- I have begun activities to regenerate trees that have been cut down for various reasons.
All the logs I use are scraps.
In most cases, collect the cuttable pieces and give them to a recycler.
The video shows a scene making a ebony plate from a tree brock.
Very advanced design work has been completed, so I'm glad to see it to the end!

Great gouge, lovely wood, beautiful and appropriate interpretation. I still remember the feel of ebony beneath my tools from my turning days, very distinctive.

ショート動画の作品ですが、スマホ撮影なので虎柄が綺麗に写らないのが残念です。
木製ドングリは、他と違いを出すためにフック部分も木で作っていますが、今後800～1000円くらいで販売予定ですので気になるがあればお声かけ下さい🙇
次回の動画は、スポルテッドとという柄を生かしたスツールを鉄も使って作ろうと思っています。

very nice grain. Looking at the crack it looked like it was ready to come apart. I might suggest finding an old coffee grinder to turn the shavings into a nice powder to mix in the epoxy :)

I have never worked with African Blackwood. I heard that it is harder than Japanese ebony, but the finish is beautiful and smooth. If I ever come across one, I want to get it.

That's right! It's a self-made longworth chuck that was completed last week. There are ready-made ones, but they are expensive, so I made my own.

Beautiful piece! And very cool that you built a Longworth chuck. BUT - you used a spindle roughing gouge on endgrain! This is VERY dangerous and should never be done. Please think about what you demonstrate - people will see your beautiful work and copy your techniques. Using a spindle roughing gouge this way could lead to a horrible injury.

But I haven't done that with an endgrind. I am very careful about how I use the luffing gouge. In the case of ebony, it may have seemed that way because the fibers are easy to see. Look at the direction of the crack in the finished piece. Indicates that it is not an endgrain.
Very nice piece, the one time I worked with ebony I found it very, very hard! Stay safe.
