I had the next part of CS3 funny moment edited, but it was too short for my liking so I played some more to add to it. It'll be out in the coming days, for anyone wondering.
I'm always happy that Anime and in general 'weird' things weren't sources for bullying in my school growing up, and I'm goddamn 30 and grew up in the middle of bumfuk nowhere. Hell, we had kids doing Naruto hand signs out here and we joined up to judge them on how accurate they were. About the only bullying I saw of the sort was in Middle School and that was mostly centered around people making fun of people for liking cartoons because the people making the fun thought that growing up meant leaving that stuff behind.
I've always loved how "You weren't bullied because you liked anime, you were bullied because you were weird" implies both that the person saying that was likely a bully, and that bullying somebody simply because they are "weird" is actually justifiable. Also, I quite liked the background shower noise. It's a nice kind of white noise that allows me to focus both on what you're saying and what I'm doing at the same time.
My friends mom, also a middle aged black woman, can tell us that back even in her day you were absolutely bullied for liking anime. all that's changed is you get bullied for not liking the right kind of anime now
The running water in the background was a nice touch. I just worry about your water bill. xD Spot on. I don't have much to add other than my own personal experiences. I remember everyone being into the Pokemon games on the gba back in middle school, but then one day something changed and they moved on to something else (shooters, Halo, etc.) while I continued to play my gba games. It was around this time that the Xbox 360 and PS3 released and everyone bought an Xbox 360 while I went with the PS3 because I preferred the games over there. I was always a fan of jrpgs and definitely believe that made me stand out and seem like a weirdo to the rest of my peers, despite still having a common interest in video games, just not the video games they liked.
Yeah it always feels like there's a status quo and if you don't fall in line you're open to ridicule. "The crime wasn't that you liked anime, it's that you dared to like it while it was at the bottom of the social hierarchy. Get with the program!"
I actually like the shower in the background. It's like those rain ambient sound videos that you use when you want to relax or something. My input is to keep doing it.
Honestly that culture has been in anime for years. Anime like Samurai Champloo and Durarara. A lot of the time the creators put the those influences in there because it’s cool to them or fits the tone. Dandadan is another in that list that has crazy hip hop for the intro. As for the shower effects I think those are great but I think some soft lo-fi music would make it better.
Yeah the shower stuff sounded great on paper but idk if I'm gonna bring it back. Yeah as I said references between cultures happen all the time. It's like the Akira slide making its way into other media, or non Japanese cartoons looking more anime-like because people like it.
I agree with this alot. When I was a kid, in elementary school, You could be pretty much be open with what you like in terms of anime, video game etc. Hell, our school had like an after care, and thats when we pulled out some Yu gi oh cards and had a duel. People would watch, and there were people who werent into that but they just let us do our thing. Now see that was in a private school. Once I've gone into public elementary school, that was a whole different ball game, and once i gone into middle school, again public, I would just not bring up anime or video games, just because I felt like the majority of people wouldn't be into what I'm into. Now if someone brought it up then yeah I would talk about it. Now the whole video game thing I actually experience something like that. Kids in middle school and i guess high school would play video games like Call of Duty, or Grand Theft Auto because that was the coolest thing. Hell , I remember when Mass Effect 3 was new and came out and almost everyone in school was talking about it. When people ask me what like of games I play, i would say stuff like Assassin Creed, Uncharted, etc. Which wasn't a lie but I would never say Kingdom Hearts, Legend of Heroes, Persona, Tales of, The World Ends with you, or even Bioshock, because those games were so niche nobody never heard of them. Even till this day I still do that as an adult because all i get is "never heard of it" or "wtf is that" or just look at me like I'm weird lol. Nice video once again Weapons. You were just spitting facts through out this whole video. And I didn’t mind the shower in the background didn’t even notice it as the video went on. Can't wait for the next video.
Lol thanks, though I might do away with it, even I was a bit distracted. I remember one time I mentioned to one of my bosses that I played games. He asked what kind, and I said RPGs (I didn't even narrow it down to JRPGs). He thought I was talking about call of Duty lol
As someone who got bullied a lot in school, this whole conversation irked me a lot too 😂 yeah anime wasn't the sole reason for it, but it was ABSOLUTELY (lol) a catalyst for it. I didn't care 😅 my friend and I also role played random DBZ fights all the time. We were theater kids too so it's not like improv fighting was a foreign concept. But yeah it's always been seen as nerdy to like anime and video games. The bullies really be telling on themselves with this one, eh? 🤣 the thing with Pokemon Go too, yeah some people who got into it are probably hypocrites but it definitely helped make pokemon even more accepted outside of the medium. I thought the shower sfx was funny, although I do think it could be lowered a few decibels. It wasn't overpowering or too distracting, I just think your voice should be just a tad higher than it was currently. Hooray for positive feedback! 👏
thanks for sharing your experience, dude. I was never bullied too much in school, but felt very disconnected from a lot of people because of my specific interests.

First up, I think you should remove the shower sounds. I do not know why people wanted them, but my autism makes it very hard to focus when there is distracting background noise that makes it hard to pay attention to what you are saying. On my end though in regards to the topic, I got into anime very late. I started with Zelda Manga and then found some other niche stuff I liked. But I never got bullied because of it. I went to a private repleacement school because of my disability and my classmates also liked Anime and Manga. This one classmate even watched the weird stuff like Euphoria or Boku no Pico. Do not watch that Weapons! You should not even entrust trashbags to people who watch that stuff! I made the mistake of watching Elfenlied when I was 12. Big mistake. And I later watched Blood C when I was around 15 or so. Another big mistake on my end. But yeah, I never really came into contact with anime when I was little and later on I just drew back from everyone after I got bullied for just being disabled without knowing I was disabled. I never had a normal school experience though. My sister though was also not bullied and also had a group of friends who liked anime. Her former friend(He started being toxic as an adult) actually did a little something during his graduation and played the opening of Boku no Pico on speaker in the school. You could instantly tell who knew and who didn't. My sisters history teacher actually really got into Hetalia and was racking his brain on how to use that show in the curriculum. I was already an adult in 2016 though and Germanies nerd culture is pretty different from what I can tell that you experienced. We just had the problem in the 2000s that the adults all thought everything 2D was for kids. Which it never was. But my dad was pretty chill with my new hobby and got me the stuff I wanted whenever we went to a bookstore. Bullying has always been and still is a huge problem. Even among adults. Especially when you are at war with your neighbors. But your neighbors hate you, because they're busybodies. People online are also pretty damn toxic and just so stupid. They will ask questions they can already see the answer to. Even if you hit them with official screenshots from official publishers with official dates, they will still ask dumb questions. Or they will ask questions where the answer does not exist. Like all those kiddies who want seaosn 2 release dates for stuff that have no release dates and just keep demanding a date that doesn't exist. What are they expecting people to do? Pull a fake out of their butt? Anyway, this is why we need good parenting and education. Kids need to learn how to read.
I had the next part of CS3 funny moment edited, but it was too short for my liking so I played some more to add to it. It'll be out in the coming days, for anyone wondering.

So he should remove the sound because you have autism ?
