  • I can't believe it had taken me this long to get to the Freeman Footage, which has been in my top 5 favorite examples of bigfoot evidence for years. In this video, I will show the footage, go over the circumstances behind it, the man himself, and the interaction's between Freeman and other more 'main stream' participants in the field. Paul Freeman played a significant role in capturing a certain young PhD's interest in this field.
Yes it's grainy and nondescript, but for 1994, I frankly think this film exceeds expectations for a commercial grade camcorder.
Huge shout out to MK Davis, he is truly the unsung hero of the bigfoot world. There are other hero's of course, but they are sung aplenty.

This is the most overlooked story in the whole bigfoot subject. The first meeting between Grover and Jeff, the chance meeting with Paul, the freash trackway, the fact that the track kept going and far and wide and through things Paul could not possibly have traversed, the hand print, the motile articulated foot prints, all of it. Its a master class in paleoanthropology.

This is what's always gotten me about the Freeman footage, and I'm glad that you address it here, Bob. Whatever the subject of this film is, it is an absolutely UNIT. The thing is MASSIVE, you can feel its weight with each footfall, how it shifts with each step, and you can even see a few frames where the sunlight highlights the exact outline of the shoulder, arm, chest, and back. Furthermore, not only is it big, but its mass and volume that is appropriate to the frame of the body. What I mean by that is that if this was just a big, baggy costume, then it wouldn't fit right. It would sag and bunch, none of which I see here, instead I see something that is not only heavy, but that takes up the amount of physical space one would assume a heavy looking creature would for its size. Simply put, the subject of this film is exactly as large as it appears to be.

One thing I also noticed is how easily it disappears. After he first walks out the camera moves and you see him come out from another bush and I swear if he stopped moving you’d lose him completely. I’ve read in several accounts about how people thought they were tree stumps in their peripheral vision until they stood up because of how still they can stay or how they can quickly get behind a tree and disappear. A guy in a suit isn’t going to be able to walk quietly or sit perfectly still either.

I know that Squatches are not the moon, but it really is hard to impress upon someone how massive a Squatch can get on video or even in conversation.

If you understand how mammals stay warm or how they breath the mass is a given, at least for me. That big barrel chest holds giant lungs that contain a large mass of air and blood. This helps the body regulate temp. Who knows if they sweat like us to cool off. I'd assume being their feet are not ment for effective travel like ours I'd assume they regulate differently.....mass is the next best thing. We sweat because we were made for long distance travel and we move a lot. The sweat evaporates on the skin and cools the blood with the help of surface area. They move very well over terrain and dense vegetation where air flow is not very good and they also are exposed to the elements....having mass means more surface area to shed heat or even retain heat. I believe a big male would be 4-5 ft wide at the chest and 3 -4 foot deep.

@@i.ehrenfest349 the walk on this looks lumbering because the 5ft drop it took in the middle of its stride. That would be akin to a six ft tall man compensating for a three foot drop half way through his step. Your gonna be a bit off balance. Plus you can tell the subjects focus was on the human while trying to navigate the wood side of the small bluff they were on. Remember freeman had to walk 20-30 ft UP before he started coming down on the other side. Across from him in the small gully was the upside of the next bluff. I wouldn't think anyone can traverse ground like that smoothly. You are correct though, many say it seems as if they " floated " but these things can hit speeds in dense brush that would get you a ticket in a school zone.

I'm a patron of the North American Bigfoot Center (NABC) and they recently spent a lot of time at the site where the Freeman footage was filmed, locating old landmarks that can be seen in the film (the entire film, not just the section where the creature was recorded) and then using those data points to map everything out using a computer program. The video that they created showing some of these findings from that data was very impressive and, like you, I consider the Freeman footage to be up there with the Patterson/Gimlin film in importance. Edited to include that I have read where the upcoming film, "Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science II" will include the most recent findings about the Freeman footage and filming site analysis mentioned above. Edit Two: Forgot to say, nice job on presenting the evidence for the authenticity of Freeman's video and perhaps more importantly, the footprint casts that he made.

