Just did my front yesterday, it's interesting because your stock springs seems longer, I have a 21 L and they were the same size
The RF/G models do have longer forks than the L
The aftermarket RF/G bbr spring kit comes with longer top tubes as well to compensate

I received bbr fork springs ,bbr box 650-klx-1505 part number and they are much linger than the factory rf springs . They fit all the way up the plug thread. I wasnt sure if they were right or not. To add a little preload i cut down the exisiting spacers 1.5 in and it was a tight fit but worked out and the bike definitely doesn't sag as much sitting on it and a bit stiffer. Does this sound right?
They redesigned the new fork springs from BBR for the RF!!!
love the bike build got some suspension for my klx 140 as well that a dealer ship near me told me to get and then refused to put on so I'm going to try myself(I have decent experience working with dirt bikes) but I cant figure out where to get new stanchion tubes to fit the size difference
Depends on which klx 140 you have for which set you need. Bbr just madea a new version for the G/RF that not longer uses the stanchion tubes

Just got my stock spring off the rear shock. When you put the new spring on, did you just tighten down the threaded piece (not the locking one) snug down to the new spring or did you go further than that? Just eyeballing yours it looks like it's about halfway down the threads. But I couldn't tell if that had required some added turns after it tensed up or not. Thanks
Just snug it up then another 1/4 turn. The more u tighten it, the more preload youll get
@@AaronsEnduro awesome, thanks! It was a real pain getting that locking ring loose. I had to grind down a chisel so I would have a big flat tool to tap it around. Else anything like a screwdriver would have really cut into those slots. Worked fine though. I’ve enjoyed watching your series on the 140. Convinced me to keep mine and just do some upgrades. Hope your Dad is doing well. Thanks!

Would these be good enough to take jumps? I would go with the kx swap but it’s like over a grand just for the front..
Kinda, still not MX forks tho so youll probably bottom out if you’re not hitting the landings perfectly. Significantly better than stock tho
What was the outcome? I have heard that other guys went with the KX 100 rear shock with the BBR spring however what are your thoughts of just the BBR mods?
Absolutely love em, now keep in mind i dont ride this on a motocross track, but its fantastic in the trail stuff and faster potholes,log,rocks etc, manages much better
@@AaronsEnduro yeah I see all these guys talking about changing to kx forks and rear shocks etc and I think man why don't you just buy a KX if thats what you want

@@AaronsEnduro well damn, I can’t find any that will fit my R. I weigh 230 so I don’t want to keep putting to much pressure on the stock shocks.
Unfortunately the R is meant for kids! Not much for mods for them comparatively

@@AaronsEnduro I have been looking for information on how to increase the height to fit my height, but I still can't find information on that. Do you think the front and rear fork of the klx 140RF will fit my klx140L well so I can install bigger wheels?

Why didn’t you just put kx100 forks on it
200$ vs 1000$+ getting old used kx forks rebuilt
Also the kx suspension is only fitted for a 19” front tire and will bottom out and hit the 21” front tire without putting stoppers in the forks limiting travel, which kind of defeats the purpose of the kx100 forks. They’re definitely better suited the the 140L than the RF or G model
@@AaronsEnduro yea i have the base model. i used my old kx forks and the triple clamps just bolted on. the only modification i had to do was make a little bracket so. the 140 brakes would fit. other than that, the stock wheel, axel, and plastics just fit on as well.
