There are a lot of overpriced homes, particularly probate/trustee sales where the heirs think they can get top $ for homes that haven't been updated in 50 years.
I agreed to take 10k off the sale price and the buyers promised to not nitpick with an inspection- it was 40 pages of ridiculousness. "signs a dog has been in this house" and we want it professionally cleaned. No one was living in the professionally cleaned and staged house. But yes, my dog came with me to water the landscape and add fresh flowers inside. We want the one-year-old septic line to be cleaned even though the scope showed clear,. We love the professionally installed whole-house water system but we want extra filters. Of course, MY agent didn't know the buyers, but I can't believe their agent didn't know them. Nitpickers! He did offer to pay for a drain clean if they needed one within 2 years. Like Katie said are you going to lose the sale over $300? No... and if I hadn't knocked 10k off I might have had to carry the house for longer.
Question: We're looking to sell and relocate from Md to DE and have a mortgage under 3% and we're not in a rush. But when we move we want to rent, what type of agent should we use at both ends? It seems that agents don't want to talk about renting.Everyone wants to sell our home but I don't want to live n a tent.
What if you price your home below market value, and only get one offer for the asking price? I was told that legally you cannot reject an offer that is for the asking price. How would you handle that?
I think it’s time for people to say goodbye to FL. Get out while the getting is good and there’s still some value in your house. The people I know there are post retirement, so besides the sinking (no pun intended) value, dealing with the aftermath will not become any easier as they age.