One of the crew kept overhearing our Bigfoot ramblings. One day, he threw down a Manila envelope full of trail cam pictures. A 2007 trail cam, as far away as the Bigfoot here is from the closest tree, 6 feet. Daylight, color, You can see it approach then turn. I lived in the Los Padres National Forest for 15 years. 3 friends and I made it a regular routine to go hiking 5 days a week. We typically started on standard foot paths before randomly deciding to go off trail, cross country, never knowing where we might end up. We would typically walk for hours and hours. But we never covered more than a few miles. Maybe five to six miles at best. Cross country, rugged terrain is incredibly difficult and slow going. If we went out 100 times, we might see another person once. In all those years, we saw bear only 4 times and only once at close range when a bear accidently walked up on us. The other three times it was a hundred or two hundred yards away. In all that travel, I never saw a dead bear, deer or any large dead animal body. I am saying all this because I don't think people understand how remote some of these mountain ranges can be. Or how difficult they are to traverse. Or how completely void of humans these large expanse's of land can be and the forest I was in paled in comparison to the Pacific North West in terms of sheer size. You can't see 50-75 feet into the forest from the road and the idea of following a trackway cross country seems like a very difficult, if not impossible task in any reasonable time frame. I have hiked in Alaska as well, get ten feet off the road and forward movement slows to a crawl and at times becomes simply impossible. Downed trees, melted permafrost, mossy logs, deep mud, water crossings all make cross country hiking extremely difficult and slow. Because of this, people don't just "go into the wilderness". They might drive up a road in the forest. Park and go for a hike up a known trail. But almost NO ONE just walks for miles and miles, cross country into the unknown. It just doesn't happen. Especially in these massive mountain ranges with high mountain peaks and steep gorges. If you're five or ten miles out there, you better be hauling some serious gear with you, because that is going to be a huge under taking.

@@patstoll4044 When I think about the possibility of there being a creature living in the Pacific North West of North America, I try to put things into a certain prospective. The continent of Europe is 3,930,000 sq mi with a population of 746,419,440 people. By comparison, the Pacific Northwest Region is 16,000,000 sq mi consisting of the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and the province(s) of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Territories of the Dominion of Canada, including Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon and has a population of 15,800,000 people. In comparison, the Pacific Northwest is sparsely populated with some sections completely inaccessible with ZERO human beings. In fact, there are many places that have never been mapped on foot due to the rugged terrain. Is it possible that something could live out in that vastness that has never been seen? IMO, absolutely. In fact, it has been seen, thousands of times by people that keep having their motives and character questioned.

Howdy from Southern Oregon. Bob, I've always said that the Sasquatch I saw in 1975 had legs that seemed too small to carry the bulk of its mass. I've often thought it may have been an underdeveloped juvenile because of its proportions. Unfortunately I only saw it in profile but watched it cross my upper pasture. I hike all the time, hoping to be able to see a face, my curiosity overrides my fear. My sighting, and some of my friends, is on My Bigfoot Sighting episode #48. Thank you for these captivating videos, I've been a fan for a few years now.

That "Je-sus" in the footage sends shivers up the spine. People claim that they'd do all sorts of things if they saw one, chase it, shoot it, etc. But I imagine if most people actually saw one, what they would do is pee their pants and run.

This is always a point I bring up to skeptics. If you think you saw a predator (probably an omnivore, but still) that's bigger than you, you'll probably escape before you pull out your smartphone, open up the camera app, then snap a picture. Even if you do get a picture, you would likely be nervous and it'll probably be moving, so of course even in modern days we either don't have good pictures or we get blobsquatches.
The idea that we never find bones, isn't a great debunk either. Bones don't last long and the fossil record for apes and humans is vastly unavailable. Assuming Sasquatch is somewhere between ape and man that is.
Another thing people bring up is that America has been fully explored, which is total BS. Maybe it's all been flown over in planes, but no way we have walked and mapped every inch of the USA

Dear Bob, 1st: THANKS! Been practically jonesing for one of your videos. 2nd: Awesome, again, job at your “analysis “ of Freeman and the meeting between him and Dr. Meldrum. I’m a 56 year old disabled woman who has been interested in the subject since I stumbled upon a book in our local library back in maybe 1977. I would have been 10. The book had “Patty” on the cover. I was a believer then! Shortly thereafter, The Legend of Boggy Creek came out and was playing at our drive in. My parents took us to a double feature of that, and some really freaky movie with the guy from IRONSIDES and Rosey Greer (whose both heads were on the same guy! Certainly a strange movie!). The LEGEND however, SCARIEST movie I had ever seen in my life, at the time. Nightmares for weeks after it. And of course, my mom fighting with my dad for “I told you we shouldn’t have taken them to see THAT movie”. Lol. Thankfully, my little brother didn’t even make it through the two-headed man otherwise, he probably would have been traumatized for life! Me on the other hand, it simply ironed in and set my belief that Bigfoot is real. Nope, I’ve never seen one. Not even close. I just have read, watched, heard way too much EVIDENCE to cause me to be skeptical. I really enjoy ALL your videos. I wish I could tell you a Bigfoot story but sadly cannot. What I will add is that I find it very odd that in all these unproven encounters throughout the decades, that no one, I repeat, NO ONE had ever done the “here kitty, kitty” thing with one of here creatures! Maybe it’s because I’m a woman, or not, but I love wildlife and all animals (well, I lie, I HATE SPIDERS.). But I have a literal zoo in my backyard of wildlife that I not only feed, I sit on my patio and play around on my guitar and usually end up with an audience of squirrels lounging around me, they seem to enjoy it and I’m always glad for the company! I mean my spouse and I have said many, many times, that we’d be like “ oh, hi sweetie, are you hungry, here’s a granola bar,” while making smooches like ONE DOES to call over a puppy! I don’t know, it’s just something that’s really bothered me all these years. Then again, neither of us have EVER been bitten by a dog, or scared by a bear, wolf, etc.. And I suppose if we actually ever ran into a Bigfoot, we may feel differently about trying to “pet” one! (Probably!). Anyhow, I really enjoyed this video, as always. I agree with all of your points and comments on the subject. All of them. And with regard to this video, I especially agree with your summations on tracking, and actually hiking in to these super remote locations. I mentioned I am disabled. It makes me very sad and disappointed with myself because while we plan on traveling and doing a lot of “boondocking” in 2 short years when my wife retires, I can barely walk to my mailbox and back and highly doubt we’ll ever be far enough into the great outdoors to have an encounter. I wonder if you have the ability to get out there and visit these places? I hope so. Well, keep up the very good work and I really look forward to your next video. -Honestly, not much is impossible. Sandi

