it looks like this guy just wanted some new parts without having to pay for them since he would have had to de-solder those two switches, which were red and green, to put them in there. it makes no sense for someone to have a keyboard like this, i mean come on, look at how many switches and keycaps were missing for no reason at all.... and who would put a keycap on sideways.....

6:02 omg I had no intention on finding another video going over the top for a trash 552 but this hit me in the feels. The most extra PCB for $30 lol took FOREVER desoldering each and every switch. You should have painted the plate and board it’s actually nice material to work with

Earlier today my black k552 looked similar to this, although its all still there. I now have a Very clean keyboard and after spending literally all day binging custom keyboard videos, I have a Keychron c1 on the way that's getting custom keycaps and Durock stabs put in it

the new BBK552 "bare bones edition" is freakin awesome. I just did one. I put on lubed cs silvers with some cablemod shine through caps and is sounds amazing.

hey Glarses! i learnt a tip online for stripped screw, basically get a rubber band and put it on the top of the screw. get a screwdriver that fit the original screw and unscrew it like normal but with the rubber band. Hope i could be of service!

I know nothing about keyboard-ology, but damn, was it satisfying to watch it get cleaned and fixed up.
I actually bought the same keyboard not long after watching this. I can see why he had switches falling out, the plate is kinda loose tbh. Good thing those hotswap "sockets" (more like switch contact condoms, outemu switches all come with them) can just be desoldered and have other switches put in.

You can use q tips and slide them through the switches to clean the gunk
I completely understand the satisfaction of the desoldering gun and desoldering first try. I desoldered my Varmillo prebuilt with LEDs all by hand and holy hell I lost brain function because of it.
man i wanna desolder my miya pro but ive heard horror stories with those LEDs
