I’m 70 & grew up with the lamb mold ;older ones were cast aluminum & much heavier. Mom ordered ours with Bakers coconut premiums. She baked regular white cake in each side. Then they were set upright, iced together, then iced liberally and sprinkled with coconut. We had it every Easter(to honor the lamb of God🤓) your guys will love the tradition. Mom also periodically made butter in that glass churn when granddaddy gifted us a gallon of farm milk which was 1/3 cream on the top. Wonderful memories. Elizabeth
Yes, I’m 56 but can recall being 4 years old and fascinated with the coconut lamb cake every Easter at my Great Aunt’s house…that was an annual tradition and when she passed away, my mother was given the mold as she was the only female in the family; so it’s been some 50+ years that we’ve celebrated every year with a ‘little lamb of God’ cake during Easter. 💝 The butter churn is very special as well… to know that your ancestors’ hands worked so hard at producing their daily needs is very humbling yet awe-inspiring & priceless. TFS, Andrea… phenomenal haul! 😊
My husband grew up with his mom making Easter cake in a bunny mold. In my search to find one to recreate the memory for him, I came across a lamb mold on Facebook marketplace. I messaged the person asking if it was available. They still had it and told me they wanted to give it away to a good home. It’s heavy, cast aluminum. We treasure it.
I have had a strap with sleigh bells since my girls (now in their 30s). We hang it from the door knob, and on Christmas Eve, and sometime during the night, we would hear it rings and know that Santa had visited.
YES an Easter Lamb Mold ... we use to have our Easter baskets Blessed with all the food we would eat on Easter and Most family baskets included a decorate Lamb Cake .... ours were usually made with a Pound Cake Recipe ... so keep in around to use at Easter time too .... your kids will love the lamb cake to eat ... Great Memories ... European Custom ... I'm Czech and Russian ...
Isn’t it sweet that God smiles down and blesses us with little treasures of HIS love with special things like just the perfect color of ribbon , a beautiful free mirror , and special little ornaments and decor ! He is such a personal Father to each of us! 😊
I have my grandchildren's room done in chambray and denim. I use pillow ticking remnants and natural linen for dresser scarves in the room. I also made their curtains out of denim. All my ticking is vintage but you can find it new at Joann's. It all washes and wears very well.
Thank You for sharing the tree in front of the mirror. It does look like there's 2 trees. The instruments would look wonderful in your Christmas tree as ornaments. I love both mirrors especially the one given to you. Thank you for sharing......Blessings!
That's a Nordic lamb cake mold for Easter to represent the Lamb of God. It's beautiful!! I have one and put it out for Easter but I never thought about putting it out for Christmas. It would be beautiful with a ribbon tied around his neck! Merry Christmas!!
Rebecca Robeson from Kinwoven decorated one of her trees last year with musical instruments! It was cool and unique. The ribbon you found is beautiful! The lamb mold is adorable! She would look festive with a bright red ribbon and placed in a basket with greenery! The butter churn is awesome! I almost forgot….great steal on the beveled mirrors! This was a fun video! Thanks for sharing.
Andrea, what about using rub n buff on the musical instruments? Put some old cookie cutters and ornaments in the churn with fairy lights! Some greenery and ribbon tied on top.
Your lamb is definitely a cake mold. I’m in my 60’s now and I remember every year my mom making a lamb cake for our Easter dinner. What a lovely thought using it as Christmas decor.
Lovely finds Andrea, the butter churn is wonderful, put a little fake snow in the bottom and a bottle brush tree, ribbon on top and display in your kitchen or dining room! Happy Thanksgiving!
I too grew up with a lamb cake every eas ter. The mold was passed from my grandma, to my mom and then to me. Look on pinterest & UA-cam. Lots of examples
Try rub n buff for the red on the instruments. The lamb will be great for Easter too! Can you make a vingnette inside the butter churn? Farmer Boy is one of my very favorite Laura Ingalls books!!
