There were guards and lineman who got in before him who did not have the accolades and all-pro selections he did. Irritated me to a high degree, Faneca should have been first-ballot and I would have sincerely selected him over say Jerome Bettis (and I love "the Bus").

Hines Ward was the epitome of a Football player and a Pittsburgh Steeler. Faneca was beast, great speech. Most gloss over the year he switched to tackle when a rash of injuries nearly destroyed the team......and he was great at T.

What is really classy about him is that he chose to recognize a father who was absent most of his childhood. His mother’s family is made up of six daughters and while they lived in the Houston area, they (all the aunts and their families as they married and the brood expanded, and his maternal grandparents went to nearly every game he played and every home game while he was at LSU he played. If not every game it was very nearly every game. I’m sorry his grand parents did not live to see this. Julie is an amazing woman. He chose well.

Loved hines ward. Im not even a Steelers fan and i think he screams "steelers". Old school, tough. Even though they haven't been legit sb contenders the Steelers are maybe the most stable consistent franchise ever. They always seem to have a nasty defense and never make drastic changes, especially coaching. Its baffling that they have had 3 coaches ever. Blows my mind. But to me at least, the organization is a symbol of old school, hard nosed toughness. It just has always seemed that way to me.

There are OL who should be in the HOF, but because they played on losing teams, nobody knows how great they were! Chris Hinton should be in the HOF. Pro Bowler at LG and RT. Paul Gruber is the next former Wisconsin Badger to go into the HOF, yes, ahead of Joe Thomas. The man faced HOFers Chris Doleman, Richard Dent both HOFers and blocked like crazy! It's not his fault for most of his career, the Bucs had bad RB's and QB's.