I saw an all black human like silhouette in Ontario and another in Minnesota on I94 near mm 90. At mm 84 there is a weathered plywood bigfoot. Both during daylight. Another strange incident in Virginia. I was on the backroads, the bush line quite close to the shoulder, a rock with a flat trajectory came out of the bush at my two o'clock and hit my windshield. I saw no one just the rock. This winter in Montana there were tracks crossing the median, single straight line, no scuffing from the heels. I walk my dogs in my back forty, to compare, my tracks scuffed the entire distance from track to track.
    There's no unseeing these beings.

That's one thing that always gets me mad about this particular subject, there's always someone saying "There's no evidence!", but there is a lof of evidence! You just have to take some time to sift through it. There are hoaxers unfortunately, but there's also so many good people working their asses off to try and prove this in a verifiable way. This footage looks insane, the creature feels organic, alive. No one knows how much time we have left on this Earth, but man I wish I'm still around to see when someone finally proves it without a doubt.

You make the best vids on this type of subject and i patiently wait for your next release though they are few and far between. You could really make this channel into something huge I believe. I have no doubt your busy as we all are or maybe some of us more so then then others. But I imagine your the busy type, but I truly wish you could produce vids on the regular. once a week or even twice a month would be great! Bob! Thank you for all your work, it means a lot. As a video producer of thirty years and a film/video specialist for a local historic film archive, there would have been little, if any, improvement of the video image if it was a fresh VHS tape. What I think is at issue here is at what resolution the digital scan of the original video was. A lot of information is lost in the standard definition scan. If the original tape can be found, an HD or higher scan would improve things greatly. It would still look "soft" compared to video resolution today, but there would be some more detail. Thanks, Bob!

Hi Bob, you should listen to episode #179 of Bigfoot & Beyond where they interview Michael Freeman, Paul Freeman’s younger son. In the interview Micheal dispels some common myths that the Bigfoot community and media has perpetuated about Paul’s character and gives some very meaningful insights into the integrity of Freeman. He also goes on to give some important insights on the footage Paul captured; it’s a necessary listen for sure. That footage is legit.

    • @jcarry5214
      @jcarry5214 6 місяців тому +2

That was a great interview, Michael does a good job being honest about his dad and defending him. Also the little touches are great, like how paul taped over a little boy's birthday party to get the footage. Multiple tape-overs certainly degrade already bad capability. I think Paul's tape is every bit as compelling as Roger Patterson's, I wish he got more credit.

I met Jeff Meldrom in eastern Washington at a library where he was giving a dissertation on Bigfoot. Afterwards, I spoke to him briefly about my own experience. I found him very intelligent, focused and quite a serious individual. I feel like that for him to even be there, to talk about it would be out of his character if he would not have a reasonable amount of belief. Anyway, Bob, please keep it up. That was some especially great work on your part. Very interesting and extremely well presented. Great job!

I seriously think this is one of the BEST videos you've ever uploaded here. I real Meldrum's book, and yes, everything you mentioned, and then some, are in it. Your detections, and attention, to detail is amazing. Thank you Bob, for not only this video as I've always been interested in this footage for, in MY opinion, its uniqueness which I believe leads to its authenticity, but also because I was surprised to see how many people thought Freeman was a fraud and a hoaxer, but ALSO, for your upload. I LOVE your offerings but understandably, they are very infrequent but that's to be expected due to their outstanding quality and most likely time consuming requirements. Thank YOU. By the way, several people you mentioned in this, from MK Davis to doctors Krantz and Meldrum, are to be commended for their continued work on this subject, which I know you did.
