Hi, Shirl, I have been waiting for someone to do a video like this one. Thank you much for testing for lead on your dishes. We know the U.S. banned the use of lead in paints. But, other countries CAN use it. It's a great piece of mind when you find out that all your dishes are okay. I love, love, love your double handled green bowl, too. I would like to get a few of them. Something to keep in mind... test all dishes purchased at antique stores, thrift stores, flea markets, auctions, and even yard sales if you question anything. Thanks, again for this video! You, and your husband are fabulous!
Oh my goodness Shirl! Thank you thank you for doing this video! And thank you to Trish for asking the question. I read that about Corelle dishes too! And I have bought several dishes from Temu and now I am going to get this test kit. I had no idea there even was such a thing as a lead test kit. So not only do you show us wonderful views of the countryside and share your adventures and great shopping finds...now you're keeping us safe too! I love that you did the control test. Always good for peace of mind. Phew! 💙💙💙
Hi, Sharon! I'm very relieved, too. It was so nice of her to let me know about the kits. I found them on Amazon and included a link in the description if you need a source. I so appreciate you hanging out with me. Have a wonderful weekend! ♥️
Hi Shirl, thank you so much for this video. And thanks to Trish for suggesting to test for lead..I wouldn't have thought of it. I'm so happy all your new dishes are lead free. I like the boho set
I am so happy the bowl with green ears was good!! I fell in love with that bowl, because you showed it!!! Thank you. I really really really enjoy all of your content.😊
That lead is no joke. I worked in a Pediatric Hospital back in the 80's & the Governor came to visit the lead ward & I thought he would pass out at the conditions these children suffered. Not as significant for Adults although over time could prove toxic in grownups. Many kids, we found chewed on window sills. I often wonder how toxic it is to puppies & kittens b/c they chew on everything. Thx for an informative tut. Be careful buying like old deviled egg plates from thrift. ❤
This is interesting. I saw a baking/casserole dish at Dollar General that was as cute as could be, but, it had a sticker on it that said something like - for decorative purposes only. I hope Temu's paint is safer than Dollar General 's!
Oh thanks so much❤❤❤ I have old Corel dishes as well not many but a few. Yours is older. I do appreciate you doing this for us. Hope I can find a kit as well. ❤❤❤❤
Shirl so glad I found u I've been watching u 4ever and subscribed when I saw ur 2nd vid. Thank u for testing I have used my corelle 4 a long long time and like u I have my Moms complete set I use 4 holidays . God Bless you 4 sharing with us .❤
Hi Shirl, I'm so glad you did this video. There was a show on TV in the 🇬🇧 and they were testing jewelry and some came up positive for lead !! Thanks for sharing your testing video much appreciated as I really like the dishes and cups. ❤
Thank you for doing that my friend. My mother did a lot of ceramics years ago and she made me promise that some of the pieces she made no one would ever put food in not even potato chips
I was wonderiing about that as well..but well after I watched your video. I spit out my water when I saw the SpongeBob "30 seconds later" LOL I don't know why, I just thought it was hilarious. I t is good to know the sticks do work, as well as the dishes are safe!
Shirl, I'm sooooo glad everything was negative!!!❤ yay!! You're right, it's definitely for peace of mind. I ended up hanging my 2 plates I had bought on the wall in my blue and yellow kitchen since they were blue and yellow 😂. I did notice mine didn't have a heavy glaze on them. So glad your Corelle was good too❤. It's surprising there is still lead paint used out there 8n some countries. Like you said, I hope folks due their due diligence to check hand painted things used for food. Hugs, Trish❤
I had that same set of Corelle dishes and my son threw them out. Now I'm hearing there's lead in most of the chocolate now. Seems I'm getting a new lead contamination alert daily now. It's crazy!
I was noticing one of your 2nd swabs from a temu samples was pink laying on side can you check and confirm? It looked the same color as your pipe sample. Toward end of video laying 2 middle swab.
Hi! Yes, that was one that I used to test the pipe. The edit made the timing a bit off. The color definitely did not come from the dishes. Thank you for watching! ❤️
While I dont' have any of those, they are beautiful. I'm grateful that you tested them. I thought about lead a few times when my stuff came in. Thank you for bringing this to us. I would test all of them, Shirl. Especially if they come from different sellers. Your glazed snack plates are just like the plastic ones I have. I didn't know they had ceramic! I think mine are melamine, which if I remember correctly, were taken off the market many years ago. I used one, once. 🥴 I think I'll look for the ceramic ones, although I do drop nearly everything these days due to psoriatic arthritis. If something has a handle, I'll try it. lol And I love Corelle. I had my fingers crossed on that one! 🤣
Hi, Elizabeth! I do plan on testing them all plus any future ones I buy. I may as well buy stock in those swabs because I do LOVE those dishes! 😆 Same here with the Corelle. I swear you can never be too cautious these days! Thanks for stopping by! ⚘️
Corelle is a popular American brand that many people have in their homes. The dishes that I currently use are white porcelain so I'm confident they're OK. The concern was with dishware made outside the US in countries that may not have the regulations that we have here. I'm so glad the results were positive. Thank you for stopping by today! 🌼