The butter churn is my favorite, imagine your grandfathers. It would look great with a string of LED lights inside it sitting on the counter, a little ribbon, a few greens....happy decorating
Just love this video and that you’re only now getting around to thinking about Christmas! It’s so strange to me how everyone on the internet is so excited for Fall and pumpkin and then rush into Christmas before the leaves have even fallen off the trees! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your beautiful family and can’t wait to see your lovely festive home sometime soon!
Oh Honey, I LOVE your sleigh bells, nothing sounds more Christmasy & Delightful...Also, those musical instruments are adorable...Rebecca Robson of Kinwoven Design did her entire Christmas theme last year with musical instruments...Your .75 star was a fab find too, it looks like the stare of Bethlehem...In 2nd grade our class churned butter with our sweet elderly Teacher, Ms. Lowery, all these years later and my classmates and I have never forgotten that charming experience and the taste of our churned butter on a half slice of bread...Let us know how your butter CHURNS out! (pun intended 😘) HAPPY🦃 THANKSGIVING & MERRY🎄CHRISTMAS~🎶📯🎶❤⭐🎶🎷🎶
I love your items and the price you paid. Love finds like that. I HAVE NOT DECORATED FOR CHRISTMAS EITHER WHICH IS REFRESHING TO ME. YOU'RE STILL GIVING IDEAS WITHOUT GOING FULL FLEDGE. SO THANK YOU FOR NOT DECORATING YET. i plan to put fall items away nxt week like monday and then let things breathe before decorating for Christmas, After Thanksgiving!
Great timing. I'm going to a favorite thrift store of mine today because their Christmas decor is all 50% off! I love your ideas with the items you bought, and also thank you for the links to other bloggers. Decorating is challenging for me, but I'm a really good copier, so it's great to see ideas from lots of sources. And you are not behind in decorating, in my opinion. I never start until after Thanksgiving. :)
In Poland we bake lambs like this for Easter. Also our molds differ a little. Opened on bottom and baked upside down to leave a place for rising dough. We bake mainly yeast dough in it. I make eyes with cloves. Kids are always very excited to eat lamb's head 😉
I think its a chocolate mold (I but it would be huge)......they only coated the metal part of mold, then pushed the two pieces together so inside was hollow. I could also see a cake baked and put together too
Yay, a thrift haul!!! You found some amazing items ❤ I am happy you have not decorated for Christmas yet. I know it’s hard being on social media when everyone else is doing it. I just feel like Christmas gets rushed and pushed in our faces in all the stores and it’s refreshing to see someone not fall into that. I can’t wait to see what else you find in your upcoming vids 😊😊😊
That is a lamb. Mold for pound cake. I have a cast iron one from my grandmother. U lay it on it side when baking. And the pound cake will rise into the other side they are beautiful to bake in. If you need more instructions. Google it great. Memory for me I bake in mine every year and keep it out. At Christmas
What great finds!!! The butter churn could totally be Christmasie. Ribbon on top with cookie cutters inside. I think your music tree is a beautiful idea to use with your new items. Thank you for sharing your friends posts too!
Loved the lamb with the greenery Angela and the butter churner is such a wonderful gift to always remember the grandparents. I love that the boys want to experience what it was like, back in the day, to churn your own butter...priceless!
The best haul! How fun! Sleigh bells are one of my fav Cmas/Winter decor items. So many options! Love the mirror idea. Thanks for sharing, Andrea! It'll be fun to see the ways you use these finds. Love Little House! And what a great gift the butter churn is! ❤
Great thrift haul. I want to thank you for always posting honest and simple videos. I get overwhelmed with other videos that show immaculate houses and expensive decor and homes. Your voice is calming and your joy is infectious. As a single mom I really appreciate the beauty of the simple life. You are an inspiration. Have a blessed Holiday season.
I love all of your treasures, especially the sweet instruments! You are not behind! ENJOY the process as you prepare your home for the season. Your videos are beautiful! 💝
P.s. I have that lamb cake mold it was my grandmother's. We make lamb cakes for every Easter. Make a yellow cake frost with vanilla frosting. Put coconut all over it to resemble the fleece. We do raisin eyes and cherry nose and we tie a real ribbon around the neck. Your kids would love it. We lay flat on a cutting board and put Easter grass around it and jelly beans.
