I have felt the same way for years !! I was 17 when this album dropped and breaking the habit hit me and stayed with me through all these years! Beautiful piece of art that has stayed with me
Wow this is like a more toned down version of Breaking the Habit. I can definitely tell it took some time to really get to that sound we love from Breaking the Habit. Pretty cool to hear how they experimented with it!
The released version is my favorite song ever, no matter what genre or band, year or era, this one will always be my personal top1, it always helped me when I had bad thoughts. I really want to say thanks to every member of LP, especially Chester and Mike, the band is legendary, their music is immortal and got a great value❤️❤️❤️
This has got to be one of the best instrumental music pieces to be ever produced. Despite not having any kind of vocals you can still perfectly hear the sorrow and melancholy the song carries on. I'm so glad it finally got officially released
It's amazing how you get to realize that the world's best stuff was created by such a professional and world known band. I belong from Pakistan and Linkin Park fan since my childhood. Sometimes it's too hard to believe that Chesterbe is not with us anymore.
This is easily my favorite on the album, and one of my favorite instrumentals of all time. The entire song is just so perfect, the intro, iconic guitar notes, synth background for additional depth, then when the drums, bass and DJ scratches kick in, it’s just a beautiful work of art. I can listen to this for hours
I used to listen to this off UA-cam when I had anxiety ... it'd help calm my mind and help me catch my breath when I had to struggle dealing with abuse as teenager .... linkin park has helped me through some shitty times in my life and and couldn't be more thankful to be who I am today to say that I've gotten as far as I have and continue to do so because of heroes that make such beautiful music like this .... linkin park if you guys somehow read this ...: THANK YOU ... FOR SAVING ME SO MANY TIMES OVER WHEN I THOUGHT NOBODY EVER WOULD ...!!! 🧡❤🖤
listening to these demos it's easy to notice how they were into experiments and the producers polited it to something more commercial and "merchandisable", to fit in the industry
I was playing video games listening to Linkin Park and then this version of the song came on and i loved it. I felt like I was in an alternate reality for a moment as i recognized the notes and melody but had never heard of it like this before
It's crazy to me that people think Breaking the Habit is a metal song. This is like some 90s UK drum n' bass with a heavy dose of glitch. It's like people are listening to The Prodigy but they're hearing Korn.
This is the best LP demo, and one of my personal favorite instrumental tracks. It sounds like an original breaking the habit demo is getting hacked by a decepticon.
I remember randomly stumbling across this years back and enjoying it on the same level as Cure for the Itch. Both INSANE instrumentally driven songs, and both incredibly slept on. I was super happy to see it get an official release on the M20 album, still bump it every day
This one isn't new to me, but I'm just super happy that an official release outside of LP Underground Means it's on streaming services so it's easier to discover and share, shout out to Chris España for uploading it on YT 13 years ago, about 3 or so is when I saw that and first listened to it. It's a gem
After finding this randomly some years ago, it's wonderful to finally see an official release. I might even like this demo better than the actual song because you go in thinking it's one thing, and then suddenly it's not what you think, yet it's amazing all the same.
I’m just WAITING for the Amen Break to come in and Mike Shinoda to yell “JUNGLISTS!!!” I would give everything but my wife and our fur babies to work with Mike Shinoda.
I am so obsessed with this version….its always been a fave song, but add in what sound like a symphony and it feels so deep, and somewhere else
I love these demos releases coz you don't know what to expect. It's like hearing something completely new which actually is
They not new to be honest I've heard most of them probably 13 year's ago but it's great that everyone cab enjoy them now
❤
@mctapoutos is correct, this was on the making of Breaking the Habit DVD from 2004
Yeah... It's new to me! 😮
Fr. This is great for any composer. It's easier to do active listnening. I love it
Breaking the Habit has to be one of the greatest creations of LP
I definitely feel Breaking the Habit is their masterpiece
I have felt the same way for years !!
I was 17 when this album dropped and breaking the habit hit me and stayed with me through all these years!
Beautiful piece of art that has stayed with me
Wow pure instrument and it's beautiful.
This demo is an absolute gem. Changed my life. The talent and dedication to detail is legendary.
The violin soundtrack in the background is an absolute masterpiece.

Mike: So which drum pattern did you use?
Mr. Hahn: Yes.
Why do you think Joe did the beat? This demo is 100% Mike. This is basically how it sounded before he showed it to anyone.
Mike: So which drum pattern did you use?
Mr. Hahn: Aphex Twin
Fixed that for you

It makes me crying... So beautiful and hits harder inside
It's amazing how you get to realize that the world's best stuff was created by such a professional and world known band.

