I'll take that into consideration next time!
You have to start with three layers, then slowly take them off until you end up shirtless by the end of your jam

And you need to bounce up and down on the beat on your drum throne.

I agree. Trench had one of my favorites from Josh, The Hype.
We'll definitely look at different albums next time when we revisit him on a budget 👍
And what about the self titled and vessel albums
Josh Read totally not down-grading those albums, but Josh didn’t drum fro self-titled so I can see why.
There is not enough free body, Body paintings or agression in the playing.
Can you do Matt Greiner from August Burns Red I would love how you try to do his setup without busting the bank.

When you listen to drums in music you dont always hear that extra sound in the snare I wonder what thats about
Studio editing. A lot of modern music with drums are not actually recorded with real drums.
EQ and it also gets drowned out by the track
There's also a lot of compression on most tracks that can take a lot of the natural acoustic sound away
@@joshuaschertzer7133 Not necessarily true, at least 95% of rock music is recorded with real drums cause it's shit otherwise. However it's usual to use drum replacement on top or entirely over the drums. When my band records we usually keep it 50/50, a lot of my own tone/tuning combined with a digital sample that registers every hit I do with the exact same dynamics so we get a fuller sound.
As a recording engineer for ages i struggled trying to dampen my snares so they sounded more like the records i was listening to, but that was a huge mistake. There’s a lot more snare ring and reverb than you realise but in the context of the track it gets soaked up.
You guys haven't done a Tre Cool yet. Would love to see a tre cool sounds like

Great video guys! I'd love to see a video on how to Sound Like Gavin Harrison, but without busting the bank. I always admired his tone. I don't know if it comes to head selection, or the way he tunes the drums, or how he mics them, but his kit (especially toms!) sound perfect. You could also do Dave Lombardo.

The only thing is that you've got a good representation of his 2015-17 setup; since Trench came out and the Bandito Tour happened, his setup has gotten bigger, hes now got a gong drum, ballad Snare (I.e. fat snare), and efx splash. Overall good job, but I wished you had done a bit more research into Josh's current gear.

They explicitly said they don't stock SJC
We try to be as accurate as possible with the gear that we stock. Unfortunately SJC isn't one of them but I felt the Trick kit came pretty close!
I like these videos but the drums should match the personality of the drummer too
