The old version feels like the opening of the battle, when Undyne believes she is going to win this fight, saving those left... This new version feels like the point in the battle when she realizes she's not going to win this fight, but refuses to go down without buying as much time as she can for Alphas to save the others.
I was listening to most of these thinking, wow this is a cool arrangement, but this one, I think, is how it was originally supposed to sound. This arrangement makes me feel the same way hearing ‘Asgore’ in brass does, like that was what Toby Fox was going for with his limited assortment of soundfonts. Nice job, it sounds great!!

Fun story: first genocide route, i felt like a god. Wandering around, killing shit. Felt great, when undyne died in one go i was just like “oh cool i can skip the fight” then she dun got determined and i hit a stalemate. I actually ended the route because i respected the character for stopping me when other games couldnt and went on to do a pacifist route and cut the game off there as a sort of payment. I havent done a genocide route since Edit: i finally finished that battle. Sans is next

Fun story: first genocide route, i felt like a god. Wandering around, killing shit. Felt great, when undyne died in one go i was just like “oh cool i can skip the fight” then she dun got determined and i hit a stalemate. I actually ended the route because i respected the character for stopping me when other games couldnt and went on to do a pacifist route and cut the game off there as a sort of payment.
