When they get to the assembly of the refills, they fast forward. Argh!!! That was what I wanted to see. I know how to do calligraphy; I know how to scrapbook; I know how to paint. What I didn't know was how to put this together. It's not that I don't appreciate seeing other people's art, but what you showed was perfect! Thank you so very much!!!

Great primer on getting started so people can be prepared for the onslaught of options and stuff that are to come. These notebooks can be literally life changing if you are the type to have a plethora of notebooks laying around for different purposes, always afraid of putting the wrong stuff in the wrong notebook only to realize it later. Just swap out inserts or add another and book, ready to rock and roll. Plain, grid, lined, dot grid, planners, so many options. Thanks for the great info for getting even more out of these great investments.

Very helpful video. I know that you commented about the zipper pocket, it would have been nice to see the zipper pocket or fold out organizer in the mix. My biggest takeaway is that it is less complicated than it might seem at first.

I initially used method 1 for the 3-refill TN when I was starting, but it annoyed me that the middle refill refuses to be parallel with the others without constant fiddling, and it caused the 2 outer refills to be curved at the spine. I saw a variant of method 2 and tried it but I was afraid the cover was going to get ripped at the spine so I ditched that immediately. I saw another video that did a variant of your method 3 for 3-refills and that's what worked the best for me-- 1) insert the middle notebook on the top band of the cover; 2) use a rubber band to bind the left outer notebook to the middle notebook; 3) use another rubber band to bind the right outer notebook to the middle notebook. This method kinda bulks up the center of the middle notebook because of the thickness of the rubber bands but I don't mind esp since it doesn't damage it anyway. What matters is the refills aren't getting bent/curled and when I'm looking at the top and bottom of the spine, it doesn't look like the rubber bands are struggling lol

I got them from a shop called "Loft" in Japan but I think you might be able to find them... They're from Midori and are called "Chiratto Index" in Japanese. I hope that helps 😣

This definitely helped me I have the passport notebook and five refills 😭😂 probably too small but the set up definitely helped me.