You are so blessed to find so many wonderful things and fantastic prices! Love them all. I ordered some sheets! You made them seem like a heavenly nights sleep! Cannot wait to receive them! Happy thanksgiving to you and your family.
When you show the wreath hanging on the bookcase w/ribbon, can you tell me what color the back panel has been painted? Is it green, gray? I love it, I need it for my bookcase!! Love your content so much ❤️
P.S. just thought of this…..baby mandarine oranges 🍊 studded with cloves Would pick up on tones of copper if you use copper in your Christmas kitchen decor
I love all the thrift finds for Christmas you have found. The little lamb is a cake mold/pan. It is so special to me. My grandmother made us a lamb cake each year for our birthday gift. We have many photos of lamb cakes on our birthday. My sister was gifted the mold, but I found one just like it and was thrilled. I have used it for spring decor and never thought of using it at Christmas. Thanks for the wonderful idea, I am going to use your idea this year. Thanks for sharing.
Linen makes me itch. I'm wondering if linen sheets are the same. Thrift stores in my area never have anything good like the UA-camrs find. I wish I could find good stuff like you find.
Hi ! Loved this video ! I also have my grandmothers churn . I display it and often add a touch of seasonal decor . For fall , I put a small pumpkin inside with a few pieces of dried fall stems . At Christmas, I add a couple special ornaments . You will enjoy it , I know . Also , i think the small detail of color on your little musical instruments adds so much interest . It’s eye catching . Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing . 😊
O Andrea what a blessing that butter churner jar your grandma sent you! How sweet of her! And the horns; gotta get me some! Merry Christmas, and happy thanksgiving. Never mind! Lol - I totally get it, life is so busy and going so fast hard to keep track of what’s next! Have a very blessed thanksgiving with your loved ones!
Wow, great finds! My mom, now I have the Lamb cake mold. Ours is cast iron, make a pound cake, white frosting, coconut, jelly beans for the eyes, for Easter, love it! You do an amazing job with the details as well...Can't wait to see your home for Christmas!🌲
Fun finds! Loved them all and could totally see you decorating with each. Love the butter churn and even better it coming from your grandma. After I was married I always shopped my grandmothers house, LOL. She always said you ask for it first it's yours and she referred to it all as junk! I cherish what I was given by her. My cousins do as well. I haven't decorated yet either but have been thinking about it. I love Thanksgiving too much :). Thank you for sharing your fun haul! Happy Thanksgiving!
How wonderful to get a butter churn that belonged to a family member. It's so special, I would make it a part of my every day decor. I love all the great finds you shared. Thanks for sharing 💕
I also have the lamb mold and we fill the back half with pound cake batter. Place the unfilled face half on top and bake. The cake will rise and fill the sweet lamb perfectly. Enjoy!
Love your thrift haul! I really love the lamb mold and can't wait to see where you put it. I also have the butter churn in my kitchen. It belonged to my husband's grandma. I also have read and love all the Little House books. Blessings!
Andrea, the large free mirror is beautiful. What a blessing! The butter churn would be pretty with a ribbon bow and sprigs of berries threaded into it, or placed inside the jar. That’s a precious gift from your grandmother! Thank you for sharing.
I love your peaceful, beautiful, vintage-inspired aesthetic. Great finds and great ideas! Can you tell me where you got the 'greenery' that was in the basket?? It looks so 'real' and 'drapey' and I love it. Thank you!
I’ve made butter before just putting the milk in a quart Mason jar. It’s best if you can use raw milk, if you can find it at your local farmer’s market or a dairy. Love the suggestion about putting a mirror behind the Christmas tree! Gonna try that😊
My large Catholic family has the same antique lamb mold that we have used for generations, for our First Communion Cake. We all decorate it with white coconut, and raisins for the eyes. Sitting on dyed coconut with green food coloring, to look like grass.
