this was majestic! battle against a true hero is by far my favorite from the OST and you did it justice. I love that you also included the intro. I think this is one if not the only one I've heard with it. in short great work this was more than worth the wait.

Funfact: Battle Against a True Hero uses a motif from a Homestuck song that Toby Fox made called "dESPERADO ROCKET CHAIRS." It's a strange motif to use from Homestuck as the character it was originally made for is not like Undyne in any capacity.
The structure of True Hero also follows the general musical structure for Touhou songs, which Toby has made several parody songs of before. (Look up "An Apple Disaster" on UA-cam for reference.) The Touhou reference could be seen as a jab at Undyne's obession with anime in Undertale.

Undertale is a good game. I don’t get why people would dislike because of it. Yes I started liking it 4 years late.
The Guardian PR0XY a lot of people hate it for the toxic side of the fandom. But all fandoms have a toxic side, so many people just decide to hate undertake because it may be boring to some, because it is action packed for others, and for some it is just because the can, and because they can, they have to.
@@minecraftsteve1593 The game itself is amazing, but people dislike it due to its extremely toxic fandom, cringy ships, its multiple unnecessary AUs, etc etc. Plus, it's also extremely overrated. Don't get me wrong though, I love Undertale (as you might tell from my pfp because I'm wearing a Sans hat lol) but there are way better games out there that deserve more attention imo.

This is damn spot on! That echo effect in the opening! And including But The Earth Refused to Die felt like the perfect intro the way it was done.
I've started practising HEMA swordsmanship and I've been doing some solo training.
Not gonna lie, this is great training music, as well as being the best remaster of the song I've heard.
The whole thing is masterful but 2:24 is just *YES.* You capture the weight and intensity I imagine from that part perfectly. That's actually the part I've started doing sword motion drills to and I'll tell you, it's only a few seconds but it's a hell of a workout.
Keep it up. You've easily become one of my favourite musicians.

Definitely worth the wait on this energetic piece. And adding the intro was a nice touch few cover artists seem to take into account.

The beginning of that fight was a really cool moment for me :)
I already knew that Genocide has nothing but the Sans fight, and I wanted to test my skills against him.
I chased every monsters in the underground and killed all of them, without MERCY. All so I could fight this miserable skeleton.
People fled from me, but I was determined, I killed every single one of them.
When i saw Undyne dying to protect the kid, I felt bad for the first time, but I kept telling myself that it's all to test my pure skills of a "difficult" boss in the judgement hall
Then, as I was about to leave and continue my masacre, Undyne stood up, she was swearing to kill me, I didn't feel anything but the desire to move on. She just wouldn't let me go.
I fight her,. she fights me, she kills me. Again and again and again but I didn't give up.
When I first saw that determination to end my life, I was scared, it made me think of what I've done up until now.
But I was filled with DETERMINATION
This is a way better fight than sans in my opinion.
I'm very glad that this song wasn't remixed as much as others. It was too awesome, and was more than just right.

She was not afraid of defeat or death. She was afraid of what would happen to the ones she loved if she ever lost. She knew she had not the slightest chance to win, but she still rushed into a battle she knew she would lose to buy time for the weak and the defenseless to escape. That is real bravery.
Undyne the Undying took me 3x the attempts Sans took me to win.

Hearing this, you just KNOW that this is the theme of a true hero/heroine.

Years later and I still often go back to this version of the song. It's also so rare to see covers of But the Earth Refused to Die and it really completes the piece. Without the intro, it's up there as one of my favorite covers ever. But with the intro, I'd say it's in the #1 spot. Thank you for this.

Notice how you can't move (or run away) when you're green. The spear's too heavy! That particular attack would be way too easy to dodge, if that weren't the case.

@@slashbash1347 She does though? In a pacifist/neutral run, if you keep getting hurt she states "I gave you a spear to defend yourself with" therefore, we can only assume she did the same thing in this fight as well.

Nah, sand was defiantly more difficult for me, but while megalovania is epic, this piece portrays how epic undyne is, while the slower parts signify her pain at the monsters deaths and she'll do anything to stop you.

This cover is really amazing, and definitely stands out from most other BAaTH covers. Many people tend to ignore/block out the intro to this sing, and I don't understand why, as it adds a certain tension to the song, much more so than Asgore's intro, which almost everyone includes.
