Looks like 10 times better than most of the Toyota trucks on the road here in the U.S of that vintage.
kolkat c probably easier to get parts since its in japan
I own an 1989 Toyota 4x4 and its clean in and out 125k miles and it's only going to get better about to change out the bumpers soon
Japanese culture promotes cleanliness and a shame culture towards anyone who doesn't exhibit the expected standards
Because in general other nations usually take higher care and respect of vehicles other than the USA.
In the USA in general vehicles are seen as nothing more than a fleeting ownership, affordable and disposable.
In many countries they treat them as though they are for life and to be passed on with no max life span.
That is the most badass thing i have ever seen lol
J. Sauce i know straight axle diesel dually 4wd its every Toyota guys dream plus the cool camper to boot
I came to the comments to say the same thing!!! Perfection.
Bushwacker great minds think alike, great minds think Toyota
@@MC_7.3 whats really sad is your vlogs lmao
@@fixit4u73 yeah man over here in southern california its either monster dually chevy/dodge or winnebago. Never seen a hilux camper but it looks awesome!
I could happily live in that.
Me too
Yes I do live in mine. So fun and freedom to do it is priceless really. Anytime I can start it up and say goodbye
That is my definition of a perfect camper. A camper based on a Toyota pickup, and especially being a 94 which is the year i was born.
Day Dreamer I see a picture of Seattle in your background! Bellevue brother!
Seattle brother
If this had the 18' Sunrader camper it would be an actual unicorn. =)
Day Dreamer dang boy, you are still wet behind the ears!!!
These Toyota's are practically indestructible, if well maintained.
Top Gear tried to destroy one in the most spectacular ways but they failed.
So they gave it an honor place in their studio, out of respect.
indestructible for a stock one. But what about when its carrying a 5000lbs camper
This is a different configuration then that one.
The Top Gear one had the 22R engine if I remember correctly, anything else is almost the same, I have no idea about the 3 cylinder diesel engine, I know the 3 cylinder engines are to shaky, and makes them a bit less durable, but as I say I don't now about this diesel engine, I never had or even drive one.

Welcome back Derek!
Rear supplemental air bag suspension systems are usually only used to maintain ride height under varying load conditions. Usually they cannot be used to increase ride height beyond the normal level.
Thanks for the comment. It's good advice.
@@PacificCoastAuto Thank you for the videos! I really enjoy the glimpse into the JDM market you provide and I am looking forward to your next live stream.
Does anyone remember the Toyota camper trucks built in the US in the '90s?
You can't hurt them. I know of two, both 4x4 duallies like this one, that are now tow trucks.
The rear camper rotted, but the little truck LIVES!!
Wish my class B had a sink that large. Fixed up and in the USA I would think that would sell for 40k to 50k with the right buyer. You just don't ever see stuff like that. Amazing survivor.
Easy. So much more capable and reliable than any campers we have available...
@Jbog07 or use your 1 ton 4x4 fuel pig for commute to work

No
not with that damage
WOW!!!!!! Looks waaaaay smaller from the outside than what it actually is on the inside. Amazed by how spacious it is !!! And Berth 4 ?! Seriously?! Of course it's small for 4 people to spend more than like 2 weeks holiday....but i'm not even sure it's true what i'm assuming....
I've been searching for the perfect camper to live&travel full time on my own. And i think i've just found it. From all points of view I am truly amazed by this spectacular Toyota Hilux Camper. Just wow. Them Japanese sure know how to take advantage of space and make the best out of it. I think this is the best camper i've seen so far. Considering I was looking for something small, like Berth 2-3, something like a Talbot Express, to be able to drive it pretty much everywhere without worrying about the size of the vehicle and without the "parking space" problem which ceases to be a problem for Talbot Express and of course for this Toyota Hilux as well. Not to mention it's a 4x4 so really, driving it ANYWHERE shouldn't be a problem, even the most "unfriendly" road. By far the best presentation i've seen on youtube. My opinion. I guess it's because you went exactly where i was expecting you to go (filming). You were showing exactly what i wanted to see and explained it properly. Now i know exactly what i want. And i want this!!!!! In any case, a Toyota Hilux Camper. Just discovered my dream camper to travel&live full time. Big enough for me, and big enough even if i was to have 3 more persons with me (well, for "not too long" of course, like for a 2-3 week holiday. Month tops). Wasn't expecting to see a shower room as well ( even if it's the same with the toilet room). I honestly think it's better this way. Others rather have them rooms separate. 1 just the shower and the other sink + WC, which i never liked. Yea, maybe it's more comfortable but I think it only is if you're travelling wth more than 1 person. If it's just me (or you xD) I don't really need separate shower room. I can cope with my own shit smell while taking a shower. And the good part is that in absence of the "Bidet" you can properly wash yourself down there after dropping the "morning bomb".