Not for butter ,it is to fluff up your flour, breads and bake goods become lighter, when flour sits or packed in bags it compacts so it's heavier.sheshell
Andrea, I found the same bells at a thrift store last year and tied them with some juniper and pine cones with a beautiful velvet ribbon. Hung it on the inside of the front door and what a wonderful Christmasy noise when you open the door.
I like all the stuff you found at the thrift store and that better turn that your grandma sent you churn it should be not turned and cuz my speaker has selective spelling sorry about that I remember my mom used to have one like that but it was just for pretty I don't know if she used to make butter before I just remember helping her make tortillas stuff like that she used to make these little cookies by hand and they were so delicious her sweet tamales and stuff like that for Christmas she used to make a lot of good stuff so I remember those days so thanks for sharing your beautiful stuff with us and have a Happy Thanksgiving and I still haven't started putting up my Christmas yet either I'll probably start after Thanksgiving cuz I make me a bunch of ornaments for my tree and I'm still making some

We had one, too. Just like that. Cake mix is what my mother used, because the amount fit into the mold just right for Easter.

You could turn the butter turner into a snow globe for the holiday season!
Thank You for sharing the tree in front of the mirror. It does look like there's 2 trees. The instruments would look wonderful in your Christmas tree as ornaments. I love both mirrors especially the one given to you. Thank you for sharing......Blessings!

Your butter churn ... I imagined it as a cookie jar filled with oatmeal cookies
What a great tour and such a wonderful place she has.

Your lamb is definitely a cake mold. I’m in my 60’s now and I remember every year my mom making a lamb cake for our Easter dinner. What a lovely thought using it as Christmas decor.

I agree. We Don't Need t rush. My Summer flowers are still in bloom.
You're basket, could be used in the corner of the living room, to put folded fleece throws in, to be used on colder evenings .

Linen makes me itch. I'm wondering if linen sheets are the same.
Thrift stores in my area never have anything good like the UA-camrs find. I wish I could find good stuff like you find.
I love baskets too especially during the holidays. I filled mine with vintage wooden, chippy white porch spools and greenery draping out
Great ideas!! 😀
Yup! Others may have said this already but its a cake mold. My mom used to bake a Lamb cake for Easter! It means so much!
Hi ! Loved this video ! I also have my grandmothers churn . I display it and often add a touch of seasonal decor . For fall , I put a small pumpkin inside with a few pieces of dried fall stems . Thank you so much! 😄
Hey Andrea, question for you! Your pine trim around your kitchen windows… what color stain did you use?
Love your thrift haul! I really love the lamb mold and can't wait to see where you put it. I also have the butter churn in my kitchen. It belonged to my husband's grandma. I also have read and love all the Little House books. Blessings!
Andrea, the large free mirror is beautiful. What a blessing! The butter churn would be pretty with a ribbon bow and sprigs of berries threaded into it, or placed inside the jar. That’s a precious gift from your grandmother! Thank you for sharing.
Love those ideas, thank you!! 😊
Gonna try that😊
I think the lamb could be a chocolate mold for Christmas or Easter. 🌲
Great idea!
My large Catholic family has the same antique lamb mold that we have used for generations, for our First Communion Cake. We all decorate it with white coconut, and raisins for the eyes. Sitting on dyed coconut with green food coloring, to look like grass.
Yes, it’s a cake mold. My mom would make and decorate it every Easter.
Not for butter ,it is to fluff up your flour, breads and bake goods become lighter, when flour sits or packed in bags it compacts so it's heavier.sheshell
Such great finds LOVE the butter churn, and yes put some greens red berries on the sweet gift 🤗💕
Andrea, I found the same bells at a thrift store last year and tied them with some juniper and pine cones with a beautiful velvet ribbon. Hung it on the inside of the front door and what a wonderful Christmasy noise when you open the door.
Aww love that!! Great idea! 😀
That sounds absolutely beautiful! Now I have to do that. 🥰