Hi Shirl, thank you so much for this video. And thanks to Trish for suggesting to test for lead..I wouldn't have thought of it. I'm so happy all your new dishes are lead free. I like the boho set

I saw a Dateline story one time about a toddler eating lead paint chips off her porch because they tasted sweet. That's some scary stuff!
I wouldn’t have thought of that either. Thanks Shirl!
Thank you Cheryl. I never even thought about it. Thank you for your information and testing these!❤
You are so welcome, Brenda! 🌼
Thank you!!!! Such a wonderful lady!!!🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing. I would never think of this.
I hadn't given it a thought either until Trish mentioned it. Better safe than sorry. I get paranoid too easily! 😆
Thanks for showing us the tests and results. I had ordered the cups and bowls so i was happy to see lead free!!!
You are so welcome! I feel the same as you! ⚘️
Even before you test just absolutely am hopeful too!!! Because they are beautiful!!!!!!😀🙏🏼
Thank you.. My family was raised on Corelle ..in the 70’s….identical to your’s
Mine, too! I did link the "Taste of Home" article I found regarding the Corelle. Interesting read. Thank you for watching. 🌼
I’ve got my mom’s corelle set from 1965 and use it all the time! Must not have lead in it cause I’m still here! Thanks for the info!
@@arewethereyetajsm Thank you! 🌻
Thank you Shirl❤
My pleasure, Cathy! ♥️
Thanks for sharing Cheryl good job done
This is interesting. I saw a baking/casserole dish at Dollar General that was as cute as could be, but, it had a sticker on it that said something like - for decorative purposes only. I hope Temu's paint is safer than Dollar General 's!
Do you think this test is sufficient if the dishes aren't used for cooking?
@@arewethereyetajsm I hope so!
Oh thanks so much❤❤❤ I have old Corel dishes as well not many but a few. Yours is older. I do appreciate you doing this for us. Hope I can find a kit as well. ❤❤❤❤
Hi, Kelly. Amazon has the kits and the one I linked I a bit cheaper than the one we bought. HTH!
Thank you so much! I have the same Corelle dishes. I am so thankful to know there was no lead on them.

Hi, Ellen! Thank you so, so much for sticking by us! That means the world. God bless you! 🩷
Thank you! And for adding in the Corelle, too. We have a couple of older pieces we hardly ever use. Maybe I'll just dispose of them to be safe.
Some of those older pieces are collectable. Be sure and check first in case you're sitting on some big bucks! 😆 Thanks for visiting with me! ⚘️
Thanks so much for testing these and doing this video. Very helpful! ❤
Came right over 😮😊 to see this!
Thank you Shirl great idea to share 👍👍👍

Thank you again for the tip! I'm happy that you at least get to look at your pretty dishes on the wall. That's a great idea for them. 🩷
Thank you. Never thought of lead, especially in this day and age.
Thank you for doing this.
My pleasure! 🙂

I had that same set of Corelle dishes and my son threw them out. Now I'm hearing there's lead in most of the chocolate now. Seems I'm getting a new lead contamination alert daily now. It's crazy!
Oh my goodness! I wonder if the Swabs would work on chocolate. 🤔🤭
Been following all the Temu queens and I found you from Cheryl’s channel❤❤
Hi!!! I'm so happy to meet you. Thanks so much for visiting! ❤️

🤗
We appreciate you
This doesn’t just refer to Temu, but all coffee mugs, teacups, all such kitchenware made outside of North America and Europe generally!
I didn't know there were test kits, but I was wondering as well if these dishes are lead free.
I'm happy for the positive results so far. Thanks for watching. 🤗
Oh man! I need those bowls with the sauce bowl built ins we like dip and avocado 🥑

Thank Jesus!!!!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😀😀
I tested my temu tumblers and they were negative for lead.
I also tested steel straws that I bought at a local store and they tested positive for lead!
Oh my goodness! Good thing you tested them! 😬
Oh I would have never thought of that 😳
I want to get those plates with the little sauce container. So I'm nervous to see what happens with those
All good, thank goodness! ♥️
God bless you and your husband because I think we need to be wary not just a Temu!!!👏🏼🙏🏼👍🏼😀
I HAVE THAT SET OF GREEN EDGED PLATES!! i was so nervous for the test... i have the plate in front of me with a half eaten sausage
Hey friend 😊
👋🤗
I’m worried about things i have purchased from Amazon also!!!😞Can you still get kit from hardware stores?????
Hi, Vicki. Amazon has them. I linked a good deal in the description box. :) Hope that helps!
@arewethereyetajsm thank you it does so much appreciated!!!!!🩷😀
Thank you. I too think their dishes are just beautiful! But wouldn't buy because of lead!
I understand completely. ⚘️
👍👍👍🤩🤩💖💖
👋❤️
to be fair maybe check some American dishes you like using

I avoid their jewelry for the same reason. I just cringe when I see women on here with their jewelry “hauls” putting earrings into their pierced ears!