Soooo yea. In just a few words: I fell in love with this Toyota Hilux Camper. Badly. And i have no idea how much it costs one, but i'm sure as hell it worths every penny!!!!
This is the first one i'm seeing here on youtube. The first presentation. And let me congratulate you my friend for the great job you did presenting this beast. Nailed it!!!!! I could watch your videos all day. Again, congratulations for the complete and accurate presentation. Also you have a pleasant voice to hear and you seem a smart guy. I will definitely subscribe and check some more videos of yours! :D
Enjoyed all 22 minutes and 49 seconds!!!
Thanks for showing this beautiful beast!!!
Take care and keep it up!!! Cheers mate!
This rig is beautiful perfect for the Colorado Rockies!
This is one of the best RV that I've seen so far.
It has everything, kitchen is neat, the bathroom with flushing toilet is fine.
It looks so nice and warm. I could live in there comfortably.
Well detailed and informative.
Thank you for sharing this video. Sold out already.
They need to make more diesels with manual transmissions!
Welcome back, and happy new year!
That's a sweet camper.. I hope the new owner takes care of her and enjoys her.
I heard you can buy toyota hilux & nissan atlax which are both manual 5 speeds, diesel, & 4x4. In Japan you guys buy them at the auction for $5k or less, & sale the for $15k & up. Vehicles in Japan have to be maintained to be kept in the road. That's why they are all good running vehicles.
9:55 Hey that's a nice...
10:00 OMG a Supra
I subscribed!!! I love those rare Japanese vehicles.
Just found your channel. I'm enjoying theses auction vehicle videos. Your really thorough with your assessments. Cheers.
I would happily buy this! Guess the biggest adjustment is right side driving with manual using left hand instead of right. I’m already used to driving on the right side from a couple visits to Japan. This is pretty rare and cool!
My absolute UNICORN VEHICLE!!!!!!
I want a diesel AUTO and exact same camping setup
WONDER HOW HARD they are to find over there because in the states I’ve found 2 and they were both absolutely run to the ground
Unbelievable, a 1994 toyota is as good as current ones. Astonishing design
Awesome find. I’m in Okinawa still hunting for a 1995 Hiace on the mainland auction sites.
This engine diesel is unstoppable in the Bush and water. Torque monster and bullet proof .is also sold in Australia and many local has them
Here it’s in the highlander ua-cam.com/video/qZHsva2ALqQ/v-deo.html
The same 2.8L Toyota 3L diesel engine is in our 1997 HiAce. Going strong, never had any issues with it.
Beautiful looking camper. It's damn unforgivable that you have to wait 25 yrs in order to purchase a JDM Japanese vehicle in the USA. I've always liked JDM Japanese cars, probably more so than our American Market versions of Japanese cars.
Not bad all considering the year 1994 the pick up camper was made. I could live in that with my chihuahua. To me it looks cozy and comfortable as long as there’s a bathroom with flushing toilet.
Thank you for sharing this video with us.
A big thumbs up.
OMG! I want this! Awesome, thanks.
AMAZING thanks for sharing
My dream rig!
Damn that's a dream. Solid axle just like I would want it. Might be worth selling my airstream for that
Great use of space, everything you need
This camper looks so cool. It’s so badass, just needs a little repair with the peelings.
Very nice actually, got all the essential amenities
Japanese license plates look so cool and clean!
Oh my gosh this is AMAZING!!!!
VERY GOOD USE OF SPACE............I Want one of those
Dude, I love this video
The only channel which will show us everything, including the wheel tread(no hate just thought that the setting down of the camera in front of the wheel was funny)
So you have dually offsetted wheels on the rear and regular offset wheels for the front? So do you drive around with 2 different spares with this vehicle?
14:03 for view of the camper
Randomstuffofmr_Anderssonlife thank you!
wow ive never seen a straight axle on that body style pickup. very cool
Delivery to California is 33k USD sirs! (Seller e-mailed me back). Worth it i guess if you plan on making it your home for 3 years plus.
Thanks for letting us know!
That is sooo cool!!
One for us, please! Looks like a great machine, and better suited to the modern world than our 1983 Toyota New Horizon motorhome. Looks like a great way to drive around Alaska, Canada and the Lower 48.
Solid front axles too! So much want!!!
really Good GEM here. lucky if you guys get this one. its super rare
Lovely lovely camper!
I'm not sure if someone said yet but, the air system you mentioned is most likely for an air lock for the rear and or front differentials.
There were similar Toyota campers sold here in the US. I don't know of any having a diesel engine and few had 4 wheel drive. I have seen Toyota campers where the chassis was swapped with a 4 wheel drive chassis. These have all been done by the owners.
These were fairly popular in the 80' and 90's. The nice thing about campers like this is the owner can do most of any camper repair. I had a Chinook pop-up Toyota camper in the 80's but no 4 wheel drive.
