You cover Vascular Dementia better than any I have listen to. You are straight forward and don't sugar coat it any. My husband has Vascular Dementia. He keeps saying he just has some memory problems. He denies he has Dementia. He is very upset because the doctor told him he couldn't drive any longer. His doctor determined he has moderate Vascular Dementia. Thank you for doing these videos. It helps a lot.

My mom has vascular dementia. She was diagnosed this past January. My brother and I are going thru the exact same thing you are. She thinks there is nothing wrong and her doctor is an idiot because he said she can't drive. She has even had an independent driving test and that person told her the same thing. And she refuses to go to assisted living. Fortunately, she had a trust drawn up 15 years ago that put put my brother and I as POA and her guardians if 2 doctors deem her incapacitated for making decisions. I fear we are going to make her go to an assisted living place. She will be so angry but she is falling deeper and deeper into depression. It is heartbreaking to watch. I wish you and your family the best.

I truly found this very helpful to me and I shared it right away with my siblings.
Our 88 yr old father has a 20+ yr history of TIA’S and finally unfortunately experienced an ischemic stroke in 2020.
He has been living in a 42’ trailer on my husband and my property for the last 7 years.
    He also has advanced Alzheimer’s.
I had the privilege and honor of being daddy’s full time caregiver and especially since the stroke his dementia has really escalated quickly.
In august he got pneumonia and after just 1 week in the hospital his dementia was to the point that he needed 24 hr care.
Due to complete exhaustion and being sick myself I finally had to accept the fact that my mom, husband, daughter and siblings already knew, daddy needed more company than I could be for him and still be able to care for my disabled 74 yr old husband and my own physical and mental health.
Daddy is living in an Alzheimer’s unit 5 minutes away and he is much happier and feels secure at night now.
No regrets for the years of caregiving 🙂. 12:40

My Loved one has Vascular Dementia. He had a major stroke at age 48. He was diagnosed with Vascular as well as Alzheimer’s at age 79. Could that bad stroke long ago have caused his vascular dementia?
