One of the best starter ship to date. The Drake design, fabricator, second quicker cockpit entry and onboard basic amenities are strong aspects of the ship. Like you pointed out though, it needs a utility locker and integrated tractor beam for the boxes. Hoping those are features they can add when they come back to finish other salvaging functions of the Vulture.
I played #2 man on a vulture yesterday helping the owner and here are my thoughts. It's great if you have voice. It's manageable with txt back and forth but not conducive to smooth work flow--at least at first. It's great that u can go into 3rd person and pan around outside to see what's going on bc to not have that option you'd be done after the first 5 mins locked in a box with no control over anything. There absolutely needs to be a jumpseat bc as the ship is moving if you're not sitting ur going to be thrown all over the place like a rag doll. I can count probably 15-20 times being thrown on my ass as the ship was maneuvering in the hr it took to fill the hold to maximum...and there's really no way to brace for it. You can sit on the bed for longer distances but the bed is upstairs from the hold so not realistic when working. The combine stairs on the outside are great but inside I would much prefer a platform elevator. You step on it goes up or when up it goes down...simple and will still maintain the drake air. climbing up and down a ladder in already cramped quarters and especially for two ppl is just not good design imo besides being cumbersome climbing up and down every two crates--a lot of unnecessary work. That said, it's a sweet ship, great looks (for what it does) cool sounds, and yes u can fit 10 extra boxes if u fit on the side of the stacking platform and the owner said they will take them all for a better payout...but u will have to exit from the drivers seat door in that case. I want one. Will I pay $150 for it?...at this point no but since I play solo 99.9% of the time it's something to think about.
5:39 I wouldn't be too surprised if when we get personal drones, we will have access to a small tractor drone to move our SCU boxes from the cockpit of the Vulture via mobiGlass, or maybe just a small mounted remote tractor beam to control from a monitor on our ship. Needless to say, someone at CIG is gonna have a field day with this.
So as of right now a full 12 SCU of salvage yields ~78,000 auec according to other players. I don't play the game so i don't know if that covers operating costs though.
I've finally been able to play, and try My vulture out, I'm so glad that I got this ship, it's pretty much a license to print auec 😂 I went from 8,000 auec to about 590k in 3 runs
love the ship you can fit 21 boxes for around 160k a trip. but the lights suck no ware bright enough and the space junk gives more then ships becasue the ships are not to full scale. and ther is locker storage and also storage bin under the bed
i agree the constant back and forth almost makes both the reclaimer and the vulture problomatic why cant it just do the same thing as eather the mole or prospector
12 SCU plus 5 SCU down the side off the cargo grid = 12 SCU per run. But yes its a solo salvage but one which a spare player sorting the boxes out plus another in a cargo ship makes it much smoother.
I bought one and I love it as a daily driver. The ship itself, makes you money. It is super cool. But it really bothers me you can’t buy it in game yet.
I've heard that they are going to be adding in proper atmosphere flight models. I wonder how you are going to be able to salvage on planet when that comes in.
so they took the venture ship from eve online and changed its name now use it in there game? they runnign out of money on that 500mill they got or something and they cba making there own stuff??
Was going to buy it but doesn't hold nearly enough cargo as be playing this game solo, really dumb should had 4x more cargo space. Will earn in game won't take long with my large cargo ships.
It was actually made by the same guy who made the drake dragonfly and was modeled after it look at a dragonfly and then look at this it looking like a venture was a coincidence

The cockpit design looks ripped straight out of modern day combine harvesters

Your b-roll and commentary is super high quality. Hope these SC videos catch on because they deserve more views.
Greatly appreciate that comment :)

It does. Each salvage mission also awards anywhere from 80-250k
The idea that a solo starter will be working closely with a cargo runner is frankly very optimistic. The 12 SCU cargo area will be an issue.
Nice video Livid! Hope we see more videos featuring you!
😮 that’s a really cool ship
Its the ladder that kills the flow, needs a steep ramp or stairs. Maybe spiral staircase
That work looks kinda satisfying. Like power wash simulator as you said just as I wrote this xD
Exactlyyyyy
I really feel like the vulture was a reference to the venture even the names are similar...

Not enough profit for time spent using two players.
You do Eve Online style, and dump it outside, for a mate to pick up.. or you use two ships.
Nice video dude!
I have the reclaimer and loki might trade it in for this because this ships cockpit manned and actually works
I bought one and I love it as a daily driver. The ship itself, makes you money. It is super cool. But it really bothers me you can’t buy it in game yet.
Having the Vulture on my Liberator with the Expanse, for offloading salvage, and refine it on the go =D Can't wait !
I have the same plan but with 1 group running a reclaimer and another group running a liberator/expanse/etc
Devs have shown the vulture can make multitools and attachments it will come in live or an add on patch he was just abit late getting it in.
Yep but it's a temporary solution.
Awesome video, Livid! Good job
Glad you enjoyed it
1:11 So, basically, either rushed salvaging, or thorough salvaging?
Yep! Likely a choice you'll need to make depending on the hostility of the area
How do I move the salvaging arms independendly of the ships steering?
now that 3.18 is out, is this ship purchasable in game yet?
How/where do you buy the Drake vulture ship?
I’d really like to see a mid tier salvage ship. Kind of compared to the Argo mole
I also would like to see this
Should really delay the movement of the tractor beams vs the player input, looks kind of silly watching them twitch around.
Great video, so excited for this ship
Thank you - We're excited too!
I've heard that they are going to be adding in proper atmosphere flight models. I wonder how you are going to be able to salvage on planet when that comes in.
VTOL thrusters!
It has the same vtols that the cutter has
@@LegacyGamingUS Perhaps, but VTOL is only going to get you so far and will likely be tuned to keep you level
Love this ship, and I'm not even a salvage player...
how do you get this ship
We can just use backpack to change tools :P
so they took the venture ship from eve online and changed its name now use it in there game? they runnign out of money on that 500mill they got or something and they cba making there own stuff??
great video!
Please do one a mining tutorial too!
Was going to buy it but doesn't hold nearly enough cargo as be playing this game solo, really dumb should had 4x more cargo space.
Will earn in game won't take long with my large cargo ships.
I can't wait to get rid of my prospector for this mining is good money but it's not for me ahaha
WEHERE U BUY THIS SHIP
It will be available in game in 3.19
Yeah too bad you can only buy it on the pledge store for $175
It'll be available in game with the next major patch more than likely.
Cool EVE ship there….
Total rip off from Eve on line..
Eve Online starter ship
That is pretty good rip from Eve online Venture.
It was actually made by the same guy who made the drake dragonfly and was modeled after it look at a dragonfly and then look at this it looking like a venture was a coincidence
Other than the arms and color, not really.
It’s ok. Eve has quite a bit of ships ripped from wing commander and followups.
Bet you felt real proud of this comment
Thats a venture
Same guy designed it.
Lol the external light is non existant. Absolutely useless.