Toyota Supra just casually sitting in front
This is so awesome!
Usually, I like to do everything outside when I go camping. Cook and shower. I only use the inside facilities during bad weather. This is an awesome buy. Just reface the cabinets and steam clean the carpet and buy new bedding pay a mechanic to check the mechanics and loaded it up and get out on the road.
Its simple but i like it..😍
awesome
I wish I was at the time of my life that I could have this and enjoy with my wife. 3 small kids kinda make this little truck not workable now but great review anyway! maybe in 20 years... :)
Glad to see Toyota Hilux in US.
Always wanted a 90hp camper
Sounds kinda slow lol
You sur are a man of word and wisdom
beautiful thx
I love it. Even Centuery21 is in Japan.
No full floating rear axle....rear tires would probably snap off like they did on the Toyota motorhomes built in the US....it caused a factory recall
gabe ayers it is the later full floater
oh what fun..I would love that little truck.
Soon as I join these I'm like "show me the muthafuckin bathroom!"
cool rig, but I don't think thats a typical toyota duallie axle - ie the 6 bolt full floating. 5 bolt have been known to be troublesome. any more info?
wow.that black supra !
Yeah, and the fc is pretty cool too.
10:00 yeah... let's all ignore the Supra in the front :(
What does the Supra mean? I see people commenting on it in the comments but no one's explaining it
@@rinkle396 its a modern classic car , very famous in the car community amongst car enthusiasts and fans.
geeez i love that truck !!!!
my dream home right there!!!!!
i wish for left hand drive conversion putting for 1FZ-FE and Two Lockers LOL
It appears that this one is sold, what an awesome set up! How much did this camper sell for? I'm looking into purchasing something like this. Where in Japan are you located? I'm currently in Japan. Love to see more of what actually out there for sale or options.
He never shows the storage under the dinette seats and there was also a little cabinet towards the back window next of the shower he didn't open I suspect that the outdoor door daddy said he didn't know what it was was probably Amore tour or extended underneath outdoor gear storage this thing is perfect!
На этом автомобиле и в кругосветное путешествие можно было поехать!с удовольствием
That's a nice unit
This is a good specimen.
The word "unicorn" is always used to describe this camper.
Toyota only manufactured a few. People stopped being interested in one piece truck campers, & started buying the 2 piece truck capmper combos.
The hood mirror is on all of them.
Japanese always know how to build something in a tight space
AWESOME! check diesel import regs for U.S. on these vehicles though. RPG.
are you allowed to have steering wheel to the right in the US?
bout damn time this generation of the ol lux is importable this is my favorit generation of hilux #luxs4ever
this is so cool :0 I want it
Ugh my dream incarnate!
Oh man, HILUX FTW!!!!!
would be nice to know how big some of the beds are, seems a lot of these are not big enough for someone around 6 foot to sleep in without going diagonal..
Really wish they had left this with the original paint, even if it was ugly/faded and whatnot. At least that way you can easily see what you are buying, with the respray who knows how much bondo filler is in that back camper shell, what all sort of hack fixes they did to it to make "look" nice but it could still potentially be a giant POS under that fresh coat of paint. I can see a couple places on the inside of the camper where they had leaks.
This thing isn't as "mint" as you might think. The truck portion looks great though, very clean chassis and very low miles. But the camper portion, once they start to leak, they pretty much go to hell. They make the camper wall portions out of the cheapest particle board possible, once it gets wet it loses its integrity. Campers, unless you are buying an Airstream or something very high end like a Prevost bus, they're all made like crap and have a limited useful life, even if you take excellent care of them.
gorgeous
This is nice!
I have a 91 Hilux 2.8 put some extractors,k and n filter and change the fuel filter and it makes a word of difference in speed
man this is fricken awesome.I'd just about trade my mustang for one like this.
Very nice 👍
Would love that
my dream camper . . .
My yota would look great behind that thing on a trailer!! Too bad the in-laws just gave us a RV. It would be considered small to medium here in the US. I've see the 2wd models here but not really any 4wd Toyota campers.
"Snipin's a good job, mate! It's challengin' work, outta doors. I guarantee you'll not go hungry-"
Do you pay in full before shipping or after? How common are 25 year old or older skylines awd turbo 2 door or 4 door manual rb26dett? Id love to purchase one.
The perfect camper
A man can dream. Really want one
That Supra tho... 😍😍♥️♥️♥️
That thing is so tacticool
Wow! So lucky. The air bags would be good for lowering the vehicle for stability, especially in windy areas, when parked.
Oh, also, you had mentioned the compressor. That would be for the air tanks so you can refill the air bags.
I believe the mystery compartment beside the camper door will be the gas bottle.
9:58 that supra tho 🥰
