PsyOps404 Рік тому +1

      @@BLRTUNING Thank you BiLL, I torqued them to around 15lbs with loctite. Unfortunately I didn’t get to finish the job as I was losing daylight and it was easier to reassemble the parts I’d taken off than to continue with the job.
      Getting it into a workshop on Wednesday to be flash tuned, they said they would fit the air filter and block off plates for a small charge. Numbers don’t really mean much to be, I just want a bike that’s tuned properly, doesn’t get excessively hot and doesn’t have a choppy throttle. That being said, what kind of numbers can I expect with a full akrapovic system and a K&N after being tuned.
      Sorry to bombard you with these questions but you seem to have a wealth of knowledge on these machines

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  Рік тому +1

      @@PsyOps404 with a ECU flash tune you should expect to see around a 15 to 20 horsepower gain. One of the main things that you can expect is the derestriction. There is a lot of restrictions in these newer bikes. For example the throttle plates not opening all the way up when you're at wide open throttle. That's part of the factory settings. When we do ECU flash tuning we remove those settings. I'm not sure if you are aware but we do offer ECU flash to me through our website. We are also a licensed Dynojet distributor and we offer custom tuning for all Dynojet products. So please feel free to take the time to look at our website.

    If i just need the ECU out do i need to completely disconnect the gas tank or can i just take out the two screws up top, and then prop it up? Thanks for any help!

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  4 місяці тому

      As long as the key is off and you disconnect the battery It doesn't matter how you are able to get it out as long as you can get it out and get it unplugged. Just make sure you have plenty of room to be able to reinstall it when we send it back to you.

    So I have a quick question about removing the tank. Do you drain the tank before hand? If there is fuel in the tank will gas come rushing out when you disconnect the line with the red lock tab? Thank you.

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  Рік тому +2

      Nope you don't have to drain the gas at all. You might get two or three drops of gas and that's about it as you disconnect the quick release clamp.
