  • We show how we clear an area that is overgrown with trees amd saplings, to make it into a beautiful meadow that we can easily mow with scythes.
It's important to note that saplings don't disappear when you clear them with brushcutters. The stumps remain and they will come back with new shoots in even greater numbers. Areas like that are impossible to mow with scythes, so it's important to clear them properly from the start.
In this case, we had the opportunity to give our input from an early stage and be part of the decision making, so that we could then get to work and do it right from the start!
Our favorite tool is the small blade hoe, but we also use axes, a silky zubat handsaw, and a chainsaw. We sharpen the axes and blades with an angle grinder with great care, as we don't want them getting too hot.

What kind of scythe do you use?

It's a hooknosed 75 cm peening blade with my own designed Nordic snath that is just amazing to use. I have filed on every detail during 15 years, now it's for sale in www.slattergubben.se/produkter/kopa-lie/lieblad-orv-knackutrustning
Send us a mail with your order if you want it sent outside Sweden!
