    The guy with the green screen fretboard probably also has some tracking dots on there so that the effect can, well, track on the fretboard - or maybe he just tracks it with other high-contrast marks on the guitar. Once you get used to the workflow, it's really effective (and fairly painless if you have your camera and lighting set up right).

    First, on the "drill" technique, you don't need to attach picks. You can use the electric motor to interact with the magnetic fields on your pickups for some great sounds. An old (late) friend used to use a dildo to do the same thing. He'd add a phase shifter, and an stereo auto-panner to add to the effect. It was awesome. Second, while the green screen things was epic, it's only a video thing. If it could be done live EVERYONE would be doing it. Third, I always assumed that everybody drank beer that way during a gig.

    • @StarQueenEstrella
      @StarQueenEstrella 2 місяці тому

      Resonator guitars were traditionally made with metal, either with just the bridge being metal or even the whole body of the guitar being made from metal. Typically these are made from brass but some can be made using nickel. (Personally I would at least be cautious with nickel since there are some guitarists, like myself, who are allergic to nickel.)

    I reckon you missed a GOOD chance to play Misirlou (that one song from Pulp Fiction) with the drill!

    I don´t know if anyone ever used a saw to play guitar; but I know the saw is used as a music instrument itself, played with a bow.