Breaking The Habit is def one of the greatest creating of linkin park, love it ❤

Esse som do começo sempre atinge minha alma.
mto foda
Sim,o Linkin Park consegue fazer isso sempre

Found this gem when i was younger, always reminded me of some sort of epic intro/menu bgm taken from some game...
I've listened this since 2019 and i love so much the instrumental, is so deep and emotional❤
I was playing video games listening to Linkin Park and then this version of the song came on and i loved it. I felt like I was in an alternate reality for a moment as i recognized the notes and melody but had never heard of it like this before
Breaking the habit y Somewhere I Belong, One of my favorites 🧠🖤🎶
Esta Demo es mejor que muchas canciones de bandas gigantes que han hecho los últimos 5 años.
As I listen to this , I hear Chester's vocal from the actual track in my subconscious.
Wonderful, I hummed along remembering the version that Mike sings, also a demo.❤
This demo soo hypnotised 🫶🏼 thx best band LINKIN PARK
This... is some legendary "instrmentalness" from the 2000s. An uncovered masterpiece.
Bro the artwork is amazing. The instrumental is amazing
The clip has this "Walking Life" mood. Amazing!
It's crazy to me that people think Breaking the Habit is a metal song. This is like some 90s UK drum n' bass with a heavy dose of glitch. It's like people are listening to The Prodigy but they're hearing Korn.
OMG I love this so much! The fact that this is from 2002 says a lot. So ahead of its time. 💙
Wow, this is straight forward Drum 'n' Bass and Breakbeat
It’s amazing to see these demos get released now! I remember you could only get these from the Underground albums!
This is the best LP demo, and one of my personal favorite instrumental tracks. It sounds like an original breaking the habit demo is getting hacked by a decepticon.
Breakcore the habit
like aphex twin Awesome ✨

Hagamos todos que el Meteora 20 explote 🤘🏻🔥
This goes wild and I love it
The haunting strings makes it a more thoughtful rhythm and song flow
When you listen to this, then go back to BTH, you realise how much they managed to scale the drums back, but still have a powerful song!
the song is about disciplinary ----------> to achieve and to obtain further due time (Tadashi).
Juro que me la estoy pasando demasiado bien con este álbum de aniversario 😏😎👌🏼
I love the demos!!!
How amazing is this, I just can't comprehend. Just... 🤯🤯🤯
thank you Joe Hahn ❤
Love this version!😮
its crazy how this was from 2002, this sounds atleast a decade ahead of its time
This one isn't new to me, but I'm just super happy that an official release outside of LP Underground

ISSO É UM OBRA DE ARTE❤🇧🇷
Concordo
Yo someone gotta mix the demos with the full songs when Chester and Mike are singing imagine how that would sound!
i can hear his vocals in my mind
Mr. Hann was a piece of art .
I love the orginal music video cuz it fit very very well with the song
You can clearly hear breaking the habit but it also has a fresh touch to it.
It's a demo
This is actually fucking unbelievable. How are unreleased demos this good?!
After 2006-ish I started to listen lot of DnB. Now, many years later, at 1:33 I realized I was on DnB before I even knew about it.
Remember hearing parts of this one on the LPTV Meteora Breaking The Habit episode
Now this is just good music right here
Wow so many uploads! Good way to start the weekend. Thanks LP.
These demos are like listening to LP from alternate reality … like a “what if”
Joe Hahn deserves respect,he uses the same beat still he could’ve used other beats
Legend
Masterpiece
Even if they went away with this as the original back then, I will still love it
Did you know that Breaking the Habit was originally intended to be an instrumental but Joe Hahn said that there needs vocals in it.
I heard it from an old comment on UA-cam years ago. Just confirm me if it is true or not
After finding this randomly some years ago, it's wonderful to finally see an official release. I might even like this demo better than the actual song because you go in thinking it's one thing, and then suddenly it's not what you think, yet it's amazing all the same.
I think when I heard this back in 2010 this was the first time I heard drill n bass.
this is my favorite song by aphex twin
call this one Breakcore Habit 😄
my favourite demo❤
LP's brave
My love song❤ and Chester’s too..😢
Musica favorita do meu pai ❤❤
I’m just WAITING for the Amen Break to come in and Mike Shinoda to yell “JUNGLISTS!!!”
I would give everything but my wife and our fur babies to work with Mike Shinoda.
ありがとう🙏
Me encanta.
My heart just started to bleed. ♥
this demo is a LP go-to for me no question
It sounds like the Earth's Heartbeat... And there are only minutes to midnight.🙏
damn, this is before dubstep became a thing
It took this demo and five-six years to finally get the original song we have today: "Breaking the Habit".
the fact that it corrupts as it plays is incredible
Por que NN postam esse show completo, o público e insano
❤❤
it gives another version of the one we already know
This is LOVE. Can you please put the vocals over this track please?
❤❤❤❤ lp of theme
