Also she just started wrapping it up when it was obvious the wound headed to been disinfected of cleaned she just started wrapping it which if this was real like could have given him an infection or made it worse bc it’s just an open wound And not cleaned wound which would be pushing any bacteria or dirt or dry blood back into the wound which could make it HELLA infected?!? Like I’m not at all a doctor yet it’s common knowledge that the helper shouldn’t just be patching up a gash in someone’s arm without knowing the severity of it or what even happened and when someone says they need a doctor... go get the damn doctor

Y’all know that them actually taking care of patients is low key illegal. To volunteer at a hospital you have to fill out a ton of paper work, and they don’t accept just anyone. You also have to undergo HIPAA training (patient privacy). Most hospitals also require the volunteers to be a certain age (16 in most cases I think). This concept is so inaccurate it annoys me.

Every time I watch a review of this show, I notice something new to be angry about. This time it is the lack of anyone wearing GLOVES. I haven’t even volunteered at a hospital, just a few physical therapy clinics. All I did as a volunteer was observe and clean the tables and I HAD to wear gloves. The fact that these people are all directly touching patients with no gloves bothers me so much. Wearing gloves is such a basic aspect of healthcare that the directors of this show couldn’t be bothered to put in. There are so many things about this show that frustrate me, but leaving out something as basic as gloves is really the cherry on top of everything else.
How do teenagers have access to a MEDICAL SUPPLY CLOSET? Most people EMPLOYED at the hospital won’t have access to it

as someone who volunteered in a hospital for three years as a teen, this is soooo unrealistic and far from the truth omg it hurts
i didn't know teens actually could volunteer what was it like if you don't mind me asking. What would a teen even do?
@@averriamartin4400 sure! so we could work either in the gift shop, as junior couriers, or one other job that i can’t quite remember. i worked as a courier and we would receive requests from around the hospital to transport things. i.e. bring blood from the blood lab to a unit, retrieve medical records, transport patients out on wheelchairs when they’re being discharged, etc. sometimes we would make kits for the patients like the ones they’d get when they check in for overnight? if we had free time we’d help out at either the gift shop or the kitchens on cleaning duty. it was an awesome experience!!

I’m a Medical Assistant and I’m crying tears at the scene at 12:05 the “best doctor the the state” gave her a shot into her vein…. Sir that’s not how that works. DID THEY DO ANY MEDICAL RESEARCH AT ALL. LIKE THEY DONT HAVE ONE MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL ON THE WRITER TEAM TO MAKE IT EVEN REMOTELY ACCURATE. With what is he is trying to do the young girl would have an IV in and they would disconnect the IV bag from the IV. Then attach the syringe to the IV in her arm. Like besides from the obvious shot claiming to cure her burns and clear the smoke in her lungs. He just took the shot and injected her vein it doesn’t work like that lmao. On emergency situations like that she would already have a team surrounding her with an IV placed within a minute lol
They had absolutely zero health professionals like Zero for a medical drama

As a nurse I enjoy watching medical shows made by people who have never been in a hospital. It just looks like one of them was in a hospital for 2 hours 8 years ago and they used that to create the show 😂😂

@@bakalaurel in fairness, it can be hard to find a vein on someone hypotensive...but he didn't even use a tourniquet, then he had the girl squeeze BELOW the injection site (should've been above,) didn't clean the site, did the injection with a hypodermic needle (not an IV needle,) didn't place an IV catheter in the arm so next time she needs meds she'll need to get poked again, and then didn't bandage the wound after pulling the needle out. Just a huge mess, clearly wasn't a single medical consultant in the entire staff.
And the “bad boy” is an actual nurse in real life 💀

Been a nurse three years and I've never seen anyone directly inject medicine into the vein...someone with 3rd degree burns would need fluid resuscitation, and you'd be doing it through a cannula. And has that doctor never heard of tourniquet? So much stupid stupid stuff in here. Volunteers working out of their scope of practice which would get the hospital sued, and that doctor up for malpractice. Like I didn't expect a researcher, but I expected someone on the show might have been treated once or twice at a working hospital.
The 'V' in IV stands for venous, or vein... have you not ever given a slow push in four years of practice? No boluses? No IVABs or flushes or ondansetron or anything? Damn.

@@706153 okay doctor.. I am a nurse too & and like she said you don’t give IV meds in a injection. Doctors/ nurses would insert a cannula to make sure it’s in the vein before giving IV meds. Injections are used if they want to give medication into the muscles or tissue
@@ellaami9031 as i can remember, i received IV medicine as patient,but they always checked If its surrely in the vein by pushing back and seeing blood coming out.
@@san.1300 They usually do that when giving injections in the muscle to make sure it isn't in the vein. I'm sure IV meds are sometimes given that way but most doctors wouldn't do it that way because if IV meds miss the vein it can cause serious tissue damage (extravasation). That's why when you have a IV pump running, a nurse will check on you hourly to make sure the needle doesn't move and go into the tissue :) I am just saying that what happened in the show is not impossible but not common practice. Just shows they didn't have any medical professionals on set haha
